Lorenzo Alexander - Bring back at $2.5 Jordan Phillips - Sign for 3 yrs John Miller - jordan mills - Ryan Groy - jeremiah Sirles - I see 2 of these guys being kept (but ultimately it will be after heavy input from the new OC coach) Taiwan jones - Jones was key to the ST and it's not a coincidence the unit collapsed after his injury. But the guy is consistently hurt and had only two injury free season in his 8 yr career deonte Thompson - Gone -

There was plenty of criticism of Bannon on these pages, if not specifically about his idiotic call for the 44% millionaires tax. Good things started to happen when that faux-populist slimeball was kicked out of Trump's orbit. As for your discussion with Tom about why a 90% marginal tax could work in the '50s & 60's, the main reason is that the top rate was an illusion because there were no limits to recognizing losses. That created a huge industry of limited partnerships whose sole purpose was to generate losses. Imagine that. The nominal 90% rate also gave birth to the AMT, once politicians realized that nobody who would be subject to the 90% rate actually paid that rate. But instead of blowing up the tax code, they introduced another complexity. The beauty of the Reagan tax reform was to blow up all the economy sapping enterprises in return for simplifying the code and normalizing tax rates at levels that are palatable to pay instead of avoid. Imagine that. That's why most people are stupid, including the main subject of this thread. Nobody wants to go into the details. -
Highly doubtful they keep Dareus on his contract and a down year

So in effect, you again are ok with Trump's deep state fighting the DC Deep State. Don't forget that a big pillar of Trump ordering the Syria exit is that he didn't want them to be in the way of Israel's invasion of Syria, yet most recent news say that Bibi pleaded with Trump to stay put. So, who is he listening to, other than Lucky?

Obama ran on closing Gitmo within his first 100 days, and then reality kicked him in the face. Nobody would have an issue with Trump ordering a troop pull out if there was confidence that his order came from a carefully deliberated process, and not from the last person he talked to, despite the reality on the ground. That is far more alarming than the bureaucracy machine standing in the way of his orders. If MiC has the real power, and according to you, Mattis was part of that guard - why did Mattis walk out instead of forcing Trump to stay? Trump's decision making is hell of a lot closer to Rear Admiral Clinton imploring a navy ship to stay for another week because it's already in the port and another week's delay wouldn't hurt anyone. It's the same as the morons who clamored for airdropped into the SuperDome. I'm mean, why can't a commander just decide that actively engaged troops simply pack their bags and go home? Immediately!! You always imply that there's a grand strategy behind everything that Trump does, when his whole life belies that notion.

White, small, shifty from an unheralded program. Cue the usual calls for the likely landing destination. -
Or he just blurted out that US troops would be leaving Syria immediately, because he saw more green clovers that particular morning.

Stephon Gilmore - first team AP All-Pro

He definitely played at a high level in Buffalo, yet somehow the refs have now stopped calling ticky tack PI on him. Amazing how that affects DB rankings.- 261 replies

Contract taking into account his health. Bills concern with Glenn was the accumulation of ailments that affect his game status. It's not the same as a freak injury like a broken bone or knee tear. For Glenn, it's been his ankle, foot, shoulder and lately back. Those start to add up and I'm sure that Bengals are now also worried about Glenn's long term availability. Glenn is by no means a decade long option at LT for them, just like he was no longer that option for the Bills and that's why he was the ideal trade bait.
-
There's no way that Bengals swap picks in the 2018 draft only to come away with a 2nd rounder this year. It would have cost Bills their 1st and 2nd round picks in the '18 draft, which Beane was not going to do. Dawkins' adequate play, Glenn's contract and health made him expendable. Wait until next year to see how durable Glenn will be as his nagging injuries continue to add up.

This is a key pillar of the tariff fight that Orangemanbad started
-
Tariffs are leading precisely to their preordained outcome, that is to stifle economic activity. The real question though, "Is Trump using tariffs as economic warfare to get China to bend, or is he using them to prop up the US economy?" One of those is costly but necessary (but could really spiral out of control). The other is costly and stupid.

Your definition of cornering policy is moving to a socialist regime and promise voters a free lunch that will be paid by the evil businesses, then you are 100% correct. Besides, private business does no good anyway. We should get rid of them or tax them out of existence.
-
We can go round and round on this, but it was clear from day 1 that Beane's priority was to land one of the top QBs and he was not going to get there without moving into Top 5-10. That meant giving up a bunch of assets, that coupled with Wood's retirement and Richie's meltdowns put them in a short-term hole at OL. McBeane's decision wasn't a question for 2018, but for the longer term state of the franchise. Are they better off with Josh Allen, and whatever the OL will look like going into this summer, or with Lamar Jackson and Cordy Glenn, plus what the rest of the OL would have looked like this summer?
-
That's basically how he came across. Piecing together bits of stories about Castillo is that he probably is a very good teacher of technique who can develop players, but is an awful coach to put in an effective blocking scheme for the line that works with the OC's design. In a perfect world, he'd be demoted to Asst OL coach who works with players individually, and stays away from game designs.

You're half right. The sales miss is due to a much faster downturn in China that anyone expected (yes, thanks Trump) and the elongation of the iPhone replacement cycles. Apple new this day of reckoning was coming, they and the market just didn't know when. The flip side is that the app/services side is where the growth will be because it's not as dependent on new handset sales. Their goal now is to have you buy more apps/video/music on the phones that you don't replace as often.

The rebuild strategy is getting much clearer now two seasons in. They were looking at the roster composition in 2019, and put a premium on players who can best fit the culture, scheme and long term budget. The players they got rid of were talented, but clearly didn't fit the long term plans, and they certainly don't look too promising for their new teams' futures. The players that formed that core could still barely eke out a 7-9 season. McBeane also have the best seat in the house to assess the players' health, and so far, they've been right in their prognosis of Glenn, Dareus & Watkins. You and other critics expect them to replace the departed players in one season, which is laughable. McBeane have had their share of misses on offense, and with Pegula's blessing are willing to pay high contracts in the short term to rebuild the roster. The rebuild will continue this year, and there's very little argument that this is the first time in over 20 years that there appears to be a cohesive plan for the rebuild. They finally tore off the old model of building a team and waiting for the QB to fall into their lap.
-
I only commented because you used Paradis as the specific example. Reality is that he was not truly available last year, and Beane's version of the other way to skin that rodent was Bodine. Out of the available list here, who was a better realistic option than Bodine? If you're the GM, do you look at 8 games missed in his first 5 seasons or 18 games missed in his most recent 3 seasons?

See Keep's post above. Obamacare had very little intention to create a Swiss type regulated-market healthcare system. Obamacare was designed to implode the private insurance model where single payer would be the ultimate solution.
