Teague out for 4-5 weeks
nodnarb replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
teague has played well. there's no doubt about it. this is going to be more costly than vincent missing. i hope it's not true, because this team, and particularly this Oline, can't afford any missed starts. -
OT - Scariest movies scenes of all time
nodnarb replied to PastaJoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
put the fuggin lotion in the basket! "monster" stuff doesn't scare me. real life, feasible situations are "scarier" than Jason Around the Corner with an Axe type of stuff. -
Not many HCs/GMs would be willing to do this...

hey, i thought that answer was a little curious too, but i'm going to reserve futher judgment until after the jets game. if we can beat them in their house, it'll reinforce the concept that we're better than our record. IF we can't do that, we're not anything. If we lose to the jets, that's 0-4 vs the AFC. You don't win a wildcard with four conference losses. That will be an insurmountable hurdle. If we lose to the jets, we can start talking about our draft status. How sad is that? -
My hat is off to them for standing face to face with the fans, respecting them in this way, and choosing to answer some really good, tough, pointed questions. I have a lot of respect for the Bills coaches and Tom and Tom, et. al. If only they could find us an impactful DE and FS. I also completely believe that MM will be a great coach. I don't blame him for these losses. These are player error losses - it's as clear as it can be. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=2776 But it's not enough to douse the frustration of losing in the manner we've been losing.

Folks, our D is pretty good. But I don't know what the front office sees in our DEs. I was glad we signed schobel to an extension but thought we overpaid. Kelsay hasn't shown much pass rush ability. Posey hasn't shown much either. Pat is still our best DLineman. when a team blitzes as often as ours did, you should have at least a few sacks, but more important than sacks is consistent pressure. We pressured about three or four times, and we were always a step too slow before brady got it out. I hate reading this article. http://www.eagletribune.com/news/stories/20041004/SP_010.htm

can't argue with any of that except for maybe the moulds thing. i want fuggin HEARINGS on the NFL calls against the bills and non-calls against our opponents. If you stretch it out over the past 6 years, the data will be incontrovertible. harrison's hit on neufeld was clearly 'hitting a defenseless receiver'. 15 yards, first down. Nope. Fletcher's calls were complete BS. No wonder Brady has stayed healthy this whole time. The Refs feel paternally responsible for his head. The two mysterious holding calls vs the raiders that even belichick said were BS. It goes on and on...we could compile a long, long list. Then I'd like to see other team's fans compile THEIR list. I'd bet anything that over a fixed term, our list would be longer, more memorable, and the calls more impactful to the outcome of the games. -mulder (seriously tho)

(OT) funny, and horrable at the same time

senility is the only rational explanation. Unless this man's Mister clucks, resists, and has feathers. -
every team knows about situational football methods, and every team teaches them. the question is, are they working with *these* guys. I do not doubt our coaching staff. they know football better than any of us individually and all of us collectively. they're the best coaching staff we've had since levy's days. whether you believe in it or not, the bills are clearly snakebit. tripping on a linemen's leg for a loss can happen at a point in a game when it doesn't impact the game much. But not on a crucial 3rd down play. Punt. i've never seen a team driving hard with a no-huddle, only to see the momentum stopped by a FUGGIN REF INJURY? Only to the Bills can this happen. I've never seen a running back trip on another dimension while staring at a perfectly crafted hole the size of Missouri, on a critical 3rd down. Punt. rashad baker needs to get his ass lashed publicly. he's made two plays in his short career. both for the opposition. milloy needs to get fuggin healthy, cuz wire stinks. our backup linemen need to KNOW WHAT THE FUGGIN PLAY IS when it's fourth and GAME. Tucker, you suck. What kind of center blows the most critical play of a game, AFTER A TIMEOUT? If you weren't sure, you had TIME TO ASK. Only to the Bills do these things happen. Also, josh reed needs to learn how to catch balls in real live games. drew needs not overthrow TEs and expose them to hits that should have been called for hitting a defenseless receiver. He needs to not underthrow easy curls and quick outs. He needs to SEE HIS FUGGIN HOT READ, for fugg's sake. I've about had it. jets, 30 bills, 10

wake up. "After the bomb to Evans, return by McGee, bomb to Moulds, exciting blitzes by the defense...i would think a fairly close game with the World Champs would have some of you looking up. " every team has completed deep passes. it doesn't make us good that we completed two today for the first time in how long? Every NFL team should be able to do that. It shouldn't be commended and used as a sign of hope. It's to be expected. A great return by mcgee, yes. In a losing effort. So it's irrelevant and will be forgotten. "Exciting blitzes?" How about EFFECTIVE blitzes? Wouldn't they be better? The cardinals put out a better defensive effort vs the Pats than we did. Exciting blitzes? That the bills didn't record a sack is bad enough. That we DIDN"T PUT ANY REAL PRESSURE on brady is what bothers me. wake up. we sent seven at times, and their line picked it up every time. EVERY TIME. There is NOTHING to get excited about. Nothing except that Drew can't be our QB forever and eventually, this coaching staff will weed out the heartless, get good trade value for them, and bring in guys who know how to help their team when it matters most. This team is at risk of losing more than additional games. A culture of losing has spread, and it's not easy to fix that.
-
if we're 1-6 OR 2-5, immediately. get him ready for next year, when we'll have better safeties and better Oline depth and hopefully ONE DE who can rush the passer. i'm sick of brady's clean jerseys and lack of concussions.
-
or we're fuggin roped. nobody said as much, but it was tucker who missed his assignment and blew that play up. He didn't know what the play was, and went ahead anyway. if teague hadn't been hurt, the play wouldn't have gone down like that. another buffalo bills wormhole of reality. another could have been to tack on to our world record CHB tome. 15 sacks in 3 games. Guess what we're on pace for...
-
josh reed has been the biggest disappointment of the offense...more so than mike williams, in my opinion.
-
no they're not. don't be silly. arizona has won a game.

Somebody talk me out of ditching this team!

who else are you gonna root for? -
A LOTTA trade value with those guys, folks. we love em, but we're not sure why. they certainly don't earn it. I'll give moulds a pass, but there's obviously something wrong with a lot of our guys if they continue to make key mistakes. fletcher, travis, name a lineman, any safefy, and of course, drew.
-
you apparently don't know much about those guys, or the situation. donahoe and modrak are best friends, and modrak has said on many occasions that he's satisfied in his role, likes what he does, and wants to stay here until he feels he has satisfied a winning commitment. go back to focusing on bledsoe, because a lack of heart cannot be seen by a fuggin GM. It's not Donahoe's fault that about a dozen of our main players continue to make mental errors that they were never previously known for.
-
it was the playcalling general scheme against the best team in the NFL that kept the Bills in the game. The playcalling wasn't the problem. It was our players. WAKE UP. Our players don't get it done. They don't know how. They have no heart. A few of them do, but they're surrounded by idiots who aren't aware of the situation at hand, and they do stupid things. The Bills beat the Bills. again .

1. The Bills always come up small when it matters most. 2. Travis henry makes the worst mistakes at the worst possible times. 3. Travis is horrible at blitz pickup, and is responsible for HOW MANY hits on drew? 4. Josh Reed comes up small too. The guy can't catch when it matters most. 5. Don't be fooled by a few nice passes from Drew. He's the King of coming up small. 6. The Bills appear to be jinxed. How many times does the worst possible thing happen at the worst possible time? How many times do the Bills get the worst calls against them at the worst possible time? How many other teams in this league can have a playcall miscommunication on 4th down after a timeout? How many times do non-calls happen that should have turned the game? 7. No other teams have snatched victory from the jaws of defeat as often as the Bills. 8. 3 AFC losses do not put us in position to win a wildcard. And there's no way in hell we're going to win the division. 9. This team is full of losers who don't know how to win. How can you deny it? The coaches did not lose this game. THey called a good game. 10. Coy Wire is merely a poor man's larry izzo. THat is, he's not as good a STer as izzo, and just as bad a defender. The man has no business as a starting saftey in the NFL. When was the last time he made a play? 11. We're going to hear all the same excuses all week. And nothing is going to change next week. We have key injuries now on our line, so expect the backups to fug up royally in the coming weeks. The baton will be passed to the next few people who will find a way to lose for us. 12. None of us have the right anymore to blame gregg williams and kevin gilbride for our heartless losses last year. Yes, williams' gameday choices often blew, and gilbride was a lousy, stubborn playcaller. But they still only had heartless losers to work with. Now we can see that more clearly. 13. The personnel team's good decisions aside, they've blown it royally at the safety position. I'll leave it at 13, which is perfect for this team. The Bills will finish 7-9, or 6-10, hand Dallas a high 1st round pick, and the Bills team will continue to believe that Drew gives us the best chance to win in 2005. Sleep well.

if the bills win, we'll all be ecstatic. we'll start to feel like this team can really get *there*. We'll feel better in our daily lives. our thoughts will be better when we mow our lawns. We won't be as profane in the shower, thinking about what might have been. We'll all have a spring in our step. And if the bills lose, there will be a psychological cloud over western new york. A big, dark cumulonimbus. I wonder which wormhole of reality we'll all be tunnelling through. get it done, willya guys....?

"I think McGee has really done a good job for them. I think he’s a very good football player. He plays zones well. He plays man well. He blitzes. He’s a good kickoff returner. He covers well for them on special teams. They really get a lot of production out of him. I think he’s an excellent corner. He played quite a bit in preseason. I think that that’s a pretty solid position for him." also, this article is pretty good - even though it's usa today. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nf...triots/home.htm

detroit and buffalo, eh? maybe good ol' ralph is friskier than we thought...
-
he has. he does. it's not his strong suit, but the coaches have done it a few times. in fact, the TD pass to moulds was a designed rollout.

what fifth grader put that together?

if the bills can win this game, it will give them the confidence they need to get a positive streak going. Look at our upcoming schedule. We either win two of the next three games or the season is busted. We can't go into the second half with four losses to the AFC and expect to make the playoffs. if they win this game, which i believe is possible despite the psychology and the odds and belichick and his chessmaster mystique, i just KNOW the bills will win their next five games - all the way up to the away pats game. If we win sunday, we'll be 6-2 going in to NE. Lose this game, and we'll be lucky to be 3-5 going into week 9. If there ever was a pivotal game, it's this one. Glad it's at home. If you're going: Make it the LOUDEST game ever. ruin your throats. bring noise makers. make it UNBELIEVALBE when the pats are at the line with the ball.
