  1. With so many participants, how could a line be drawn, that would be unanimously agreed upon, yet not be wishy washy? You caould pick any topic (terorism or other) and if you'd expect everyone to agree, you'd need it to be pretty wishy washy. "We all like puppies" might draw it share of objections.
  2. Four days? Did you have to boil water before you read it?
  3. You can't do something like this all at once. We would be completely out of congressmen, senators and workers in the executive branch. BTW, it is likely worse in other countries with even bigger governments. BTW part 2, there is a high degree of likliehood that if you hire too many prosecutors, you will inevitably hire some crooked ones. Then what would we all do? The only guy left would be the last guy on the nightly clean up crew. On second thought.......go ahead.
  4. The fish are just getting what they deserve for trying to eat the poor little wormies. Worms feel pain too you know.
  5. I've read some of Reich's books/works. Basically, he's three steps "short" of being a commie. And how did you know it was Reich being called a dwarf. It could have been Begala.
  6. I'll go with heart.
  7. Old story.... I was in a training program right after college. A class of 15 of us all stayed in a hotel three weeks at a time. Weekends were something else. One night we were all out pretty late and 13 of us went back to the hotel. About 2 hours later the other two idiots had a run in with police. There was no driving involved, everything was walking distance, but there was some kind of verbal altercation. They ended up running from the police. One guy got away, the other one got caught. The guy that got away realized his buddy got caught after he failed to show up back at the hotel room. What does he do? He gets in a suit....plastered. He goes to the police station.....plastered. He tells the police that he is the lawyer representing the recently caught drunk and he needs to be released. Somehow they didn't arrest him, but they didn't release the other guy.
  8. I don't know about quatloos but based on the context, I'll bet you can make a million of 'em if that anecdote you have is for the bird flu.
  9. Atta boy. Accuse someone of lying and then tell him even if he is telling the truth, a blatant slam proves nothing. Classy.
  10. I'm not thinking of V. I'm not thinking of the X-Men either. I'm talking about the lizard people. In addition to all presidents since FDR (whose polio was bs and a lame excuse for his wheelchair which was really needed because the space lizards had not yet adapted to our atmosphere), the Rothschild's and the Whitneys and the Rockefellers were all lizards. It has been all over the Weekly World News but you only read the dem talking points.
  11. I'm sure some of you have heard about the 42 year old teacher in Albany that slept with some of her students. She was sentenced yesterday (plea bargain). The judge in the case had some choice remarks. His grip on reality is not what I'd hope for in a judge. It's the 16 yo's fault you poor girl
  12. One of them lizard thingies? I doubt it. They control everything and would never identify themselves.
  13. I read 3 or 4 posts in here saying: "If he makes that catch the whole complexion of the game changes....." "The drop set the tone....." blah blah blah. Of the 22 players that had bad games yesterday, the 11 on D clearly deserve the most blame. If the other team scores 35 points in their first five drives, one more catch by a WR is utterly meaningless.
  14. If Moulds can decide Holcmb is the starter, why can't the O-line decides who starts on the O-line?
  15. If he makes that catch there is no way the defense gives up 35 points on the first five possessions. They would have at least blocked and extra point and it would have been only 34-10. Reed's fault.
  16. Well, he signed/drafted most of the defense. They have talent and play with the heart of a calico cat. Sometimes the talent wins out. When the going gets tough, the (lack of) heart shows.
  17. At least I have Kaeding on my fantasy team. 17 extra points is still 17 points.
  18. He's the next Dick Butkus.
  19. How much should we all bet on this? The college fund?
  20. But if it all goes to hell because we left too early PJ can come on and blame Bush for leaving too early. You wouldn't want him to have to miss an opportunity like that would you?
  21. "Shouldn't" and "don't" are two different things. ......or they left out the third rail on purpose. I'm sure you're correct about fraud being the issue. Comforting, isn't it?
  22. How general is too general? Do you think if the word "sex" was included in that letter at least once the return rate would have been lower? Do you think the group conducting the test knew that? If so, was that letter complete in your view?
  23. At what point would a school (or another organization) be deemed as deceptive for having the permission slip very generalized but the content very explicit and sexual? Isn't that really a lack of disclosure? If that is how it was really done in this case, it seems to me it was deceptive. If not, would it be equally ok if the volunteer demonstrated to Billy, so Billy would understand? Where is the line?
  24. In an effort to keep the thread from overflowing, I erased some of your quote. It was not meant to discount the deleted sections. I guess my overrding feeling on this is that those claiming it is unwise to have kids in public school are correct. For many, that is not an economic option. This is truly unfortunate for all of us. As for the case stuff, I have to admit to being a little confused. The court says it is not for the court to decide...it is for a separate fora. Could they be a little more helpful and spell the proper fora out or is that too much for a citizen to ask of his government? Maybe they could just have people call up and then put them on hold for a half hour before transferring them to the department of determination of departments. Let me see if I have this right. The parents come first. There will be conflicts between parents and the state. When confilcts arise the state will decide. The parents come first? That seems more like second, no? So that basically says a school can do whatever it wants, whenever it wants but the parents can cling to the illusion of being first?
  25. And while you continue your search for nuance, a first grade teacher is asking a kid about his willy. Sometimes wrong is just wrong.
