  1. It is clear that women in the ME deserve more rights. Is this really the best place to start? Buckle up
  2. You capitalized miami. What kind of trash does that make you?
  3. You know what is worse than an ingrown toenail? Reading about TWO other people's ingrown toenails on a Bill's board the night before they play the frggin dolphins.
  4. I'm not getting into what should/shouldn't be banned but personally I agree on the Calvin thingies being crass. Exception: When a dolphins logo is getting pissed on those things are hysterical. True story: I bought a shirt outside the stadium once that said "dolphins Suck" on the back (The team name was capitalized on the shirt but I refuse). It had a picture of a buffalo seemingly beating up a dolphin on the back too. About a year later I was at my in-laws and it was late. I was in the kitchen and about to go to sleep wearing this shirt. My brother in law sees it and says "don't wear that thing around my kids". I said "ok, but I didn't think the word suck was all that bad." He says "I'm not worried about that...it's the picture." My father in law then chimes in shaking his head "I've been telling him that the shirt is offensive." I go in the bathroom , take off the shirt and take a good look at it: The Buffalo has the dolphin by its snout. I had figured it has just finshed slamming it about like Bam Bam from the Flinstones does with his club. After my BiL's comments I realize that the Buffalo is actually forcing the dolphin to suck. Needless to say I am now paying more attention to my t-shirt purchases.
  5. To be fair, he did offer his opinion that the San Fran thingy was a stupid idea. I mostly originated that old thread as a sarcatic look at how its linked article was written with a side dish of its stupid premise. In my view, his "let's not condemn the whole place until something is actually done" vs. "Indiana sucks because something was proposed" don't really reconcile. I understand that there is a difference between introducing a bill and considering same, but it is still basically an idea, not a law. I don't see how you can indict/poke fun at Indiana and call for reason in condeming SF. That's why I threw in the hair splitting joke.
  6. I use the garbage bags to pick up and throw out all the hairs you split.
  7. When I mocked California here you didn't seem to take quite the same attitude (see post #5). I'm just sayin
  8. Did you notice when Matt Clement got hit in the bean with that line drive that the laces were spinning like crazy? That probably made him dizzy in addition to hurtin......why does no one ever talk about this?
  9. Wow! stuff is really coming to me now. Do you realize that if there were no such things as boats, that Steve Olin might be the Cleveland Indians all time saves leader? The BUFFALO Bisons are Cleveland's farm team and lake Erie is pretty close to Buffalo. What do you see a lot on Lake Erie? You guessed it.......boats. see the connection?
  10. This thread is REALLY making me think. Call me crazy, but if just 1000 or so votes go the other way in Florida in the election of 2000, Bush might have lost to Gore. That thing was very, very close. Florida also has a lot of electoral votes. This should probably be on PPP but I thought it fit the context of this thread.
  11. Are you saying that if a football field was only 99 yards long, there would have been OT in the SB? On the other hand, and I'm not sure anyone has pointed this out, if we were on the metric system like the rest of the world, Dyson would have been WAY short and Norwood's kick would have had more time to hook.
  12. I can't help it. When someone throws a crappy analogy, I am compelled to throw the crap right back.
  13. Did anyone realize that in the movie "The Sixth Sense" that Bruce Willis' character was actually dead the entire time? He just didn't know it.
  14. I don't want to get all stickly on this but a supreme court justice should not be calling the plays at all. They should be saying to others "you shouldn't have called that play" or "that play was fine."
  15. I'm with ya man. The laces topic has not received enough publicity. While we're at it, what do you think of Flutie/Johnson? It's strange how some important people and things go without notice. Back in the day, there was this dude, William Wallace. Scotland would never have been the same without him, yet nobody even knows or discusses this. I know this is a football board so I wouldn't expect it here. I'm just saying. Also, did you know that one of the Apollo missions got stuck in space for a while and they almost didn't make it back? Coverup city.
  16. Agreed in principle. I do think it is possible for a non-judge, dare I say even a non-lawyer to understand human experience.
  17. Doesn't she have to have the capability to grasp the case law, moreso than the experience in creating it/working with it already? I know this would "qualify" a lot more people, but is it so unrealistic to have someone with a slightly different background on a nine member panel? I can see how this would be tougher for our brilliant senators to discern (if she will be capable), but that is their job. They should employ their brilliance. Actually I think it would be somewhat refreshing to have the line of questions coming from both sides and have them go toward capability rather than ideology.
  18. At this point, I don't know whether I am for her or against her. I am curious about your seemingly objective stance that she is not "qualified". What in your view defines a qualification to the supreme court? To me it seems that it takes some real smarts, but that a resume stating Harvard this and Yale that is not automatically required. In summary, the job of the court is to protect the U.S. Constitution from the other two branches of the federal government. Is it really such a complex document and so hard to understand that you need 23 years on the bench to do it? Am I oversimplifying it? If so, why?
  19. Wouldn't it be even funnier if he wrote a letter to the editor of the local paper, putting the moronic County "leaders" incompetence on display for all to see?
  20. You can say rogue this and rogue that all you want, but if GW nominated her and she was on Harry Reid's suggestion list, she is getting in and there is nothing rogue about it. I'm not saying it is good or bad, but hardly rogue.
  21. I'd take Brees. Especially after seeing the score of the game yesterday.
