If: You are in contention and your RB corps is at least adequate, I would pass it up. If: You need an RB to improve this year AND you have a decent #2 QB, I would probably do it. If: You think your 05 team is not going to make the playoffs, I would do it.

Harriet Miers next SC Justice Nominee

I read somewhere that she was on Reid's suggestion list. That ought to ensure that some righties get ticked. Alos, she contributed to the Gore campaign in 88. -

Sounds like we have the makings of a really crappy movie. I'll call John Travolta. -

It was a very stupid thing to say without question. It is clear however that he was trying to be bombastic/ludicrous to point out the ridiculous notion of his caller. Using black people, instead of poor people, is a "better choice" if you're trying to grab someone's attention. He probably could have used the poor baby example and made his point. He didn't. I don't see that as a proof for racism. As controversial as socioeconomic issues are, they pale in comparison to race issues, thus the attention grab. Disclaimer: I do not think it is ok to abort "poor" babies either, just because there is a better correlation to crime. Next time I'd suggest he use "dolphin fan" babies as his example, but even then forced adoption to a proper home is a better way. -

Disclaimer so I don't get painted as a racist: I think all human beings are equal without reservation. (P.S. In reality if anyone wants to take this and run with it calling me a racist go right ahead. I know who I am, and won't get irked by some stupid stojan on a board.) Here you go Mr. Wizard: Per capita, blacks currently have a higher crime rate than the cross section of america. This is due to many factors, including, but not limited to, economic circumstances. Bennett's ridiculous example, purposely ignores all those other factors and draws an improper direct correlation between skin color and crime. This is done in an effort to be ridiculous. He takes it further and says basically "if you take away the skin color, the crime goes with it. Stupidity in an effort to be stupid. For round numbers lets say 3 in 10 blacks will commit a crime, and 2.5 in 10 is the overall rate. This would make the rate for the non-black population somewhere less than 2.5 by definition. Say 2.3. If skin color was the only factor feeding those rate......need I go on? What BB did not factor in to his thought process was the firestorm that would ensue from his comments. This firestorm is not helpful to anyone, black or white. It was predicatble though, so I do think BB was pretty stupid in choosing his example. -

You're much smarter than that. He was saying, that since there is higher crime/arrest rate among blacks....... He was being purposely ludicrous. He was giving an example of how statistics can be used to reach FALSE conclusions. His statement was in no way racist, nor did it even hint at some underlying racism. You know that. Don't wordsmith it to try and make it seem otherwise. FWIW IMO, The statement does not prove he is unbiased either. It is what it is, and nothing more. A bad choice of words/example to shoot down an idiot caller. -

And here I thought that PNN lost their funding when Yeltsin came in. Is that on digital cable or do you need the dish? 2 things: 1. Proletariat News Network in case you were wondering. 2. I don't know/care how to spell proletariet but i probably have a 50% hit rate. -
That's why I picked all of those ties. It was pointless to try the W/L thing. It also gives me great comfort knowing that there is even less chance I'll be hit by a met....OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Son of a.........

My predictions were: Sep 11 Houston Tie Sep 18 @Tampa Bay Tie Sep 25 Atlanta Loss Oct 2 @New Orleans Win Oct 9 miami WIN Oct 16 N.Y. Jets Tie Oct 23 @Oakland Tie Oct 30 @New England Tie Week 9 BYE Nov 13 Kansas City Tie Nov 20 @San Diego Tie Nov 27 Carolina Tie Dec 4 @miami Win Dec 11 New England Win Dec 17 Denver Tie Dec 24 @Cincinnati Tie Jan 1 @N.Y. Jets Rained out and made up as part of an 06 seson opening doubleheader Record 4-1-10 If you ignore the number of W/L/T's and just focus on the total, you'll notice mine is 15. I'm probably the only one that predicted 15 total games. Now factor in that we ARE NOT PLAYING AT NEW ORLEANS as the schedule had outlined. This means that, technically, our total will be only 15. This renders all entries moot and your "schedule" a fraud. I can either file a class action suit on behalf of all entrants to this fraudulent sweepstakes or you can just cough up that dinner to me based on the total of 15. It's up to you.

He must have had a very big signing bonus being number 4 in the draft. If he got a 7 year deal, then SD would have to eat 5/7's of the bonus against next year's cap. That could be a problem. I'm not sure if there are rules against him "paying back" his bonus to the Chargers just before getting a new bonus of equal size from the Jets. In any event, signing Vinny take about an hour. Cutting him would take a minute. Figuring out a deal with Rivers involves a lot more time. If they do it, Vinny is back to the deli.

Didn't Dr. Evil (Austin Powers) ask the tiem tested question: "Is it too much to ask for you people to get me some friggin sharks with friggin laser beams on their heads?"

The tin men. That's how much heart they have. The offense stank as did the playcalling, but the D has to do better than long drives where TJ Duckett and Warrick Dunn run through them. 45 seconds left in the half and a 59 yard run?

JP has to take a big part of the blame, but every time the Bills ran the ball in the 2nd half it worked. Why not just keep doing it?

Most innaccurate passer in the ENTIRE league

I'd also take an incompletion over a sack, fumble, return for touchdown with a dramatic chin strap pull and look of disgust that lasts 12 seconds until the blank stare look is able to re-boot itself. Does that count for another one? -
I guessed wrong. From the title of the thread and the PPP location I thought for sure another Kennedy committed rape or murder. This is much worse.

Ginsburg was the chief counsel for the ACLU. We're all American, we all like civil liberties, lots of people are in unions, therefore Ginsburg does properly represent our views. Use your logic man. -

Why should he read it from the eyes of a first timer only? Let's take you for example. You are clearly a genius, have over 1800 posts and you couldn't figure out it was sarcasm. Surely if you can't figure it out, no one can. Don't you get dizzy with the world spinning around you all day like that? -

Yes, it was TB. Frank Middleton or some name like that. He ended up with the Raiders and I think he is out of football now. -
It worked. Thanks all. I didn't do anything different, it just finally worked. (And yes I know what a refresh button is, and tried it.)

It is a jpeg under the lmiet. I just uploaded it and it said it worked but then brought back my old one instead.

Clear the cache in my browser, or is there some TBD cache setting somewhere?

I'm trying to update my avatar. I think I'm doing everything right, but it isn't working. Any tricks to it? It seems to me the same thing happened last time. Sorry for the bandwidth.

You're right. Our weakness has been exposed. Now if they can just invent one of those weather machine thingies like Simon Bar Sinister and shoot hurricanes at us weekly, we will be defeated. It's induspitable and all of us Sweet Polly Purbreads with our soft underbellies are toast. -
