I think it's time that Marv has a sit down with Wills and his agent. Lay all the cards on the table and get down to brass knuckles. It's not a crime for him to not want to be here (the crime's not playing full out if that's what he's doing), but if he genuinely feels he doesn't want to play here then what's the harm in finding this out so that the Bills can look for a trade to a team he'd like to play for. If the trade value isn't there for the Bills then all parties could agree that Willis will play out the 2007 season and see where his heart and the team's heart are at a year from now. If a trade situation does surface and is agreeable to the Bills, Willis and his prospective team then the deal is done. Elway didn't want to play for the Colts, Eli didn't want to play for the Chargers so it's not a stretch to think Willis may not want to be a Bill. Heck, even Jim Kelly didn't seem so keen on coming here, but at least he had a major change of heart. Willis may say he wants to remain a Bill, but that still doesn't mean it's not damage control mumbo-jumbo. It seems ever since Willis got here three years ago that this question of his allegence to the city of Buffalo has always been the white elephant in the room. Does he want to be the star runningback in a major metropolis, or does he want to be the star runningback in the small town of Buffalo, NY? I hope Marv and Willis can put this to rest once and for all this offseason.

Pats will win, and it won't be close
1billsfan replied to Dr. K's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel the opposite way. I think this is the Pats playoff Waterloo. The Patriots were able to to get the win against the feeble minded inexperienced Chargers, but the Colts will be a different story. Their defense has been playing "lights out" and Manning and Co. are at home inside the dome ready to explode. I'm throwing out the recent Colt failures against the Pats and thinking that they'll make Brady and Co. pay in a big way for all of their previous disappointments. Normally blowouts aren't enjoyable to watch, this blowout will be. -
I think what they want to do is stop the run at all costs. If a DT falls to them that can stop the run but doesn't necessarily fit the the scheme they'll fit the scheme around the player that can stop the run. At least I hope they'd do this. What we have on the defensive line is clearly not going to get the job done. Tripplett was below average, Williams does look solid, McCargo had 6 tackles in 5 games , Jefferson had 2 tackles. Kelsay DE isn't any world beater either, we could upgrade there. They also need to upgrade the middle linebacker postion as well. I see the draft going: Willis LB, Tyler DT, OL in third Okoye DT, OL, LB in the third Anderson DE, Tyler DT, LB in the third This team is going to concentrate on finishing the rebuilding of the defense. If they fail to upgrade the DT position this offseason, the Bills will still have major problems stopping the run next season.

http://www.nfl.com/stats/teamsort/NFL/DEF-...&_1:col_2=6 Take a look at the top rushing defenses in the league (yards per game). With the exception of Pittsburgh, they all have the cream of the crop of run stuffing defensive tackles. That's not to say I don't want us to get Patrick Willis (who would no doubt help us), but if there's a top notch run stuffer sitting there at 12 the Bills might be foolish to pass one up again. Did you notice where the Bills are on that list?

Did you not watch our D line get blown off the ball with regularity last season? Yet there are no pickups in FA, and no DTs or DEs drafted? David Deihl of the Giants is the answer to our pathetic running game? You advise they shouldn't draft any defensive lineman and then only draft at offensive line with their 6th round pick? This has to be a joke.
-
Watch the Bills go and take Jamaal Anderson given this scenario. They may figure that we need to finally get some get pressure on Brady and this is the guy to do it. Plus it may help the play of the DTs if we had two havoc creating DEs. Kelsey is an average DE that gives you average results. Don't be suprised if they take a look at DE.

Looks like no end in sight for the Patriots.

They certainly didn't look like world beaters on Sunday. If not for the collassal blunders that the Chargers dished out they should have lost by 11 points. Their linebackers look old and slow, they have no running game and Brady looks really bad when he gets pressured. I think they lose this week, Manning finally gets to the big show. -
Jerry Sullivan gives it to Willis with both barrels
1billsfan replied to duey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Both the Willis and the women are to blame here. Fatherless children have negative effects on society as a whole (welfare, crime ect). Unprotected sex also has negative effects on society (STDs). While many are single parents for death and divorce reasons, random care-free conception which appears to be the case here is the height of irresponsibility. The women don't know they will get pregnant if they're having sex while not on the pill? Willis doesn't know he'll be a father many times over by having unprotected sex? Willis is living the life of a "player", and the women are looking to get pregnant by a pro athlete with a pile of Benjamins to suck off from. They're all lowlifes. -

One time = a foolish mistake Two times = a pattern Three times = a lowlife I got no problem with that comment. No problem at all. -
Ralph and Marv aren't getting any younger so maybe they just say to hell with it, you can't take it with you so lets really try to bring the Bills back all the way in 2007: Sign: Clements CB Steinbach OG Daniel Graham TE Fletcher LB Draft: Okoye DT 1st Round Sears OG 2nd round Baker WR or Leonard FB 3rd round Best MLB available 4th round This would give the Bills an impressive roster that would have a very good shot at playing in January again.
-
Right now, I see the Bills trading back in the first round (mid-twenties) and selecting Patrick Willis LB (picking up a third in the process). Then in the second, I see them taking the best offensive lineman availible that can start at RG. Then they nab a WR and CB in the third. DT will try to be addressed in FA or the later picks in the draft (I'm sure they're still banking on McCargo like they will be with Youboty at CB position). To me this looks like the best way to approach it. I'm also sure that all bets are off if certain unexpected players fall to us in the first round.

So the refs made sure the Pats, Bears, Saints and Colts all won this weekend? What penalties/calls can you point to that supports your agrument? I thought the refereeing was fair, I didn't see any team get hosed on any calls. If the Saints fail to win the Superbowl this year will you come back here and admit your conspiracy theory was just plain silly?

I think the problem is where LT starts preaching about class when his own teamate markets hats and t-shirts of his world famous "showboat" dance that's classless in and of itself. People in glass houses... Yes, the Pats weren't classy either for doing that stuff. But that wasn't the topic, the topic was about LT's sermon on the mount on who's classy or not. I do hope the Colts can somehow muster up a freakin win next week. I can't take anymore coverage of Patriots, enough already.
-
Oh please. From what I read and heard, the Chargers were doing a loads of talking the week prior to this game. Not only to the media but to their friend and ex-teamate Caldwell. About what they were going to do to the Pats and how the Pats didn't have a chance. They deserved to get the Merriman's "lights out" dance (now were copyrighting in your face dances?!) shoved into their collective faces. If you can't take it then don't do it to other teams that you beat up on them during the regular season. I have zero sympathy for LT or the Chargers on this stupid topic.
-
Taking about yourself in the third person isn't classy. Saying you're so classy isn't classy. Being worried about who's disrespecting who when one of your teamates head-butted a Pat which helped give away the game for your team wasn't classy. Those guys are the biggest bunch of wussies, no wonder why they choked.
-
The Merriman lights out dance is classless to begin with. Talk about being a hipocrite and a sore loser.
-
Isn't the "lights out" dance, his teamate performs after a sack, a disrespectful and classless act? He definitely needs to STFU.
-
If I were him I'd be more pissed at my coach for challenging a replay Stevie Wonder could see had no chance of being reversed. He looks stupid on this. He gets made at another player for doing a showboat dance that his teammate does to showboat opposing teams???? I'm with Joesixpack on this one, STFU LT. While you're at it get a original knickname, that one's been taken.
-
I really wouldn't call this a typical Pats game. Brady had four turnovers (three interceptions and a fumble) which was shocking to me. They were practically begging to get beaten today but the Chargers choked so many times that it's still hard to comprehend the incompetant play and coaching flubs. The Pats had 51 rushing yards while LT had almost 200 yards combined rushing and receiving, yet he doesn't even touch the ball in a key three and out series towards the end of the game. In the end, the Pats had to escape so many choke jobs by the Chargers, before Brady eventually became Brady again, that I lay the outcome of this game at the feet of the Chargers. The Pats were just there for the ride today.

Could the Bills get the Jets 1st rounder

Even the most ardent detractors of Willis know that if the guy ever got his head on straight and gave a dang that he could be one of the top 5 backs in the league. He's big, young and already has two 1000 yards plus rushing seasons behind some very very poor offensive lines. Irons (who many have tabbed as the Jets pick) is no where near potentially as good as Willis. In effect, Willis needs some maturing and polishing. So Mangini could get a highly motivated back (I think it would completely piss Willis off) that they no longer have to get embarrassed by and who'd come willing to sign a cap friendly extension. This would be a risky thing for the Bills to do. Given that the Bills and Jets are in the same division the price tag would have to be the Jets 21st pick in the first round. How many people had us taking Donte Whitner last year, or Willis when he was drafted, or a used up Bledsoe who was traded for a first rounder? You have no idea how possible something like this might end up being. Now I realize you have very low self-esteem and need the approval of the crowd, but you must be aware that some here could care less about how many people see it their way. In case you were wondering, I'm one of them. Carry on. -

Thank you for confirming that you're nothing but a lowlife. By the way, it's "you're an idiot", not "your an idiot". Just thought I'd clear that one up for you. -

Bring it wise-@ss. We kick the crap out of the Jets using McGahee every year since he's been here. Given the choice between Irons and McGahee I'd even choose McGahee. -
Another thing is also clear, Deuce McAllister's a runningback that runs with heart and refuses to go down without a fight. Willis is not that type of runningback.
