Why does everyone hate Willis so much?!?!?!
1billsfan replied to 83evans83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's obvious you don't give a you-know-what about the history and tradition of the BUFFALO Bills. Please stop telling those who do how we should have taken Willis' comments. It's become increasingly annoying to say the least. If they move I'll cease being a Bills fan, whether they're called the Bills or the Automatons. Try talking to an over 40 Baltimore Ravens fan for some perspective on this issue. -

Willis just doesn't look like he brings it every game. This may be a myth, but from many Bills fans eyes they see a player that doesn't hit the hole with much "intestinal fortitude". They see a player who's heart doesn't look like it's there every game. Why? He may have interests other than football, or he may just be a guy that can't break any tackle at all. The running offensive line blocking is a problem but not to the extent that Willis couldn't have gotten 1000 yards (even in 14 games). I see a player that enjoys the lifestyle more than giving his all for the Bills and it's fans. It may be a phase he matures out of, or it may just be that he needs an all-pro offensive line like the one that Emmitt Smith had in Dallas. Either way many here see a player that is going into his last season and they just want to cut their loses and get as much as they can for him. His comments about the team moving was the coup de grace for any fuzzy feelings that some fans, including myself, had for the player. -
Since I see a lot of mock drafts have them taking Kenny Irons, I wonder if the Bills dangled McGahee in front of them that they'd take the bite. This is a guy that kills them every year so maybe they think more highly of him than he's actually worth. If this scenario ever became reality, I'd do the trade in a second and draft DT Oyoke and MLB Willis. Then try to pry Turner from San Diego for this years 3rd and next years 1st.

20 RB's in a 32 team league are better than McGahee

What are you the official crybaby cop? Thats the second thread you've used this putdown. BTW, your boyfriend Willis runs like a sissy. -
Real simple, I hope the Bills boot MaGahee.

The only one crying is Willis' new baby, the rest of us are done with mr. supercool dude from the u and hoping that Marv is on the same page. If he stays there are 52 other players to support. Will you cry if Willis does get the boot? -

You mean the kind of love Ike Turner had for Tina? I don't think God is happy about the whole three baby momma situation. He's "Talkin Proud"! Gee, he puts a whole new spin on that slogan. Try a little harder Willis, 1000 yards should be a lay up for the best runningback in the NFL. BTW, I already read those golden nuggets Pete. Thanks just the same. -

By making that comment, Willis was being disloyal to the City of Buffalo and the fans of their beloved Bills. You're right, he clearly isn't worried about the "feelings" of Bills fans. I'm not worried about Willis' feelings either. I just think he should do what he does best and go f himself. -

It seems the only thing that irks you are Buffalo fans that have a negative attitude towards Willis' support on the team's possible move to Toronto. Die hard Bills fan and Buffalonian? That's a good one. -

Why do you care so much about what people think or say about Willis? You keep on expounding about this over and over again. Sorry if some people give a crap what their supposed "best runningback in football" says and does off the field. You can sweep it under the carpet all you want but players actions off the field sometimes DO have an impact on the team. It's called being a distraction. Tiki Barber's team began to tank when he started to open his mouth, McGahee tanked as soon as he said he was the best runningback in football. Our team tanked last season when the players started to yap it up to the media instead of pulling together. TO's team would have been much better off without the constant distraction he created. Willis is clearly a knucklehead. Granting an interview to penthouse? In a word, moronic. Saying the Bills moving to Toronto would be a good thing? A 10 on the moron scale. Getting less than 1000 yards this season? Simply priceless. Knocking up three diffrent women? Jackass. He's lost every last bit of his cache with the Bills fans that you're upset with who are embarassed and at the end of their rope with Willis. Get off the high horse because we're not going away anytime soon. In fact, the numbers will only increase as long as that moron stays here. -
I really worry about this kids age. He'd be a mere boy playing in a big mans position. Is there any tougher position to play than the nose tackle? I see 19 years old and that scares me off more than just a bit. Plus I heard he's more of a developmental guy that will be really good in two or three years. This is not what you are looking for with the first round pick. You want the guy to have an immediate impact on the team. If he's a sure thing from the get go then I wouldn't be too against it. It does seem there are some risks taking Okoye.
-
The first round pick needs to be an impact player. It could be a wide receiver, runningback, defensive tackle, offensive lineman, linebacker or a cornerback. But whatever the pick is, it needs to be the player that will give the Bills the best opportunity to put them over the the top in the quickest amount of time. All bets are off with that pick. If they pick Lynch as that guy then so be it because Willis won't be in a Bills uniform after next season (see: poor performance, character issues). There will still be 6 other picks left to be made, the front office already proved they can find talent in the later rounds.

Willis crossed the line

You made absolutely no sense with that one. That's ok, Willis rarely makes any sense either. -

You're just not getting the magnitude of what Willis did with his comment. You might be in denial right now. We ALL KNOW WHAT HE SAID already! Exactly where did I take McGahee out of context? Willis said IF, we know he said IF! I even wrote down that he said IF in my reply! Being supportive regarding the Bills moving ANYWHERE out of Buffalo is like taking a dump in the perverbial stew. He's a gonner and I will be very happy when he gets the boot. -

I find your head in the sand BS response to McGahee's remark to be rather obnoxious. It doesn't matter if he said a hundred complementary things about Buffalo and it's fans. Let me put it to you this way so that you may understand it a little better. Lets just say Willis was making a nice stew with a whole bunch of tasty meats and veggies. It smells wonderful and he's making it for the city of Buffalo and its fans. Yummy, yummy. Then Willis proceeded to pull down his pants and take a big dump in it. Would you still want to accept that stew? No? But there's still a whole bunch of yummy stuff in there. Do you get the picture now? This is what McGahee did when he said that the possibility of moving the Bills to Toronto would be a "good situation" and added, "if they're going to put a team there they should just bring the Buffalo Bills to Toronto. Case closed". I hope he just punched his ticket out of town and doesn't play another down for the BUFFALO Bills! -
The definitive top 10 picks in the 2007 draft.

I've read that Hall's top ten status is on shaky ground. He'd apparently had been burnt a bit too much for the pro scouts liking. -
Specifically what are folks complaining about...
1billsfan replied to Pyrite Gal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All signs point to Patrick Willis in the first round. If not the first round then a second round LB will be used as Fletcher's replacement. This team is smack dab in the middle of a youth movement and it looks like the team would rather train a rookie than resign someone as old as Fletcher. I think Fletcher will continue to play well in a place like New England where they're in a maintain, not a rebuilding mode. I think the logic is why resign someone who'll need to be replaced any year now. Though he showed flashes of brilliant play, overall it looked for most of 2006 that Fletch is on the downward slope. That slope is far quicker for a middle linebacker than other positions. -
***Official*** Who do you want in Free Agency

Whitfield is a walking personal foul penalty. No way do I want him on the Bills. -
So wrong... http://proxy.espn.go.com/melkiper/index.html Unless you think you know more than Mel Kiper, you're way way off.

Here's a great article about Quinn Pitcock... http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/sto...&id=2722314 Sounds like just the run stuffer we've been looking for since big Pat left. He also sounds like he's on the opposite end of the motivational scale to Sam Adams.

Plus you can actually understand Evans and Losman when they speak! Intelligibility, production and effort should be rewarded. I'm on board!

The Giants will be in the market for a runningback (and trying to keep up with the Jerry Jones). If they offer their second for Willis (which is fair for both teams) I hope the Bills take it. But the Bills can't make the first call, it would have to be initiated by the Giants. This would be a major distraction if it were to fall through and Willis stayed on the team.

A bunch of guys might become cap casualties...

Already covered this topic, and it's still on the first page! http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=58057 -
You're going a bit overboard. Philly, Baltimore and Denver will be tough games (not impossible, just very tough to pull the win out). The other teams you mentioned are not all that good. In fact, I expect the Bills to be better than those teams next season.
