  1. The whole premise is flawed. NFL players and coaches don't care about future draft pick slots. They're professionals who want and play to win. They seriously don't give a damn about Andrew Luck or anybody else. I believe that 2010 is the Bills "tipping point" season. The point and time when they truly started to rise back up from the MCM play. I see a core group of guys that, though they haven't won, they're only a few players away from playoff contention. I believe in Ryan Fitzptarick. If Eli Manning can win a Superbowl then he can do it. Fitzpatrick reminds me a lot of Manning. Just give him one more solid offensive lineman and add three defensive players who can actually play, sky's the limit.
  2. http://endoftheamericandream.com/archives/illinois-bankrupt "But it just isn't the ongoing expenses that are causing a massive financial headache for the state government of Illinois. The state's massively underfunded pension system has become a financial black hole which seemingly has no solution. The state has just kept borrowing billions upon billions of dollars to make scheduled payments, but that just keeps making the state's financial situation even worse." "Their pension is the most underfunded in the nation," Karen S. Krop, a senior director at Fitch Ratings told the New York Times recently. "They have not made significant cuts or raised revenues. There’s no state out there like this. They can’t grow their way out of this." "Actually, it seems like almost every place where a liberal political machine has been entrenched for decades (Illinois, California, Detroit, etc. etc.), the local governments are now facing financial nightmares of unprecedented magnitude." This is what happens when you have decades worth of corrupt politicians making financial agreements for votes, knowing full well that they would be long gone before the s**t hit the fan. Well the s**t is hitting the fan. There's no way these pensions end up getting paid. There's no way that these obscene public salaries do not get slashed with a machete. This is crazy. The party is over.
  3. Holy ****! Not only the pensions, but what about those administration salaries???? Those are freaking sick. These are publicly funded jobs, right? Do the people of Illinois know how much they're being robbed?
  4. You should not have admitted that you were sober. Now you have no excuse.
  5. Next time, try reading the article. The length of time was cut in half, not the monetary benefits themselves. If you still haven't found a job in two freaking years then you aren't trying hard enough, you're too picky or you're a flat out freeloader. Americans have reached their capacity of having pity for the unemployed even before year two kicks in. There's a whole lot of anger out there when people hear story after story of unemployed people turning down jobs.
  6. Liberals banished Christmas, so they can't have it both ways. Since there's no more Christmas, there should be no "guilt" attached to voting against extending a third year of free money to lazy people.
  7. in pension money, seriously... http://www.californiapensionreform.com/2010/10/10-former-san-diego-city-employees-will-split-61-million-dollars-in-pensions/ ...and they elect Jerry Brown as the man to fix California???? Fat chance getting the new congress to sign off on any sort of bail out for that clusterfck. This is going to be a real interesting year coming up. Unemployment, illegals draining the system and continually driving blue collar wages lower, unions stomping their feet and throwing tantrums.
  8. But here in the Obama Nanny State (formerly known as America) we extend them to 3 freaking years!? Check out this article. Wow, so studies show that lazy people get off their duffs when the benefits run out. Would we EVER see this on ABC, CBS, NBC?... http://economix.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/08/16/why-denmark-is-shrinking-its-social-safety-net/ "It shows that between 2005-7, the number of people who got jobs during their four years of benefits — the green line – rose at the beginning before dropping sharply, then spiked as benefits were about to run out, only to plummet after. The red line shows similar behavior in 1998, when Denmark’s benefit period was five years." Of course we would never see this in the mainstream media. Where they believe that everyone is a weak and frail individual who needs the government to take care of them and their families. I saw that there was little outrage here over the extension of benefits to 3 years. That's sad. This is supposed to be America, we now have to shell out three freaking years of unemployment benefits? We've officially become "softer" than Denmark????...and people laugh at the prospect of Palin beating Obama???? Give ME a break please.
  9. If they lose to Miami then I think the Jets will end up having to beat the Bills in the last game to get into the playoffs. I'm going to that game, so of course I hope this is the case and the Bills can play the roll of ultimate spoilers by beating the Jets at their home. Could you imagine how the Jets fans would feel if this were to happen?
  10. He hasn't. Just listening to Mike Francesa WFAN and he played a clip of Rex's press conference today where Rex compared his team to the 85 Bears and how they lost on their way to the Superbowl. Francesa WENT OFF on him and I was LMAO. Rex is delusional.
  11. The Pats would be almost nothing without Tom Brady. Their drafts have been pretty average over the last few years and the main thing that keeping them on top is their veteran offensive line, a few brilliant roll players they added through trade (Welker, Woodhead) and of course an all time great QB who's still in his prime in Tom Brady.
  12. That looks like a defense which is getting their act together. I have a feeling we're not going to like this years Superbowl. Maybe Brady and Belichick will want to go out on top? Ok, we get it, you're the best...now just go away.
  13. How embarrassing is it to be talking and puffing yourself up so much all year, only to get owned by your big bother on MNF. I never bought into the Jets as being world beaters. As unlucky the Bills have been in games this year, so to has the Jets been lucky in their games. This division is just waiting on Brady to hopefully retire early.
  14. I agree. I think the Steeler loss sucked a little bit of the life out of them. They're human and it happens to the best of teams. Then came the injuries to the line, the ridiculous favoritism of the refs' calls, and the total meltdown of McKelvin which then made this an easy one for me to file away under "just one of those days". Too many people here panicking over one bad game with plenty of extenuating circumstances. Though we still need at least four really good players to become playoff worthy, we've still got a good core group. I'm not even remotely concerned about yesterday.
  15. After a game like this, how can you praise Poz, yet get on Johnson and Spiller's case???? Are you kidding me? Other than these past two games, at least Stevie Johnson has shown Bills' fans some serious playmaking skills this season. Has "THE POZ" done anything even remotely like performing at a high level in his entire NFL career? You're getting on Spiller's case? Did you not see that the line was decimated yesterday? C'mon man, you are much better than this. You're slipping. Seems you took a day off like our team did.
  16. I don't think you get how much this team has changed since that Jet game. This team is a hundred times better than that team was. That team was just a collection of guys who were still learning new systems, still learning their rolls, still learning about themselves, still waiting on a leader to give them hope. Well they may not be beating the good teams, but the only reason that they aren't is because they're beating themselves. Not because they aren't any good as you would naively suggest. This is the first time the Bills have a REAL locker room since the Wade Phillips days. This is a TEAM again. Maybe you're just to young to know what it is that I'm talking about. That's ok, just watch them and learn.
  17. Fitzpandemonium!...sorry, couldn't resist.
  18. The Pats go as Brady goes. If the Bills can add a couple of key pieces on defense that will get in his face and knock him down, the Bills can over take them next year. The Jets are a very good team, but one that always seems beatable. The Ravens are aging quickly on defense and their offense is above average. They are not getting better. If the Steelers lose Harrison, they will be very beatable. The Bills shown this season that they are able to go toe to toe against this team that expected a fight by the Bills and still needed a lucky dropped pass in OT to beat them. You're giving these teams far too much credit. The NFL is a very watered down league right now. Peyton and Brady can no longer lay claims to be the champions in waiting like they were this past decade. If the Bills can add a few key pieces on defense they'll be a very hard team to beat next season and will even have a chance to win the division if certain key pieces fall into place. The tide is turning, you just refuse to see it.
  19. I was never a fan of the Maybin draft pick. When I look at him, I see a guy who looks and acts like a kid. At that young of an age, it can take a couple of years to thicken up a bit and also grow up mentally. The guy has a very unique build with lanky arms and legs, and he's very quick. If in time they can teach him to use that arm length and quickness to avoid blocks and get sacks then I'm willing to wait at least till the end of 2011 before I come to a conclusion on this guy. A guy that I never even wanted in the first place.
  20. I can't beat out The Amish Rifle or Fitzaglobeinmyhelmet, those are classic!... Here's a few second raters that I thought of... Fitzycent Ryan "Ball Room" Fitz Fitztshirttime
  21. I consider Aaron Maybin to still be a boy and it would be stupid for the Bills to cut him after only two years. We won't see Maybin's true potential reached until year 3, 4 or 5. Can he get bigger and stronger and grow more mature as a person? These are the questions that Bills fans will have to wait on for another year or two. The worst thing the Bills could do is cut bait and watch a team like the Ravens or Steelers pick him up and turn him into a pass rushing monster. So lets let him grow up a little before we become officially through with him. Geez, look how long it took Ryan Fitzpatrick to lock into his position, what 6 years? Though I didn't like the pick, I still believe that Maybin has a long shot chance for a big pay off.
  22. Who's the better team, the 9-2 Tampa Bay Buccaneers or the 6-5 San Diego Chargers?
  23. With internet and satellite radio, I'm surprised that they would still have any ratings at all. I predict they'll eventually lose whatever audience they still have to a point where the station will be forced to find people who can use critical thinking with their Buffalo sports talk. Once Buffalo fans find their "voice" at these other outlets or a rival station, it will be all over for WGR.
  24. Living in New Jersey, I listen to Mike Francesa on a pretty regular basis. He's widely regarded as the best talk show host in the country. Though he's rarely favorable to the Bills (although oddly enough, this is the first year he's been complimentary towards them in a very long time), the guy knows NFL football and gives clear and coherent reasons for his opinions. After reading a few posts regarding these two local Buffalo radio hosts, I decided to tune in over the internet a couple of times. It's shocking how these two sports radio host could actually be employed. There is literally ZERO critical thinking going on with these guys. It's almost as if you can hear their brains farting before a comment comes spewing out of their mouths. They are an embarrassment. WGR should be hearing it from the local fans on a daily basis. If they got enough complaints then they would for sure find a real entertaining and insightful Buffalo sports radio personality. My suggestion is that you tune into WFAN over the internet if you want to hear what real professional analysis of NFL football sounds like. You're not going to hear about Bills football, but that's what TSW is for. The analysis here is 100 times better than anything that those two failures could poop out of their noggins. http://newyork.cbslocal.com/category/sports/ Francesa is on right now!
  25. With all of the Irishmen here like Fitzptatrick and Gailey...how about we go with a name like Kyle "McStuffin" Williams. It may not sound tough, but it sure sounds funny.
