Fred Jackson's last three games... vs Baltimore: 21 carries 3.1 average vs KC: 20 carries 3.35 average vs Chicago: 4 carries for 6 yards 1st half It's clear that Gailey had about enough of the Jackson's recent lack of production and felt his hand was forced to start calling more passing plays which what was the only thing remaining that worked on this team. I hope CJ Spiller starts this week and be given about 20 carries to see what he can do. Jackson is a very good backup player, he just doesn't possess the breakaway speed and agility we need. 3 and 4 yard chucks isn't going to cut it. You need the occasional 20 to 30 yard break out run.

Fitzpatrick the best NFL Quarterback for the buck
1billsfan replied to timmyk12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's futile to try to explain something to someone that they either refuse, are in denial about or are just too unintelligent to comprehend. You and I know that the Bills are 32nd (that's DEAD LAST) in defense, have only one interception this season and have no running game to speak of. Ryan Fitzpatrick has zero margin of error. Not even Peyton Manning nor Tom Brady could win games under the circumstances that Fitzpatrick is faced with. That's not saying that he is as good as them, but the fact is that,in the six games that he's played, he's resurrected a long dormant passing game which has been dead since 2002. He's the only reason the Bill have been close enough to win. They see our support for Ryan Fitzpatrick as confirmation that he's "the chosen one" rather than the reality of it being our excitement at the possibility that he's "the chosen one" given his very good and consistent play this season. 13 TDs in six games? Yeah, I'll take that. 250 YDS per game? Yeah, I'll take that. So they shoot back "Yeah, I'll take a win please!" And so it goes around and around and around... This team is finally watchable again. I have had a hundred times more fun watching a "go for the throat" team at 0-8 than watching a "scared to make mistakes" 7-9 team. If Fitzpatrick had started the season and this team had a merely average defense then they would be 4-4 and in contention for a playoff spot. That's how I view it. You might as well give up on the idiots. They're clearly too far gone to be able to have a rational and intelligent football conversation. -
Vikings players "hate" their head coach
1billsfan replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The minute I heard Childress mocking his starting quarterback at his postgame press conference was the minute I thought he became the ex-head coach of the Vikings. He has no business being a head coach. Mocking your QB???? Now that's what you call being a douche bag. Childress will get fired and never be an NFL head coach again because of what he said in that press conference. -
Can Fitzpatrick Overcome His Choking?
1billsfan replied to NaPolian8693's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fans like you and NaPolian who consider Fitzpatrick a choker are feeble-minded. You watch but obviously can't comprehend a missed extra point, the 1 interception in 8 games by our defense, the fumble in overtime in Baltimore, the lack of a running game that forces a coach to call passing plays in the 4th quarter when running the clock would be best. I pity you. -
Fred Jackson is a very good backup. He just doesn't posses the break away speed and cutting ability needed to be an every down back. The guy is a great at picking up the blitz and runs strong, but that unfortunately is not going to cut it. Now is clearly time for the Bills to insert CJ Spiller as the starter and see if he can be the future star runningback he was drafted for. Will this put Fitzpatrick in danger on passing plays? Perhaps, but that's the risk you have to take at this point and time. Jackson obviously isn't the answer, we need to see if Spiller is the answer before heading into the offseason.

A question for the more experienced(older) folks
1billsfan replied to Chandemonium's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Archie Manning was a second overall pick who's career was hard to judge based on a horrible line that got him killed on a regular basis. Most experts feel that he would have been an elite QB were he on a solid team with a real line and defense. Ryan Fitzpatrick is a guy who's just starting to overcome the stigma of being a 7th round draft pick with a sustained high level of play in 2010 averaging 2 TDs and 250 YRDs per game. He looks like a late bloomer who's got 8 games left to prove himself a star QB or a forever journeyman. Where they're similar is that like here at TSW, there were probably a bunch of uninformed Saints fans who would hang the blame of the losses on Manning. -
Looking at the youtube clips, Kyle Williams does not have the agility and athleticism that Fairley possesses. He looks more like a Bruce Smith, Reggie White clone at DE or a Warren Sapp clone at DT. He's got the longer legs to rip it up at DE in the NFL.

Schopp sticks his foot in his mouth yet again
1billsfan replied to The_Philster's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know who this Schopp guy is, but he sounds like a big douche. Nothing like ripping on the one Bills player who's playing at a pro bowl level. -
Take a few minutes, go on youtube, and compare Robert Quinn with Nick Fairley DE Auburn. Nick Fairley is a monster much the way that Bruce Smith was once upon a time. He may look like a DT, but he plays like a DE. Mark it down, this kid is going to be the first defensive player off the board. You can have Luck, give me... ...Nick Fairley ...the "head case" LT from miami who will fall into the 2nd ...a solid inside linebacker in the 3rd ...hopefully Merriman is good and the Bills can strike a deal with him Bills would have a good team that's playoff ready, baby.

Can Fitzpatrick Overcome His Choking?
1billsfan replied to NaPolian8693's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess the Fitzpatrick to Stevie Johnson TD pass to tie the score capping a 15 play, 7:18 TOP drive with 2:18 left on the clock was a mirage. -
Okay, what are we going to do with Brian Brohm?
1billsfan replied to The Wang From Sang's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills haven't seen this level of QB play since Bledsoe's 2002 year, and someone actually requests wanting to see what Brian Brohm can do. I can't even come up with a term that would do justice to this level of stupidity. -
what's the deal with fan favorite Freddie Jackson?
1billsfan replied to bills44's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What, you didn't leave enough posts in the 100s of Fitzpatrick threads that you needed to rag yet again in the one and only Fred Jackson thread? You guys are pathetic. -
what's the deal with fan favorite Freddie Jackson?
1billsfan replied to bills44's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd be hard pressed to find a worse starting back in the league than Fred Jackson. He just doesn't have the skill level to be a starter. The Bills need to start their first round draft pick CJ Spillar and find out what they have in him and if they need to draft yet another one in next years draft (obviously not the first or second round pick). -
...than the Bills do as a team. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/stats/leaders/NFL/INT/2010/regular http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/stats/teamsort/NFL/DEF-PASSING/2010/regular?&_1:col_1=10 But the unintelligent Bills fans seem to think that Ryan Fitzpatrick is reason we're losing these games. Hey Einsteins, he's the only reason they're close enough to win them in the first place.
-
The people who are blaming Ryan Fitzpatrick as the reason why we're losing these games need to seriously give up watching football and replace it with Dancing with the Stars. What's the real reason we aren't winning games? Our defense has 1 interception in 8 games. There are only two QBs in this league that could be as perfect as the fans here are asking Fitzpatrick to be. We all know who they are and those two are first ballot Hall of Famers. Right now, what we have is a 2011 top ten QB who's still getting better. Unfortunately the baby-like fans can't help throwing their tantrums after close losses. Try throwing the tantrum at the the real culprit which is an anemic defense and a putrid running game.

Fitz and his accuracy (or lack of)
1billsfan replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"The Defense played well enough to win but Fitz just missed to many times and it cost us." Bills defense = 1 interception this season Bears defense = 11 interceptions this season Fitzpatrick accounts for what should have been 21 points (touchdown, 2 passing plays bringing them inside the 10). 31 completions for 299 yards. Is Fitzpatrick supposed to play DB to get himself a freaking interception and a shortened field just once? -
Is today the beginning of a new Buffalo Bills era?
1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You do realize that Fitzpatrick was the entire Bills offense today, and that while those two interceptions were killer, he and an ok defense were the only rerasons the Bills had a shot in the fourth. I thought the Bills played pretty good today expect for Fred Jackson. Jackson sucks and he should be benched. Plus, would it kill the Bills' defense to get an interception once this season? -
Well, when you have teams like the Ravens who had no chance of Merriman having falling to them on waivers telling reporters that they were very much interested in him, how would do you expect Merriman to be? The NFL should treat players on waivers just like they treat players on NFL teams, they should be off limits for any team to comment on! It's subversive for the Ravens to do what they did and the NFL should stop allowing it,

Is today the day they stop the decade long descent to the very bottom and begin a steady rise back to the top? I see the Bills somewhat dominating the Bears today. I think this team wins at least four of their remaining games including the Patriots. Yes, I said Patriots. I see Ryan Fitzpatrick proving over these remaining games that he's the Bills' franchise QB we've all been waiting for. I also see this defense coming together and becoming halfway decent. I think we actually have a pretty good team that's hungry and ready to deliver a beat down today.

Sounds like MSNBC is going through some major behind the scenes drama. Bill Kristol says "Keep Keith!"... http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/lachlan-markay/2010/11/05/msnbc-suspends-keith-olbermann-indefinitely-secret-democrat-donation

Except for the fact that the Carolina Panthers will have the first pick in the draft. Did you look at their schedule? Count on it.

As much as I can't stand the guy, I don't see why he should be suspended. It's not like he's an objective news reporter. Sean Hannity freely admits that he makes contributions to conservative candidates and the reason it's not a problem is because he's a conservative commentator. I wonder if MSNBC is just looking for any reason to dump him.

The one game I watched of Auburn a couple of weeks ago (against LSU?), Nick Fairley was a one man wrecking crew. His play was flat out sick and he looked like a bigger and faster version of Warren Sapp.

Thanks. What was completely lost here to the "you're a bigot" police" is the point about Yusef Islam being paraded in front of 100,000 young Americans as an example of a moderate muslim. Those comments, while granted made a long time ago, were radical islamic statements and America is currently at war with radical islam. Jon Stewart has some explaining to do.
