Good post but to be fair, I far less problem with what SM did than Rex. Rex destroyed a great unit. That group SM inherited wasn’t that great.

Good post. Buffalo people and Bills fans are very sensitive. Who gives a crap if someone doesn’t like your city? One of my favorite things about Buffalo is it has a lot of things big cities have without the big city problems. But yes, the weather sucks for like half of the year and there aren’t a ton of jobs. But every single city has their own issues (LA - cost of living, traffic, super fake NYC - living like a college student etc). But as you said, because Buffalo was at rock bottom, it had no where to go but up. I’m very proud of my city for the progress it’s making. I love telling people I’m from Buffalo. I think Buffalo has more college student per captia than any other city in the country. Bang for buck, in terms of quality education, you are hard press to beat UB. Very good, affordable school.

Good post overall. The reason it’s even a debate is because Sammy can’t stay healthy. You could have Sammy and Foster. Now, we are going to overpay for FA who isn’t close to the talent level of a (healthy) Sammy.

I lost my starting job in training camp (playing S and getting beat by TEs over the top on play action) and I sulked like a baby and hoped my replacement would screw up. I feel like a Richard but I also wanted to play. And he did and I practiced hard and got my job back the next week. i think this Foles-Wentz thing has already split their terrible fans. And it’s hard to win if you’re Wentz going against BD Nick. Wentz is probably hoping The Saints destroy them. ?

Yeah, my point was the 2014 9-7 was a much better 9-7 2017 team. They would have killed the team that made the playoffs. We deserved the drought to be over. But that wasn’t a good team and this year we went 6-10. They have another year but Whaley gets dumped on here way too much. This regime has a lot to prove, starting with Allen. If he is truth, we are in great shape. If not, McBeane will be our. Yup. Bitter Bils fans >>>> McVay and Reid! OMG!!! Yeah, he adds nothing of substance. Yeah, I won’t want him as a head coach either. I think he is closer to McDermott than most Bills fans will ever admit though. Mans I hope SM becomes a legend here. But if he does get fired, I have no doubts he will get another DC job too.

You might want to review the team rankings under Whaley vs the current team. That 2014 team would have curb stomped the 2017 team.

I agree with majority of your post. I think on a good offense, Foster is a 3 or 4. Still don’t fully trust him. But point taken. I still think Sammy has number 1 potential if his body could hold up.

I don’t get this. Which is it: Andy Reid, one of the greatest offensive of his generation, traded up when he had a playoff team to select a QB who won’t play for a year because he recognized the special talent of Mahomes. Does that speak to how special of a guy PM is? or shoudl we feel better about the Bills picking Allen when they clearly had no plan in place? And Barkley/ Anderson both averaged more passing yards than Allen. I don’t think it’s crazy to think Rodgers or Brees would have improved our team.

Foot injuries have destroyed a lot of great athletes careers.

EJ had a better qb rating as rookie than Allen. Just sayin’ ?? Or Mahomes made all those things better because he is a generational talent. He is the second player in nfl history to ever do this. In his second year!

Because Sammy got $16 million/ year and Robert Woods is making half of that. Then they immediately traded a 1st for Cooks and paid him. Sammy can’t stay healthy and it killed his career (along with bad qbs here). But if you don’t understand why a healthy Sammy gets more money from good teams than Woods (and it’s no knock as Woods), you must be evaluating wrs for the Bills the last 2 years. You need to stretch the field with multiple options. It’s helps all facets of your offense. again, you can’t bet on Sammy’s health. But man if I could, I’d rather pay him $16 million than $12 to Tyrell Williams. A healthy Sammy could have been awesome with Allen. I think he’s still only 25. Yeah, he hated the offense here and wanted to go home. And I love Woods but he isn’t a game changer. He’s a good number 2.

Woods won’t have been Woods here. He isn’t a number 1 and does his best when gets the 2nd or 3rd corner. Woods would have been Josh Reed here this year. That’s why the Rams traded for Sammy and Cooks.

I think you’re going a little board with the Hurts slander. I’m pretty sure he’s not a NFL Qb but he was one of the top recruits in the country, started for Bama as a true freshman, and won SEC player of the year . That’s far from he stinks. I hope you’re right. I just feel like we’re going to be next year wondering why our offense wasn’t good enough again when there was plenty of proof it won’t be. That said, it would be a great story if he was successful even though he went to stupid Frannies.

I’m not sure about the Foster but I agree with the rest. Trading up for any non qb is dumb (see Jones, Zay) but Sammy was one of the greatest college receivers I have ever seen. The fact that Sean McVay and Andy Reid paid big resources to get him speaks volumes. but sadly, he will never live up to his draft status because of the injuries. And I don’t why so many Bills have animosity towards the guy. I met him a few times and he genuinely liked being on the Bills. I wish him well.
