I’m sure Zay Jones will put up 100+ in a championship and get $16 million/ year. Put it this way: you should never trade up a non qb. But I’d rather trade up for Sammy than Zay Jones. And there is no comparison between the receiving core that Whaley built compared to this current one.

Who were they prevented from signing? And why did that make they draft poorly at the wr position or make bad receiver trades? its ok to say they were just flat out bad at evaluating the position and hope they get better.

And coaching isn’t going to help that. Coaching is awful for your physical and mental health.

With all due respect, you’re reaching on the Whaley point. Money had nothing to do with the receiver situation. They were trying to sign John Brown this offseason and Maclin last offseason. And Benjamin showed up looking like a o linemen while McBeane were in Carolina!!! There were plenty of signs of him being terrible. In terms of the receiver position, they get a F the last 2 years. It’s a good wr draft so hopefully, they can figure it out. But it’s been really bad.

Ah, preseason threads!!!! Dude was a legend in training camp. I do know people who played basketball with him and apparently he is great athlete for his size. but props to him. Very impressive to get a head coaching at a college at his age. Best of luck to him.

Coaching for a former player probably sucks. You work insane hours and take a pay cut.

And don’t pay them big money. I might be alone but I do think the Giants made the right choice with Barkley because I think he has HOF talent. If they can get a good qb prospect this year, they will be loaded on offense.

Whaley??? ? the guy who put together a receiving core of Watkins, Woods, Hogan (all 3 who just played in championship games), and Goodwin. Come on, that’s crazy. its totally on McBeane. They saw Benjamin’s work up close in Carolina and decided to package picks for him. They hired Zay Jones’ college coach and traded up for him instead of just staying put and taking JuJu or Kupp. They took Austin Prohel because SM was friends with his dad. They took the second best slot receiver on Clemson. they have done a great job on the defensive side of the ball. But they have been dreadful on offensive and that’s to be expected when you have a defensive coach running your franchise. The need is very clear so this is a monster offensive draft for them.

Huh? They are both rookie qbs who need to get better. I do think the Cards took a major step in helping Rosen improve by their coaching change. It would be great if they both turn out to be good. Good QBs is great for the NFL.

Huh? Trust me, I used to be a huge homer. It was great. But how is citing 2 guys, who weren’t in the nfl at the beginning of the season, having better passer stats than Allen not valid? I feel like there there is some cult here that just ignores all evidence. Allen has never been an accurate passer. He is very fast, works hard, and has a cannon. But the lack of accuracy made him a polarizing prospect. again, if he was on the Jets, we would laugh at him. I hope he becomes a 60% passer who limits his turnovers because he could be special. But he is a lot risky than other top qb prospects. Silly to argue that.

All of his JUCO wrs were terrible and it was a very tough conference.

Clay is probably done but he’s had a far superior career. It’s not even close.

You can do this for every qb in the nfl. And it’s not like he was a 65% passer in the Mountain West and had a tough year as a rookie on a bad offense. Two journeymen qbs signed off the street (Anderson and Barkley) completed 60% of their passes at a higher ypa than Allen. They must have just gotten better receivers who won’t drop the ball. he is a rookie so he won’t be written off. But a top 10 pick qb should elevate the talent around him. 52% is terrible in today’s nfl and I’m sure if you asked Allen, he needs to improve instead of just blaming his receivers. And there is no downside to him working out with Palmer. I have zero questions about Allen’s work ethic. But why do people treat him like a qb guru? Who else has he ever worked with?

They should have traded him when he had value. Now, he will be cut and we will get nothing. Always sell high on a RB.

Then, we are run by stupid people and given their offensive moves, it’s hard not to argue that. They badly need an offensive consultant. Mahomes & JuJu + keep all your picks or Allen + Zay + plus 2 trade ups ????

Jim Kelly would complete 65% of his passes in this area. It’s a complete invalid comparison from today’s nfl to Jim Kelly’s. Its also makes what Dan Marino did so special as a passer. Now, Matt Stafford can pass for 5,000 yards. Its not normal to have a 52% passer in a league where the average starter is probsbly at around 63%. He’s a rookie but these excuses are mind numbing. He needs to become a better passer.
