Love the wild assumptions after two games of a 21 year old playing the hardest job in sports for one of the worst franchises for a qb. I think he’s going to be a star and even though it wasn’t great in Houston, he hung in there against a brutal pass rush from a really good defense. It’s a fair point. But I think teams think it’s harder to find an elite Wr than a OT. Also, a great wr can help with pass blocking because teams aren’t as quick to blitz or send as many pass rushers. Plus, the chemistry Chase and Burrow had.

EJ probably was never going to be good enough. But Marrone gave him Nate Hackett in his first nfl job, both the OV and QB coach. EJ never had a chance. I was a Jaurin apologist but if you look at his rosters, him getting 7 wins out of Edwards, Losman, Anthony Thomas, Kelsay was an amazing coaching job. along with Allen being patient in the 2 high S look, I do wonder if we ever have the speed to attack vertically anyways. The deep ball really has not been a part of offense.

They blew like games like that last year too. I think they had 4th quarter leads in 3 of their 4 losses last year. Kinda weird a team like that can’t hold the lead. they have lost some pieces and I still don’t think their WRs are good enough (I would see if I could trade one of their TEs for a starting caliber wr). There are a million guys you could plug in SF. put it this way, I think a lot of people would think Bryce Young would be a better qb in SF than purdy would be in Carolina.

They were arguably the best regular season team last year (according to DVOA, they were one of the best in recent years). I get the benefit of the doubt. We do very good against Lamar but big physical backs have given our defense a lot of trouble in the past. If they make the playoffs, Henry could cause some problems.

All these stats are so unfair to the previous generation. hearing about Marino throwing for 5,000 yards in an era where 3,000 was considered great is wild. Jim Kelly never threw for 4,000 yards. Andy Dalton has done it twice! that said, Allen is the best qb in Bills history and on a fast track to the HOF. Can’t believe hes as good as he is.
