Jetnation sure does not lack any confidence
C.Biscuit97 replied to saundena's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We were scoreless before he went out and didn’t score until 3 minutes were left in the 3rd. He also had a pick 6. He was the best player on the field before he left. It was an enormous loss. It would be like losing Tre in the Steelers game. -
So you get why the white cornerback stuff is silly right? With all due respect, you physically couldn’t play the position at the nfl. A little different than Jackson winning a Heisman and old, cranky Polian saying he should switch positions, correct? and I totally get your thinking and rationale. I do think most coaches believe that. But if you are building a team And decided that scrubs like Barkley, Henne, and Gabbert are better options than a healthy Newton, you are cheating your fans. I get the Bills’ reasoning but god forbid Barkley has to play this season. a one year deal for Newton would make so much sense.
-
He’s a fat lazy idiot who takes no accountability for his own dumb decisions. He tries to blame Whaley, who gave him an opportunity after a bunch of dumb stuff at FSU, as the reason he fails. The only I feel bad for his kids. If only Fat Karlos had a brain.

I get what you’re saying but the potential of him is so high over the known commodity of the crappiness of the rest of the list. Maybe not 7 but I’d put him top 10. Plus as others pointed out, he would be jumping into a really good situation if he has to play this year.

Great point. College coaches don’t care about their long term future. They just want to win. Some of these rbs are broken before they can get drafted. I also think corners could make it at a younger age. but it comes to a larger point. Why can every other college student pursue their careers whenever they want? Why can other sports, except football and basketball? Do I think most freshmen could survive in the nfl? Hell no, but they should be allowed to have the chance if they want.

Let’s Get it Buffalo by Diggs Himself

Great, he’s going to get the Rona from not SoCial distancing proper. ? -
Good post except for the white cornerback part. It’s always the go to counter to why black qbs aren’t being discriminated against. How know you’re a smart football guy. You don’t see why that point is stupid? and you’re thinking is probably like nfl coaches which blows my mind. They would rather have a scrub like Gabbert as a backup then Newton. That’s problematic thinking. And it cheats your fanbase. If the Bills are trying to build a SB contender, Newton should be on their roster. I understand the reasons (injury, too good to be a backup to Allen) but don’t give me crap about Barkley being a better fit. And I hope you know I’m just disputing your point, it’s nothing personal. but the nfl is so outdated in their thinking. You are making very valid points but guys like Henne and Gabbert sucked from the jump. They just are crappy qbs.

Hoyer is better than the scrubs the Jets had. I think they were down to their 3rd stringer. But no I don’t think the Jets would have made the playoffs. But Darnold definitely played better down the stretch and so did that team. and the Bills game completely flipped when Mosley went out. -
It was tongue in cheek but I do think there is truth in it. How many black backups qbs are there? Why did Trubisky go ahead of Watson and Mahomes? I think EJ was really good case for this. Look at his numbers. Had over 100 QB rating the preseason he got cut and no one signed him. He is superior to a lot of backup QBs (dominates Barkley, better numbers than Gabbert and Henne). Why do those guys get the jobs with worse production in a meritocracy business? Jameis Winston signed for a $1 million. Newton is unsigned (though I understand that more). Even after his MVP season, people still question Jackson long term as a qb. I truly believe if Allen has that season, there would zero of those posts. do I think the nfl is racist? No but I do think there are subconscious attitudes towards some things. Especially qb. And save the nfl coaching fraternity thing. It’s one of the biggest joke organizations in all of sports. Terrible coaches get recycled while young guys struggle to get their break. The NFL coaching fraternity is a joke. Andy Reid’s Ed crack head son is now a nfl coach. I’m sure he really paid his dues. and of course Love can be a bust. He’d still be better than Barkley, who is a nice guy but terrible.

A fanbase confident before the season? Shocking!!! On paper, we have the most talented team in the division. But it is crazy how some of you are discounting the other teams. Would we have made the playoffs if Allen got mono and missed 3 games and Edmunds missed 14??? i do think the Jets did a poor job building around Darnold though. If he had our receiving core, they would be really skill. I think those games are going to really tough but it is better to play them early. -
Nashville game October 11 on sale now
C.Biscuit97 replied to djp14150's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Man, My first time in Nashville, I was sad because I was there with my girlfriend and there were so many women around. ? slightly different experience. and my Uber driver there said the wildest weekend he ever had there was when the Bills played the titans. -
Yeah, it means you’re white, non threatening to the starting qb, and is friends with coaches. and I’m kinda tongue in cheek about the white comment but it does seem like terrible white qbs last a long time as backups than other races don’t. Yeah, I always preface my Barkley sucks comments with he’s a really nice guy. If you have played in 10+games and Have a 65 QBs rating, you’re awful. Your argument is that you would rather have the terrible veteran qb over the young guy with a lot of upside who just hasn’t played? I would take the chance than Love will end up with better than a 65 qb rating. I would bet everything on that.

Blindly comparing schools is pretty dumb. Trump went to Wharton, which his father got him into. Thurgood Marshall went to the 148 best school in the country. Ryan Fitzpatrick went to Harvard (breaking news!) and has a career better than 90 % of qbs who went to power 5 schools. I would bet the school I went to is better than 95% of the posters on this board, but that doesn’t mean my opinion is better, right (I mean it’s better for a number of other reasons but not because of the school I went to ?)? a lawyer’s job is to do whatever their client wants them to do. I agree it was a dumb statement, but it’s silly to make that a reflection of whole university. -
You’re the soccer mom crusader who is crying and side tracking a thread about completely made up game. I made a valid point about how much harder it was to score and complete passes in 99 than it is today. If This “game “ was played by 99 rules, Allen would have worse numbers. If it was played by today’s rules, Flutie would have better numbers. Stop being emotional.

“Let he hasn’t who hasn’t been caught by their girl having an ***** with their brother in a quarantine cast the first stone.” Romans 3:42 Some men are as are as faithful as their options. -
Just say You say woke up sensitive and Tried to make a valid point personal instead of dispute the actual point.
-
Oh please soccer mom. It literally is a post about which team was better. Taking off your sensitive glasses, here’s why it matters. There were different rules in different eras. In ‘99, the Bills completed 56.5% of their passes that ranked 21. In that year, there were 2 teams that finished under 50% passing. 2 teams! This year, the Bills completed 58.3% of their passes which was 31 out of 32 teams. That would have ranked 12th in the NFLin ‘99. so if you turn off your sensitive brain, here’s why it’s important. If you put Allen back in 1999, he is going to complete passes at a worse %. If you use 2020 rules, Flutie would be over a 60% passer. That’s why it’s important to point out. It’s also why Kurt Warned had one of the best qb season in history because he was so far more dominant than the rest of the league. also if IRC, there was talk that The offense held that 99 team back. While in a league where it was much harder to score (4 teams scored over 400 points in 99 and 12 scored under 300 compared to 10 over 400 and only 6 under 300 in 19, 4 of which we played) the ‘99 Bills scored 320 points while the ‘19 Bills scored 314 points.
-
I get your point but have you heard how desperate people are for sports? Athletes will always be in demand. They are talking about making a bubble for them to play in. but I believe this was part of the reason the players accepted the new contract even though a lot were against it. The owners would have total power right now if they didn’t.
-
But to summarize, we should be the favorites on paper. But if you’re a non-Bills fan, it probably hard to believe that (though so many people hate the Pats). I do think watching the Jordan documentary is interesting because the year after he retired, and everyone thought they were going to be trash, they went 55-27.

Final result of the Marcel Dareus trade for Buffalo:

Now we have 2 sub 60% passers and one with a 10-21 td to int ratio! EJ was probably not going to be the guy but what Marrone did with him was criminal. Their development of him was an absolute joke. -
Convince me that the 2020 Pats are good...
C.Biscuit97 replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope you win a lot of money but I would hate the idea of betting against the pats. But it would be such a great bet to win. Side note, because of this year in the nba, I absolutely hate o/u season bets. The payoff is so long! I might not know about my nba bets until august. -
I was young but I remember the Washington R words were a much superior team and so was the first Cowboys. The only one that was for sure were the Giants. I think by point spread, it’s one of the biggest upsets in SB history.

C.Biscuit97 replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Such a good point. I wish Bills fans were setting the Pats wins over/ under instead of Vegas because I would hammer it. The Fins got rid of all their good players, had one of the least talented rosters to ever begin a season, started Fitz, who a lot of people laughed at, and won 5 games. Is the Pats roster worse than that? Come on. I think their absolute basement is 6 and I would not be shocked if they won 10. -
I think the easiest way to do it compared to their peers at the time. That 99 team was a play away from beating a team that was a play away from winning the SB. The 19 team won 10 games but wasn’t exactly a juggernaut against one of the easiest schedules in franchise history. It would be a low scoring game but I give the 99 team the edge 10-6!
