Glazer reporting entire staff dismissed
JimBob2232 replied to ILoveBFLO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I dont want to see April go either...but realistically the guy has been passed over for a Coordinator/Head Coach job so many times in this organization he must be wanting to move on. Also, remember Thurman Thomas twitter "They are going to clean out the whole house..." (paraphrasing). Maybe Thurman also knows more than we give him credit for. I'd like to see Guy/Modrak/Brandon go as well...but it looks like at least Brandon is staying. -
Haha...RIIIIIIGHT....Who would want this job? they had to hire Art Shell (the 2nd time), Lane Kiffin and Tom Cable because NOBODY ELSE wanted it. Good luck finding a head coach. Maybe they can get Mike Leach or someone looking for a first time gig who will think they can put up with Al Davis..but it wont be a Cowher/Shanahan/Billick/M.Schottenheimer type guy

Hillarious. I was going to post the same thing! Also, "primitive cultures in 1922". I have a hard time believing Teddy Roosevelt lived in a Primitive Culture...and he was a good 20 years before 1922! But I have to love your tenacity Crayons! You really have a talent..I just hope you dont waste it all on bills message boards!

Bills compiling new list of coaching candidates
JimBob2232 replied to Tortured Soul's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only news in this article (if we believe it to be a good report) is that Cowher said No. I have not seen this reported anywhere else. -
Interesting question...I am assuming the rooney rule applies to interviewing a MINORITY candidate, not necessarily an African-American candidate...does anyone know for sure? If so, I wonder if Charlie Weis will count. Last I checked, Ogres were a minority. I also wonder if, say Dennis Green was THE candidate a team was looking at, would they need to interview a white candidate to meet the rooney rule?

When will the Brohm sucks threads start?
JimBob2232 replied to bills_red's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, this is ridiculous. This is one of the major reasons we just cant get a QB to succeed here. You have to give him time. RJ did not get a fair shake here, neither did JP or Trent Edwards. Its unfortunate. Pick your QB and stick with him for a couple seasons. This jumping back and forth between QBs every week is crazy. Not saying any of these guys were going to turn out great, but when you jump back and forth each week, and they are playing for their job every week, they cant establish themselves as a team leader. Pick a guy (ANY GUY) and stick with him for the season. That said, im going to go back on myself now, but play Brohm this week AND next week. See what he has. Let him compete for the job next year, and whoever wins...PLAY THEM ALL SEASON. -
I think John Fox will be our new head coach. If I had to guess on the coaching carousel this is my guess: Carolina: Bill Cowher (although, I wouldnt be suprised to see him decline and wait for the Penn State Opening) Tampa: Leslie Frazier Buffalo: John Fox Washington: Shanahan Cleveland: Mangini (yes, for another year) Chicago: Lovie Smith returns Oakland: Cable returns Dallas: Mike Zimmer

Some other possibilities: David Garrard Kerry Collins Jason Cambell (i vote NO) Rex Grossman
-
hmm...according to billsdaily.com we signed him! Wow. Nice pickup.

Few teams have found a great QB to follow a legend. we havent found someone since Kelly. Miami has been dormant since Marino. How many years did it take Cincinatti to find a replacement for Esiason? Dallas hasnt found someone since Aikman. San Fran hasnt since Young. Denver hasnt since Elway. Its truly amazing. The only legends following legends i can think of in recent history is Montana/Young and MAYBE Bledsoe/Brady (but I discard because Bledsoe was in the prime of his career when replaced). But most teams who lose a legendary QB take YEARS (if not a decade plus) to find a legitimate QB.

Trent Edwards should be starting
JimBob2232 replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not saying he is brees..but for the record, Brees stats: (G, Comp%, Rating, TD-Int) 2001 1, 55.6% 94.8% 1-0 2002 15, 60.8% 76.9% 17-16 2003 11, 57.6% 67.5%, 11-15 Trent Edwards 2007, 10, 56.1%, 70.4%, 7-8 2008, 14, 65.5%, 85.4%, 11-10 2009, 7, 60.2%, 74.1%, 6-7 I am sure you could find 100 other QBs with a similar comparison who never panned out...but my point is, you have to allow him one more change to prove himself. Go ahead draft a 2-3 round QB and make it an open competition....see what happens...its too early to write him off. -
Trent Edwards should be starting
JimBob2232 replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree. Brees took years to come into it. Last year after we started 4-0 there was some in the National media questioning whether Edwards could be MVP potential...then he got the concussion and has not been the same. Before we close yet another chapter...lets at least give him the last 4 games. We can all agree Fitz is not the long term solution. There are still questions out there on Edwards. -
Sunday Ticket is in the consumer's best interest
JimBob2232 replied to Fezmid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sunday Ticket...not NFLN there Stucky -
You gotta stick with trent one more year i think. Lets sure up the O-Line, change out the offensive coordinator, re-group our WR core, and lets try again with Trent before dumping him... Also, we need to sure up the defense a bit. Especially the run game. Need to sign or draft a big DT, and figure out a way to get Maybin to rush the passer. Then Draft a CB in the first round, that should help us out alot in the passing game. Fixing the defense will go along way towards helping the offense in my opinion. Trent needs one more year before I'll give up on him. (By the way....before you flame away...one of the items above was a joke...)

If the Internet disappeared tomorrow

...I'd instantly have an extra 10 hours in my day... -
We are struggling with stuffing the run, and I saw this guy play yesterday vs. Tennessee, and WOW was he a beast. Now, admittedly I dont know much about him, but I couldnt help but think this is EXACTLY the type of guy we need next to Stroud. He looks like a 1/2 round selection based on projections I have seen at this point... Thoughts?

Robert Royal leads league in drops

And when he does catch it, he cant keep both feet in the endzone. Yup. Still Angry. -
The Bills won, but that was a bad reversal on Evans
JimBob2232 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was a tough call. Could have gone either way. I dont think there was enough to overturn it. Likewise, if it was called incomplete, i dont think there was enough there either. -
turn pro ?...or stay in school ?

CALLING IT NOW: ANOTHER AVERAGE BILLS SEASON (EVER, WOW)
JimBob2232 replied to murra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont know...this IS the bills we are talking about here. Winning the next 6 to give us hope, then losing the last 5 seems like it might be just what the doctor ordered (or what sends me to the doctor) And if we are lucky...maybe we can lose to the colts 2nd string. Bonus points if that loss is the one that causes us to miss the playoffs! -
Yeah, it sounds crazy. I dont know that the parallel holds true with those other QBs, but it is interesting that guys like Drew Brees looked GOD AWFUL for several years before it all clicked. Not sure how you can predict that, but it does happen.

Beat JETS, 2-4, back in the race
JimBob2232 replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont disagree with you that its over. It sure feels like its over. This team is playing with no emotion and is showing almost no hope for this season to be salvagable. However, this is the NFL. I remind you that last season at this point we were 4-1 and *DESTINED* for the playoffs. We then went and beat San Diego and were 5-1. Most of us thought that playoffs were a certainty....Then we go 2-8 and finish at 7-9. Point is, its a LONG LONG season. And scrape a win this weekend against the Jets, go and beat Carolina in thier house, and we're sitting at 3-4 and alot of people will be changing their tune, ESPECIALLY if nobody is running away with the division. Is it likely we can turn this around? Probably not. I just dont see the passion in this team. But put a couple wins together, and I anything is possible in this LONG GRUELING NFL season.
