Sad story. Think the kid got ruined when Bill O'Brien left Penn State. He had it all. Good O-Line, Good WRs, Good Coach. Then in 2013 O'Brien left and his WRs (Allen Robinson) and several OL went to the NFL. Sanctions decimated them at OL. Kid got crushed. In 2013 and 2014 he had as many sacks per game as Drew Bledsoe did in 2005 (3.4/game). He physically seemed to be able to take the abuse, but it was clear he was thrown off his game. It threw him off and he never recovered. He is one of the main guys who kept penn state together through the sanctions, and i will never forget him for that...but sadly, i think he is done here. Hope to see him get another chance, but i think time has run out.

Yep. Hopefully he is our Carson Wentz. Although that would mean he looks AWESOME, gets hurt and McCarron/Peterman wins the superbowl. How awsome would that be? (oh, and then how not awesome would the ensuing QB debate be...)

Less of a function of chan, and more a function of the others on this list... if McDermott goes 0-16 the next 3 seasons he still comes out #1 on this list.

I think if we see the OL and WRs playing well (unlikely), but AJ is stinking up the joint, put him in. But otherwise, wait until next year, get a top WR and a couple OL in the draft/FA. Give the kid a fighting chance at succeeding. This year is a building year IMO. Don’t want him to lose confidence.

I love Barkley, and i think he is one of the best (if not the best) back to come out of college in the last 10 years. But we just cant do that. It would be suicide. A RB does not make a team, no matter how good. That said...i'd probably be estatic if they did this because i love him....but deep down i know its the wrong move.

I suppose you think taking Jamarcus russel over Adrian Peterson made sense too? Barkley is the best back to come out since Peterson. I get what you are saying. I’m against drafting RBs early in general. But when you get a special prospect (which Barkley and AP are/were) it’s a different story.

Barkley is a perfect fit in NY...I'd honestly be surpised if the Giants trade that pick.

There is no way you can let him off the hook here. I'm fine with releasing him and sending him on his way, but he CANNOT keep the bonus we paid him. Its one or the other.

Honestly...hard to top the bengals game this year and the locker room celebration. I know it’s recent, but I think it will stand the test of time. Other than that....carpenter hitting himself in the face with his helmet is high on the list. Other favorites: - lawyer Milloy trade and the subsequnt New England blowout. - Kevin Everett walking onto the field - the “toy” thrown at Chris hogan - pegulas buying the bills and keeping them here.

I think a part of it is that the top picks no longer command massive salaries that burden an organization for years. They are still big, but they are manageable. You can afford the risk. A few years ago it was almost a curse to have a high pick. Before you got a Sam Bradford at 6years/78M with 50M guaranteed. Now you get a Mitchell Trubinsky at 4 years 29M with 19M guaranteed. Much more palatable if your highly touted QB looks like...well Mitchell Trubinsky.

He Couldn't even outright win the starting QB job at Michigan...Must be the next Brady.

I remember ESPN talking about him as a potential league MVP that year....then the concussion...then squat. Sad.

Eh. Pass. I cant remember being less thrilled with a QB prospect that everyone else thought pretty highly of. Well...I can...there is one other person that I felt that way about. JP Losman. I just dont like his cockyness and attitude.

If Beane made that trade, we would be crucifying him because the Jets could jump us. Relax.

Eh. I'm admittedly a penn state homer, but i just dont see it in this guy. Love him, but unless you can get him late or as an UDFA, i think i'd pass. My top 3 Penn Staters this year 1. Barkley (Duh) 2. Mike Gesicki ( 3. Marcus Allen De'Sean Hamilton (WR) is getting alot of press, but I'm not sold. Same with Apke. Christian Campbell is okay, but I dont see him lasting in the league either. Probably under-rated, but worth a flyer are LB Jason (Crazy Eyes) Cabinda, and Grant Haley (Dude was ALWAYS in on a big play. Hard to put a factor on that, but he can make a name for himself as a ST guy)

Gesicki is going to be a good one. I fear he goes to the Pats. He can be a gronk replacement. Sure, not the best blocker, but he has great hands, and is a real game-changer for a young qb.
