  1. His air yards per attempt #s which excludes YAC indicate otherwise.
  2. AFAIK Father Time has never faced a QB who has inexplicably achieved GOAT status as an exclusive dink&dunker. I fully expect him to play and be annoying until 42 or so.
  3. This is kinda what I think. Signing him only hurts us if it prevents signing others who would help us more. Here is the exclusive list of things that would help us more than a CB of his caliber: 1) Good QB 2) Starting caliber OLmen (probably two of them) #1 is a non-factor as good QBs aren't FAs, the opportunity cost is basically nil there. #2 is more debateable. There are I guess a handful at most of them available, though signing them is no sure thing. And does our FO even know what a solid OLman looks like though [cough Chris Williams]? It'd have to be a short-term deal 'cause he holds out every other year (it's just what he does) but yah, get er done.
  4. Unfortunately true. For this game in a vacuum anyway... I still find espn's/Collinsworth's "unlucky to not be 6-0" narrative maddening as they ignore the laundry list of breaks in '01, or the fortunate 2-2 mark vs Baltimore with a negative eight billion pt differential in 4 games. Puke.
  5. True that. Sad but true. He is the biggest tire fire of a PG I can remember.
  6. Schopp has made this point too. If the punishment is so weak that the team doesn't regret cheating, then the punishment is a joke. They should lose 1st and 2nd round picks for three years and suspend Brady's lying face for a year.
  7. Only if your definition of 'illogical' is "things/facts not talked about by espn blowhards".
  8. It wouldn't be fair to let GB know they need a TD and thus have 4 downs after Seattle scored a TD with 3 downs. It's not fair that holding & illegal contact are arbitrarily enforced. It's not fair that fumble recoveries are 100% random and yet don't always even out during a game/season. College is lame and manufactured. In keeping with the baseball analogy it's giving each team a baserunner to start the inning.
  9. http://grantland.com/the-triangle/afc-nfc-championship-patriots-colts-seahawks-packers/ Barnwell nails it as per usual. Putting everything on Bostic and/or Burnett is incredibly weak and McCarthy is a clown. It's always someone else's fault when you make the wrong/vaginal move with the 18yd FG. It's never anyone else's fault but yours when one of your players doesn't execute on 4th&1. Gutless coaching FTL.
  10. Teams that are good for a while are always hated. I can see how Carroll can be annoying, Baldwin crying about "no respect" was comical, and the media's fascination w/ Wilson is getting a bit absurd (did they mention once yesterday that he was playing badly?). In the grand scheme of things though these things aren't that big a deal to me. I'm looking forward to having a strong rooting interest for the first time in a while. It'd be great if NE dropped to 3-3 in the bowl.
  11. Incredibly this is not understood in 2015. I mean if you want to sort by "how good X looked last week" Indy should've won yesterday.
  12. Last couple years have been very different teams with the same record. Good defense last year with an OL that made ours look like the '93 Cowboys. This yr the OL was better but the D collapsed at the end. Not that I really disagree that he's average. Average QBs are underrated assets though (strictly defined as 16th or 17th best). We haven't had that in a very long time.
  13. Without anecdotal examples the Belicheat avatar would have 7,900 fewer posts. That's no fun. Good ? I'd say Tannehill is in the ballpark. But the defense would have to be pretty outstanding.
  14. Throwing big $ @RBs is stupid but now that we might not have to do that to keep him, bringing Spiller back makes a lot of sense.
  15. Yah the QB teams just get more cracks at it. I am pretty confident the Colts&Packers will have elite offenses in 2019. For best defenses in 2017, you might as well throw darts.
  16. Everything that went right with previous team is to his credit. Nothing that went wrong was his fault. Spoken like fans before they coach any games. I like Rex but this isn't the offensive guru I had in mind.
  17. Most of us seem to want the same things. Aggressive, innovative, forward thinking, offensive minded, preferably young.. Basically everything Russ Brandon said after they hired Marrone (stupid or liar?) I don't know if the pool we're interviewing are those things.. Auburn and A&M coach don't want to come here.. So what do we do? How about find someone who has overachieved w/ his talent; not just [insert good QB's] OC or Seattle's DC. http://www.buffalonews.com/columns/jerry-sullivan/mike-shanahan-would-be-ideal-for-the-bills-20150106 I am unconvinced by Sullivan's Pep Hamilton nomination. "Neutralizing the Bengals blitzes" - Cincy's pass-rush was non-existent all year and I'm sorry but Luck is just that good. Bill Lazor on the other hand has to be worth a look. He quotes Miami's offense as 14th (up from 27th) but Football Outsiders which is a better metric imo had them 7th. With a rebuilt OL, overpaid WRs, and Tannehill, who, does some things well but for some reason with his nice arm has brutal accuracy on downfield throws. The year before Foles played out of his mind. The bolded is a great point - if their defense didn't tank down the stretch he's getting interviews now. C'mon Bills, get ahead of the curve for once. We're talking to Greg Roman (among 13 others) whose offense sucked with our #1 WR as their 4th option instead?
  18. Reasonable enough take but people always complain about anonymous sources & this guy is sour grapes so who do you want quoted on record, Belichick? Not really a big deal on its own but just more smoke signaling fire.
  19. I'm with you on the Brandon & youth points. Seriously get Russ the f### away from these decisions. Although Shannahan to me is actually preferable to most of those guys.
  20. Dallas converted 4th downs on both 2nd half TD drives. Detroit punted like wimps every chance they got. Moving on.
