I thought the D played ok. Yes they were gashed here and there but it’s the NFL, every D will get gashed to some extent. They were aggressive and stout on many occasions. I’m glad McD is running it.

Probably the Lions. But not with their current QB, prob need an upgrade there

83 yard run. Sean McDermott made an interesting comment.

Don’t worry. Cook will break through an arm tackle this weekend to take one to the house 83 yards 😜 -
Do the Bills need a " Quarterback Whisperer?"

I knew it was getting bad when after unnecessary contact, McDermott pointed to his own head and shouted to Josh “use your head”! as in Be Smarter. I recall seeing McD do that last year as well. -
Rough season opening losses— are we snake bit?
zow2 replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not just opening season heartbreakers, how about games that are memorable for the entire country, and they always end in Buffalo losses?!? Just in the last couple years, everyone will remember the game when Aaron Rodgers with all the build up had a 4 play season. And we Lost! Last season the Minnesota game was voted the game of the year, so many chances to win and we Lost! The KC 13 second game was legendary, and we Lost! There are plenty more over the years. -
I don’t even need a stud RB. Gimme a little Harris or Murray. or even that dude in preseason that ran through about 8 Chicago Bears en route to the end zone. Cook has a spot, he’s just not the guy i want slamming it up the middle. The little passes out in space are ok.

A few topics/stats/info that have not been mentioned

To your point #4, I actually think the Bills would've sacked Rodgers 7-8 times in that game. He can't move and the plan wasn't to sit back and get nickel and dimed to death. Not sure if the outcome would have changed. NY likely would have had more passing yardage, but the sacks could've resulted in turnovers or more 3 and outs. -
Excuse: Josh Allen had an amazing record and statistical production in Prime Time games. He also had some great playoff games leading up to the Bengals loss. What we are seeing is simply a market correction. The law of averages comes into play for everything. The Bills are 0-5 in OT with Allen and maybe the next five they will be 5-0.

Nick Wright is a douche but his takes on Allen today are pretty funny,, Unfortunately being a Bills fan it hurts but he's not wrong.

2023 NFL Season - Week #1 - Bills at Jets - Post game game thread

Can we get a Raiders pregame thread already? I'm moving on quickly, burning the film. I want to talk Las Vegas. -
There's no chance they win the next 7 games. Zippy. I think it may even get worse before it gets better.

Josh Allen since the KC win last season….22 TD’s and 16 INT’s.
zow2 replied to Walking Tall's topic in The Stadium Wall
Teams figured him. Keep him in pocket with pressure up the middle as best you can. Keep a spy. He’s not that good of a pure pocket QB, i swear he doesn’t process as quickly as the great QBs. so much success is throwing on the move and running. -
It’s really really hard not to overreact today. Allen should win more games than he loses going forward. Let’s just hope it was a blip against a defense that pretty much owns him.

Loss of Edmunds is going to expose Hyde and poyer

It’s a little rough watching Poyer staring at the back of the ball carrier’s jersey as he’s chasing. It’s happening more and more with him. -
I agree but I've already ripped Josh's performance to pieces in other threads. This is about Dorsey and he needs to step up his game...coach and scheme 'em up, not just Josh but everyone on O.
-
Dorsey's whole plan is "hey Josh, throw a couple quick passes to Harty, Cook and Kincaid...then when things go sideways make chicken salad, 'er lemonade...or whatever that saying is, Okay Josh?" Dorsey stinks. I expect things to get better vs. anyone but the Jets, but the O needs to look ALOT better this week. Dorsey needs a bounce back game as much as Josh.
-
I don't even care anymore. Let Josh be Josh. Even when he tried to "limit his contact" last night...by his own plan...he absorbed many crunching blows. The man just needs to scramble around, play loose, throw on the run and do his thing. Guys will be open when he moves. Yes, he will risk injury, but that's the NFL. He should know what self-preservation needs to be done without being told. He sucks in the pocket and against pressure like the Jets bring. Just get the throwing deep into triple coverage out of his game.
-
I'm sure it's noticed in the RB film room... they will watch and the other RBs will think Jesus dude, an opponent fingernail scrapes across your leg and he goes down like a 12 year old.. Get tough James, you won't be able to avoid defenders on every carry.
-
Yep. Agree. There was one play can't remember if first or second half,,, he scrambled left and had all this open green field in front of him and the sidelines. It was one time he could've run for the first down and gotten out of bounds,... but he stopped and threw downfield incomplete. Punt. Just very bizarre decision making. He was really rattled last night and didn't follow the plan.

A few of us were discussing this last week. We all know the Bills have started out HOT the past few years and were the media darlings and Regular season champs. Well we know how they fizzled in the end. 2020 = 4-1 2021 = 4-1 2022 = 4-1 What if, this is the year they start out slow, struggle a bit to find their way... and then get hot and stay hot in November and on? Now they can't fall too far behind the AFC contenders but seeing as KC, Cinci, LAC already lost as well, they can right this ship. Gotta beat the Raiders at home though, and I do not think it will be easy by any means. I do believe it will be a close game that Buffalo will grind out. However, even if they beat LAV, I can see the Bills limping out to a disappointing 3-3. I do think they will get better as the year goes on.

Breece Hall with a still healing ACL who is on a pitch count is 50x better than James Cook.

2023 NFL Season - Week #1 - Bills at Jets - Post game game thread
zow2 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree. Said it in the moment, up 13-3 all the Bills had to do was ball security and take what the Jets gave them and it was likely a Win. The flinging the ball downfield twice into coverage was completely absurd. -

Did anyone else kinda' want to lose the OT coin toss and/or kick off? I just didn't think the Jets would drive the length for a game winning TD. Of course you knew it would be hard to drive the ball against NY.
