Dorsey's whole plan is "hey Josh, throw a couple quick passes to Harty, Cook and Kincaid...then when things go sideways make chicken salad, 'er lemonade...or whatever that saying is, Okay Josh?" Dorsey stinks. I expect things to get better vs. anyone but the Jets, but the O needs to look ALOT better this week. Dorsey needs a bounce back game as much as Josh.

I don't even care anymore. Let Josh be Josh. Even when he tried to "limit his contact" last night...by his own plan...he absorbed many crunching blows. The man just needs to scramble around, play loose, throw on the run and do his thing. Guys will be open when he moves. Yes, he will risk injury, but that's the NFL. He should know what self-preservation needs to be done without being told. He sucks in the pocket and against pressure like the Jets bring. Just get the throwing deep into triple coverage out of his game.

I'm sure it's noticed in the RB film room... they will watch and the other RBs will think Jesus dude, an opponent fingernail scrapes across your leg and he goes down like a 12 year old.. Get tough James, you won't be able to avoid defenders on every carry.
-
Yep. Agree. There was one play can't remember if first or second half,,, he scrambled left and had all this open green field in front of him and the sidelines. It was one time he could've run for the first down and gotten out of bounds,... but he stopped and threw downfield incomplete. Punt. Just very bizarre decision making. He was really rattled last night and didn't follow the plan.

A few of us were discussing this last week. We all know the Bills have started out HOT the past few years and were the media darlings and Regular season champs. Well we know how they fizzled in the end. 2020 = 4-1 2021 = 4-1 2022 = 4-1 What if, this is the year they start out slow, struggle a bit to find their way... and then get hot and stay hot in November and on? Now they can't fall too far behind the AFC contenders but seeing as KC, Cinci, LAC already lost as well, they can right this ship. Gotta beat the Raiders at home though, and I do not think it will be easy by any means. I do believe it will be a close game that Buffalo will grind out. However, even if they beat LAV, I can see the Bills limping out to a disappointing 3-3. I do think they will get better as the year goes on.

Breece Hall with a still healing ACL who is on a pitch count is 50x better than James Cook.

2023 NFL Season - Week #1 - Bills at Jets - Post game game thread

I agree. Said it in the moment, up 13-3 all the Bills had to do was ball security and take what the Jets gave them and it was likely a Win. The flinging the ball downfield twice into coverage was completely absurd. -

Did anyone else kinda' want to lose the OT coin toss and/or kick off? I just didn't think the Jets would drive the length for a game winning TD. Of course you knew it would be hard to drive the ball against NY. -
Franchise in trouble- Josh Allen has regressed
zow2 replied to RoscoeParrish's topic in The Stadium Wall
Even his scrambling was weird. For a guy that was going to limit his hits, he needlessly absorbed some crunching blows on plays he easily could've fallen down or run about of bounds. He played like it was a sandlot game. -
I prefaced the thread by saying I hope Cook proves me wrong... and he goes for 120 and 3 TDs vs Las Vegas. He was not the reason they lost last night. It's just frustrating even last season, to watch a DB or LB come down in the box, grasp with one arm at James Cook, and see him easily tackled as if he was my 84 year old father running. Singletary would never ever go down that easily and people killed him here. Cook should have his touches for sure, I'm just not clear what the best usage down/distance is best.

I definitely want to see more Damien Harris and Murray mixed in. They are professional RBs. Cook is a nice change of pace, he so slight though, goes down as soon as he’s touched by anyone, even a weak arm tackle. If he’s in open space and untouched then sure he’s a weapon.
-
I’ve said this since his very first carry.
-
So many people here love the guy. I just don’t see it as i’ve said since last season. As a RB you simply have to break some arm tackles. Watch Breece Hall for 2 carries and he’s everything Cook isn’t. Yes, when no one touches him, Cook is decent, but that’s the case with any RB. I need more Damien Harris or Murray. Cook seems like a nice change of pace, but not THE GUY to me. Hope im proven wrong

After this debacle i’m not convinced Bills or Jets will make the playoffs. that was an awful game. _and the Jets D is very very good, but Zach Wilson won’t be leading them to the promised land. And Bills look like they are ready to take a year off. Josh Allen is latest victim of the Madden curse. With a hard schedule, they could be on the outside looking in when it matters. -
We will never win anything with McD here

I was hoping for a “fire McDermott” after this debacle. I thought his D played Ok. but he’s responsible for the O too so i’m pissed -

Only the Bills would almost immediately waste a heroic Bass Doink and just fall apart in OT. Most teams would take the MO and win it -

Inexcusable loss. Just take what the Jets give you and play mistake free and it’s a win. The Bills had all those turnovers, won’t happen again. and gave up a punt return TD, won’t happen again. I figured we’d split with the Jets, that was just a painful way to do it. Bills, KC and Cinci all lost. Go figure. -

We lost to Zach Wilson last season which is bad enough since he was the joke of the league. and i feel the Jets have outplayed us in the 2nd half. it isn’t even fluky -

James Cook can ever break an arm tackle or any tackle and i’m already F-in sick of it.
