  1. Why do we call mellow music "Elevator music" yet I haven't heard music in an elevator in my life. Where does this saying come from?
  2. They are also adding the dreaded PSLs to the mix for season tickets. Now you have to pay a steep premium just for the right to own the damn seats. The seats will be owned by corporations and the regular guys won't have a chance to get seats.
  3. Umm, is it really possible to have a "Hall of Fame" for a message board? According to the dictionary: n : a building containing trophies honoring famous people [syn: Hall of Fame] Source: WordNet ® 2.0, © 2003 Princeton University Would the proper location or repository be the "Server" or "Disk" of Fame? SDS Mark IV #89 Rosen Lamb Lori JSP (if he isnt bitchy) AIO (always bitchy) LA and probably ten more I can't think of right now...
  4. Are the cows part of the alternative lifestyle thing?
  5. I would have to guess this is from AIO, but just a guess.
  6. What about Henry's Hamburgers, That place was my all time favorite, once McDonalds and Burger king set up shop theyy were history. I also used to work at Your Host, spent most of my money there too during the winter months after freezing to death in the cold, we'd go in and get a burger and hot chocolate, they are all gone now too.....
  7. We used to go to Kenmore day every year, they still sell the suckers (Halls) in and around the area. We still have a cottage up there near Crystal Beach (ours is in Ridgeway) but its a mile from the beach. There are plenty of rentals on the beach in Crystal beach, just hit some of the real estate websites for the area. most rentals are about 600-700 for a week on the beach, a little cheaper if you go off the beach. I'd offer ours, but the family takes turns and I have no idea what the availability is, plus my sisters will immediately say the week you wanted is the week they were thinking of going, happens to me all the time.
  8. Utah (Alta) was awesome, great snow great runs, We went last year and did Park City (great food, atmosphere), Deer Valley (Ok, but pricey), The Canyons (horrible trail layouts) Overall, I would take Alta if you are going to Utah. We went to Jackson Hole not too long ago (5 years) Massive mountain, good runs, nice area great cruisers and steeps, but for the 5 days we skiied, 3 of them went to Grand Targhee on the opposite side of the mountain from Jackson. We had to drive an hour through mountain roads to get there, but when we got back to the hotel at the end of the day and compared notes with those who skiied Jackson, we had 2 feet of fresh powder, they had slush and crud. Good luck wherever you end up!
  9. My wife bought me the Time-Life books when we got married, every other month a new one came in, they were a godsend. Helped me with a lot of simple and more complex issues. I gave my set away to a freind, but they could probably be found in a bookstore or ebay. Great series of books.
  10. We are now on our 3rd home in the area, and we always took the fixer upper. In the long run, you put it together the way you like it, not the way the previous owners did. We now live nearby (Wantagh), I know there is some values in the Seaford area if you take a look. Some are fixer uppers and others are new builds. I like the Hicksville area, but some of Levitown is nice too. Many/Most of the Levitown homes are built on slabs with hot water heat elements built into the concrete. Make sure your plumber/home inspector gets a good look at that part of the house. All of Long Island is booming right now, and spring is bringing out a lot of new homes to the market, keep your eyes open but be reasonable, some of the fixer uppers will go close to the asking price, since there are many young couples who are willing to put in the sweat equity.
  11. With Edge gone and Rudy Johnson signed, the only option they have is the draft or take a shot at a Zeroue kinda guy. Maybe draft day will bring the trade, also depends on Travis' demands for a new contract. I can see Travis staying put until camp and be traded to a team that is close, but loses a RB in training camp/pre-season. Patience......
  12. Since they are usually preceded by a high pitched girlish scream of "You spilled my latte into my fried Bologna" before you pansy slap the the guy. That gets old after a while. but it is amusing I suppose.
  13. Happy Birthday Steve, maybe for your Birthday the Bills will upgrade your seat to be next to someone more entertaining,
  14. I worked with a girl from Ireland, she said the way we celebrate is outrageous, She claimed it was pretty much a non-event at home, closer toa (but not quite) a religious observance. Gee I just can't wait to get on the train tommorow with all the drunks from the parade, acting as if they own the damn LIRR, they act as if projectile vomiting is a sport that shoud be added to the next olympics. Thank goodness it's only once a year!
  15. Could the maintanance be performed by a volunteer group of citizens instead of County workers? If a group of citizens hell-bent on saving the team were to perform the maintenance with supplies donated by local businesses, could the services be sufficient to fullfill the terms of the agreement. County / Union employees are expensive, what would happen if a volunteer force were created and allowed to do the general maintenance. Would that be sufficient to hold up the county's liability?
  16. You missed the Cablelady vs. R Rich smackdown..... She owns him
  17. Well, that could be Mulcaheys, although, nearby there is Guido Mulligans, Wantagh Inn and another Irish pub. When you plan it, let me know
  18. Where is she from, let me know when you come up this year, kill some brain cells
  19. Niagara University (Purple Eagles 2005 MAAC Champs)
