Not team by team but there's some interesting data here based on Pro Bowl/All-Pro talent v. draft position. For example,82% of the OL and 72% of the WR's were selected in the first 48 picks. I voted LB then OT, specifically RT. I would draft Dareus, best avail ORT and then BPA LB. FA- good year for a solid vet combo TE.(Bo Scaife?) Nelson is a TE/WR and Chandler is a TE/OL. Also, a LB to complement our 3rd rounder ie if we go ILB, sign a OLB or vice versa. Poz is ok, Moats looks promising. Best of Batten, 3rd rounder, Merriman, FA LB and possibly Maybin or A. Davis for the other 2 spots.

One could easily argue that Lynch, Whitner and McKelvin were all "need" picks. Our problem is that we draft for need one year (McKelvin), upside/potential the next (Maybin) and then BPA (Spiller). Whatever the strategy, we need to stick to it.

I completely agree. A legit RT would make this team better and we could find a long term starter in the second round. I don't necesssarily want someone who "could transition" to LT. I want a 335 lb, nasty, angry ROT who enjoys demolishing LB's while CJ gets to the corner. A man trained to ignore pain, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. Is #34 too high for a RT? Was #9 too high for CJ? Is Ed "Too Tall" Jones too tall?

My co-worker's nephew plays for Clemson so he watches them every week. I asked him about Bowers before the game. I paraphrase but I heard "man among boys, real deal" etc. I only watched part of the game and also was not that impressed. I expected Kiper's "best defensive player in college football" to be a one man wrecking crew against USF. I don't care if we draft Bowers or Dareus or Fairley or Captain Twinkletoes. We need production vs. potential with our first pick. Donte is a favorite whipping boy but at least he started 13 games as a rookie.

It all depends on this last draft class. IF Troupe, Moats and Carrington all become starter material and we get a difference maker with our first round pick, that's possibly 4 new starters in our defensive front seven. Take a starting ROT in the second and we would be much better. IMHO Easley and Batten will be like bonus mid round picks.
