  1. Astrobot, First, good thinking. I think YPA is a way underrated statistic and is a very good way to measure a quarterback's performance. I think your analysis largely depends on whether it is fair to consider this JP's first year. It is his third in the league, and he did have eight starts before this season. By comparison, Kerry Collins' season that you list was his first - and his franchise's first as well. By his second year, he was a Pro Bowler. Also, it doesn't make much sense to compare JP to quarterbacks of previous eras. Statistics were just too different then.
  2. It's not an overall ranking. It's a week-by-week ranking. What did Whitner do last week?
  3. To defend the few out there who are calling for the benching of Losman (if anyone is): Arguments for patience would be much better received if we had made the playoffs this decade and were not starting anew for at least the third time.
  4. You can watch every football game on the internet there.
  5. Any word on if Big Pat will play?
  6. Bledsoe's team record day came in that dome.
  7. Here's a complete list of every Bills play Sunday with under five yards to go: 2nd and 3: pass incomplete 3rd and 3: pass incomplete 4th and 3: pass incomplete 2nd and 5: McGahee run for 6 1st and 5: pass incomplete 2nd and 5: Thomas run for 1 3rd and 4: sack 2nd and 4: McGahee run for 13 3rd and 4: pass for 20 4th and 3: pass for 2 2nd and 1: McGahee run for 6 2nd and 5: McGahee run for 5 2nd and 4: McGahee run for 2 3rd and 2 pass for 8 2nd and 5: pass for 8 2nd and 4: pass for 15 2nd and 4: pass for 8 2nd and 2: McGahee run for 1 3rd and 1; Losman run for -9 3rd and 1: pass incomplete McGahee picked up the first down on 4 of 6 plays. On the eight 3rd and 4th down plays, he didn't get a carry. I don't see this as his fault. Lets give him the ball a bit more.
  8. King is a reporter. He did his reporting, and based on what he found out, he reached his conclusion. King, like every other human (save maybe the Pope, according to BBC), is fallible and doesn't have the luxury of answers written in granite. If you don't think he is a good reporter, then you don't need to read him.
  9. I was one who wanted Nugent, and I still have no explanation for how Lindell turned himself around. In 2004, he was 1/3 from 40+ with an attempted long of 43. Since then, he hasn't missed from beyond 50. Steriods? Anyone?
  10. Not told the Bills, told King. And I don't think it's olny what they told him after the draft. They also talked to him beforehand. This point has been beaten to death, but it all comes down to whether or not there was a risk.
  11. King's criticism is still valid. If he is right about no one taking him, then he is right the Bills' should have traded down. That is what he said all along. I don't think he ever called Whitner a bad player.
  12. Two years ago, or whenever it was he was a possibility, I would've put him in the same category I put Nall in this offseason. And I liked the Nall signing.
  13. Who's ever heard of a backup not being ready?
  14. I hope there's no let down.
  15. IIRC, Flutie was out, giving Johnson the start. Johnson got knocked out and Van Pelt came in. He threw a 35-yard flutter ball to Moulds that set up the winning points. Great game.
  16. Don't you mean the next Zach Thomas?
  17. We need to double Chambers and treat him like the top-5 receiver he is. Kop's sole responsibility should be deep help for Nate. remeber when they did that on Steve Smith last year, shutting him down and holding Carolina to 13 points? Same thing needed this week.
  18. I liked Van Pelt at CSU. He had a knack for making plays. How long did Todd Collins wait for his chance behind Green?
  19. Because it's "moral victory"
  20. We drive up to Buffalo from NJ on I-390 to 20A. Does anyone know where to pick up a sick pack along the route? I think we pass through Warsaw.
  21. Make sure to read to the fourth paragraph: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...ht&lid=tab4pos1
  22. I just found this site while searching for the Bills' over-under win total for the season: http://www.twominutewarning.com/seasonwins2005.htm Interesting stuff. For a five win team in recent years, the average win total the following season is 7 wins.
  23. One year, they were coming off a 9-7 season. The other year, they're coming off a 5-11 season. What did you expect?
  24. Can't let you get away with that one. TD took over an 8-8 team that made the playoffs the two prior years. Dibs, congratulations. I think that considering the optimistic view on this board (and one not shared by many "experts") is 7-9 wins, that's not saying much for the TD regime. If we win the Superbowl this year, then yeah, Id send him a thank you note. But say we win 8 games, then I think it is fair to chalk up a 3-win improvement more to Marv's changes (9 draft picks and half a dozen FAs) than Donahoe.
