  1. Problem is, Evans isn't gonna sign. He is sick of double teams EVERY play. With no top threat at WR, it like this Double Lee, 8 in the box, our offense stops
  2. He hasn't been projected to go in the second by anybody since he blew the combine up. This guy is Plaxico Burress, but faster and less injury prone. I'd be very happy with Either Malcolm Kelly, Limus Sweed, or James Hardy. Its just that Hardy seems to me like the guy that everyone is gonna regret not drafting.
  3. In recent draft history, the trend that sticks out to me the most is that of the 1st rd wrs taken, the tall ones are the ones to produce early. Most of the top wr that had size and speed developed into quite productive NFL players. The top wr taken is usually pretty good also. Threre is 5 sure 1st rd wr available this year. Possibly 7, despite what some analysts say. This reminds me of the Lee Evans class, with Deshaun Jackson being the Evans type playmaker. Larry Fitzgerald, Roy Williams, Reggie Williams, Lee Evans, and Michael Clayton were all taken in the top 15 picks. I consider the Bills lucky this year, all of the teams at the top of the draft do not have a HUGE need at wr. After the Bills pick, there will be a bunch of teams that will take a wr in the 1st rd. Reason being, there is an unusual amount of productive and tall wr with speed and potential. WR that will definately be picked in rd 1 in no particular order: Limus Sweed, James Hardy, Malcolm Kelly, Deshaun Jackson, and Devin Thomas WR that will most likely be gone by the Bills 2nd rd pick: All of above mentioned, plus Early Doucet, Mario Manningham, Andre Caldwell are probaly gone by the Bills 2nd rd pick I think that the arguement to draft a wr in rd 1 this year is based on Who will be there when the next pick rolls around... Predicting the runs and getting players at the top of the runs is a great thing to keep in mind come draft day. My philosophy is that in every draft there is at least 4 great players drafted at every position. A lot of players are taken out of order in terms of how they pan out. That is bad drafting. We cannot have bad drafting in order to be successful short or long term. My opinion is that rare talents become superstars in this league. Physically gifted players like James Hardy http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/profile...rospect_ID=1246 Limus Sweed http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/profile...rospect_ID=1209 Malcolm Kelly http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/profile...rospect_ID=1211 will all become at the very least great #2 wr in the league instantly if given the opportunity. My personal favorite is James Hardy. He seems like the rare physical gifted type of athlete that I would covet at the wr position. His combination of size, speed, and strength gives him the ability to outmuscle defenders for jump balls. That is rare. He had 36 td in 33 games and dominated with nobody even close to as good as Trent or JP throwing the ball. I watched him play and he dominated Penn State. Very agile, can catch sideline routes, can use his massive frame to eat up slant routes on 3rd and 6. This is excactly what this organization needs right away. I agree that the lines are still in need of fortifying. The good news is that there aren't very many center, guard, DT positions listed in the top 75 players ranked. There are sure to be diamonds in the rough at these positions available in the 3-5 rds. TE is a position that has 4-6 good nfl talents that are mostly ranked to be drafted in rds 2-3. So if I'm running the show, I'm trying to draft the best players at the positions I need the most for success short term and long term. Short term getting taken care of first. Taking players at the top of the "run" is the best way to draft. You get your "guy" that way. The Bills have their Wr already. I'm not sure who it is, but they will get their "guy" and It will be in rd 1. The Bills needs also work out for them in this case. They technically can get the Best WR, a top 2-3 TE, the top C, the top FB, and a wealth of talent lies in the 5-6 rds at the LB position this year. We can't address all of our needs with just this draft. We have to get good players at positions of little depth early and often all while not reaching on a guy. It is easier than most people make it seem.
  4. I disagree with everything you said, except that buffalo has no recieving threat comments, and the bills will draft best wr.
  5. http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/profile...rospect_ID=1246 This is what I want. James Hardy is the man!
  6. if they don't take wr this year, we'll have a top 5 pick. so good question i don't know the answer
  7. keep it coming! YOU the man! how about the fbs?
  8. lots of mock drafts http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/2008/more_mockdrafts.cfm make your own as well
  9. I couldn't say it better. I'll add, "Get guys that fit what you want to do"
  10. 1. We are unlegit at wr. Kelly, Sweed, Hardy, and Thomas are 2 legit, 2 legit to quit! They will be gone by the end of rd1. And that wouldn't be very legit. it would be unlegit to draft any position not called wr in the first rd. The money is just right. Lee and Roscoe can stay. And I'm almost positive that Lee will not sign a contract until there is another wr threat. It isn't very fun playing football when they put 2-3 guys on you every play. He isn't having fun. Will not re-sign YET. 2. I completely disagree with the direction you see the team going. I have been thinking that Buffalo is copying the mold of Indianapolis ever since Marv came. Its clear that Ralph Wilson envies what Bill Polian has accomplished over there. Money structure will look very similar in 3 years, it takes 5 to completely transform the salary structure. The Bills run the same defense. They were a top 3 defense all year and they have a very similar defense to us. We have McGee and Greer who draw praise from Chad Johnson and TO so they must be at least ok. Then we added Will James who can play bigger wr and excells in press coverage and understands the nickel role. Youboty may surprise some people. I believe in the kid! Love George Wilson! Ko can still be very good. Whitner and Scott are solid and durable. 3. If you really want to see an improvement in the win column, We need to improve the Huge holes first. Seems a bit ticky tacky to want to improve a position where we had a hard working and plenty fast enough undrafted free agent work his asz off, add 15 lbs of muscle, and outright win the cb spot. Then he shuts down everybody that doesn't already know the coverage(Pats wr) and half the fan base wants him out. I like him, obviously. Now, the wr, te, fb?, HUGE holes. I don't think that these workout warrior wr ever pan out. Its the slow productive guys that sometimes fall and produce. I think Get the best, or Lee is gone. raaaar I really want the draft to come. Its one of my favorite days...
  11. Kenny Phillips form Miami is the top rated Safety on almost every board. He is almost sure to be there at 11. He has a rare combination of size speed much like the great sean taylor had. Problem with drafting him at 11 is that it would be considered a reach by most analysts, and organizations. I agree that we are set a cb unless they get enamored with somebody. DRC? I like Harvey. Currently my choice is James Hardy who is also a reach but won't last past 25. Unless Kelly runs 4.3something, he is my guy. I agree that wr can be had in rd 2 I just think that WR and TE need to be taken first. I wouldn't be against taking 2 of each position if somebody worth while fell to rd 3-5. I just have a feeling that until we get some talent on offense this team has no chance. Nothing short of Vernon Gohlston could help our D as much as Any one of the top 4 wr. All 4 will be gone by rd 2! Then we settle on a dynamic talent that is 5-10 185 lbs again.
  12. Good video, I didn't see anything special from McKelvin. Seems to drop easy picks every time. I don't want him with a top 11 pick either. Seems to me, there really isn't a phenom. McKelvin also didn't blow anybody out of the water with his combine results either. I wonder what Mayock has them ranked now. I think Mayock is a good evaluator, but he is all out of whack in his positional rankings. I disagree with him a lot. That video is from NFL network during senior bowl practice. There has been a lot more information to evaluate since then, since it was way before the combine. I think the Bills should fill their biggest needs first this year. If I were in charge of the draft I would draft in order of need this year. It would go, WR, TE, WR, QB, FB, realistically we could get major contibutors from these top 5 picks. I like a Big tall wr, who is somebody that can play when Lee gets hurt or walks in free agency. One isn't enough! This draft has no rd 1 te but 3 rd 2 talents. All start right away for us. I'm really high on Josh Johnson in the 4th. I've been reading that we are recieving a compensory pick rd 4 for Gandy. If a fb is really going to be used I suggest getting the best at what he does Lorenzo Neal, but if not, it would be a good idea to get someone with enough ability to beat out Barnes. With less holes on the roster now that we addressed the biggest defensive needs: 2 DT, WLB, Nickel CB and a healthy Pos, Kelsey, Denney, and Ko, a developing McCargo, Youboty, Wilson, Wendling, Ellison, DiGorgio, and the experienced and well liked Scott back in the fold as 3rd safety. I think this is an all offense draft until rd 5 which could still be offense. It seems to me that Trent is good. With that being said, the Bills should surround him with talent early and often in this draft. The defense is fine. Cb is fine until Youboty tanks it in a game. I still believe that he will develope and McGee, James, and Greer is good enough for me if he doesn't.
  13. info? I read a whole bunch on the cbs and all everyone says is how this guy needs work on this and that guy needs work on that. But nobody has anything to say that proves that any cb other than DRC is worth picking that high. I'm all for getting better at any position. Better being the word of emphasis. compare McKelvin and Cromartie for me please... I'm not saying you are wrong, I wanna know what all the fuss is about.
  14. 1. Vernon Gholston- Bill Parcells sees the almost endless potential, LT comparisons, and is smart enough to take the biggest talent in this years draft. 2. Glenn Dorsey- The most dominant collegiate interior lineman in recent memory. The Rams problems rest on the defensive side of the ball. 3. Jake Long- Team is in desperate need of a "sure thing" Long is about as close to a sure thig as it gets. 4. Darren McFadden- Adrian Peterson's stellar rookie year has McFadden's stock soaring with potential. He is every bit as good. 5. Sedrick Ellis- Herman Edwards realizes that rebuilding starts inside and grabs the 2nd most dominating interior lineman in college football 6. Chris Long- Perfect fit for Mangini and his 3-4, steal at this spot but its likely he falls to the Jets as he is a 3-4 end 7. DR Cromartie- Patriots see the top talent quite clearly, he is the best player available, and fills a major hole 8. Matt Ryan- Baltimore can't pass up the #1 signal caller in the draft. Too much uncertainty long term. 9. Derrick Harvey- Rivers is the top rated LB in this draft, and that is a HUGE need. But the game is won and lost in the trenches, no replacement for smith 10. Keith Rivers- Best Player available and a big need=no brainer Players we might draft: Malcolm Kelly- seems like the best bet for a future #1 wr, fluid, great athlete, will need time to develope Limas Sweed- probably the most polished at this point of his career. Will be a fine #2 and possibly can be a #1 in 3 years James Hardy- Tallest, biggest, strongest, has most upside. 36 td in 34 starts. Instant #2, but concerns about a domestic violence charge Devin Thomas- Best RAC abilty. Doesn't have the size that Ralph Wilson covets, but is GOOD! probably the farthest away from #1 Care to add? I'd Love more opinions...
  15. no i'm serious. I like your draft but this one from my perspective. But i'm sure that will change in about 5 min cause I like so many different prospects.... Keep posting! it was just easier to quote and change then to type cause I like most of your ideas
  16. 1.James Hardy WR Indiana(i just think we wont risk losing him by trading down and taking him here, perfect #2 6-6 basketball star with most upside) 2.Dustin Keller TE Purdue(only 6'2 but athletic and we got the big boys with Robert Royal, Teyo Johnson and Courtney Anderson) 3.Jerome Simpson WR Coastal Carolina(really want to see him in a Bills jersey, he is a playmaker) 4.Owen Schmitt FB WVU (just has to work on technique and making more plays but is classic mauler and a workaholic which is what the Bills like in a player) 5.Thomas DeCoud FS Cal (a good tackler as he accumulated 116 tackles last year) 6.Keilen Dykes(underrated, fantastic year last year, and good size, sounds like a good pick to me) 7.Fernando Velasco(said to be very powerful and a good run blocker, could compete with Fowler or at least add depth) 7.Best QB available p.s. i would rather take Mario Manningham or Early Doucet in the 2nd, then select whoever falls out of Martellus Bennett, Dustin Keller, or Fred Davis in the 3rd but i would be very excited and pleased with this draft GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edwards for Pro Bowl 2008! thats what I think But I like what you think
  17. Who do you think they will trade for? Chad Johnson?
  18. who do you like as sleepers amongst these guys? Don't you think that the guys with great size speed ratio would have more value based on the direction of most NFL offenses? I'd think that the real steals are gonna be a smaller great route running wrs... I'm thinking that a lot of teams are gonna be taking rd 4-6 flyers on a lot of the guys you have listed in rd 7. I like your draft stuff. But if these guys are that tall and that fast, I have a hard time believing they will be waiting this long to be drafted. Especially with the Lack of quality special teams play across the nfl, combined with more tall reciever role players being utilized in the red zone.
  19. I hate the patriots
  20. It may be the way they have been beating us lately. But I definately feel cheated! Big time! They not only have a lot of talent, they cheat too. I am having some serious issues with this whole spygate thing and my whole outlook on the NFL anymore. Mangini plays the Pats so close but we can handle the Jets easily, its just Phishy to me... I think that Belicheat thinks its ok because MM used Milloy to do the same thing. But that jerk Belicheat doesn't see that things have changed around here. My guess is that Dick Jauron is so honest that he is also Naive. I for one am very happy about the helmet microphones for defensive captains. Should close the gap by at least 28 points. The patriots don't even huddle when they play us. They just watch our signals. And we let them!
  21. http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true I hate the patriots. If the Patriots were a single person, I'd do bad things to them! Good move though
  22. Does anybody who has season tickets currently, plan on attending any Toronto games? I am a ticket holder and I am not planning on going.. Simply because I live 70 miles south of Buffalo and I don't want to drive to Toronto. YOU?
  23. My thoughts excactly I hope we are right
