  1. I haven't studied him much. Is he the next Patrick Willis? What kind of NFL player does he project to be similar to?
  2. that was the most intelligent thing i've read all day. I've read a lot today
  3. Not that I know of. But I have my honey tape the home games because I miss the main stuff a lot at the games. I like to watch the young guys and miss out on some stuff. I know, its kinda a loser thing to do. lol! But Its better than crack... lol! I really respect everybodies opinion, its just that I'm seeing things from a different perspective and I feel that maybe I can help people see things through that perspective also. That is why I read the board, to get more knowledge and see your perspective. Maybe everything you say is 100% correct, I'm just trying to get everybody to think outside the box a little. Thats what I'm here for... My role on this board is to try and stay open, and try to be indifferent about strong opinions.
  4. Oh Yeah! Now there is a guy that is worth picking even though we seem set at DT. There isn't too many DL with that kind of talent. At 11, I'm not really about drafting the 3rd DE, or any position that isn't absolutely terrible. But Gholston, C Long, Ellis, or Dorsey was available at 11 I'd crap. There is a HUGE dropoff at the D line after those 4. The next wave of DL are way overvalued right now because the way the Giants won the superbowl. Now, I'm not saying that there aren't guys that are going to develope and be really good D-lineman someday. I'm saying that any DL outside of these 4 is a bigger reach than whoever the Bills have ranked as the #1 player at other positions. And the four players mentioned are way way more NFL ready than the "next wave" which will come off the board way too fast...

ESPN will be rolling mel's best player available and he will be getting madder and madder every pick. LOL!
  6. Aint our mamas the same? Seriously, I really see things like you do. In fact, If the Bills hit on TE, the height at Wr isn't as big a deal. I think the Bills should draft in order: rd1-WR, rd2-TE, rd3-C, rd4a-FB, rd4b-DE, rd5-OLB, rd6-QB, rd7a-OT, rd7b-OG, rd7c-CB. I also realize that if somebody slides very far they will take them, so they have to be prepared to adjust and find value in each rd knowing that you can't get all of your needs... The main thing is that we don't ignore the TE position in rd2. I say if any position other than wr is drafted in rd1, then they should wait til rd3 to draft the WR because the most value at TE is in the 2nd. maybe
  7. I'll go a step farther and list some guys that are looking like they are ranked too low. I'm going to use USA todays Sports Weeklys Draft Guide's top 100 prospects list as a guide to where the select players are ranked and about where they would be in my opinion: #5 Vernon Gholston- could be #1 #17 Derrick Harvey- #8 #20 DRC- #10 #27 Quentin Groves- #13 #29 James Hardy- #14 #33 Kenny Phillips- #17 #48 Fred Davis- #31 #56 Dustin Keller- #40 #65 Lawrence Jackson- #36 #80 Red Bryant- #50s #83 Jordy Nelson- #50s #87 Tom Zbikowski- # 50s #91 John Carlson- #47
  8. According to the "big board" is what I mean. If you see my post replying to Lets go Bills, that is what I think the Bills biggest needs are and somewhat better explains my thoughts on the matter. I do see your way of thinking. I'm not in complete disagreement with drafting a cb in the 1st rd. I just disagree that it is a position of GREAT need. Depth is needed, competition is inevitable.
  9. So how do you feel about it? Why was the secondary so bad, and in your opinion it was because McGee and or Greer were inadequate?
  10. Maybe I think Greer, McGee, James, and Youboty are way better than they really are. But don't you think that WR, TE, FB, C, and depth at DE, QB, OG, OT, and OLB are more pressing issues? If the Bills drafted all of these positions they could still draft a CB because they have 10 picks... I wouldn't be upset with anybody with the last name Cromartie in the secondary. But I think cb should be more of a depth pick than a position of high priority. All of the listed positions are lacking talent. The Bills at least have talent in the secondary. Size is the concern. It would make me sad if the Bills drafted a 5'8"- 5'11" cb.
  11. I completely disagree with the article. I feel that there are much worse needs than cb. I think that at#11, cb might be the best player available in the draft... I feel that McGee is a legit #1, that Greer is a legit#2/3, think that James is a legit #2/3, and Youboty is the young guy that could steal any one of their positions based on athletism. I mean, why are they are assuming that the Bills have a BIG need at cb? If they had done better research they would have at least considered how well Greer played, and that the Bills already have a tremendously talented unproven young cb who has shown promise and is truely a victim of a very unfortunate death to his mother that stunted his developement. He has no other mature family and a younger sibling. I have a strong feeling that the kindness of Dick Jauron had everything to do with him missing most of his rookie year. I know what kind of guy Dick is. Think of him as a 2nd year player that slipped out of the first rd. He was a junior when drafted, and is foreign. He is at offseason workouts and is one of the few players who is sticking sround for good this offseason. My guess is now that his siblings are out of high school, he is going to repay coach Jauron with a commitment level to this team that will make all of us fans proud. I think that it would be a big mistake to draft anything but some late round depth in the secondary. With that being said, I will really like whoever the Bills pick. I'm a fan
  12. I'm wondering if either one of these guys are serious contenders for the starting fullback job... Schouman is too short to start at TE, and Wright seems to be the odd man out since the emergance of Fred Jackson. I'm happy with Lynch, Jackson, and Wright at RB but who is the FB? I'm guessing that Buffalo will be drafting one but Schouman deserves a shot. http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/nflco...e&order=ASC
  13. very well said. I might add, we need that very bad
  14. I've been one of the people that really want a wr in rd 1. I definately see the value in getting your guy when it comes down to choosing a 6-2 to 6-6 tall wr that most likely won't be there in rd 2. I like the idea of drafting another position in rd 1 after seeing how good the te prospects look. My original theory was that there wasn't going to be a te good enough to make an impact after rd 2. So I thought that rd2 was almost a must for a TE since the Bills would be very likely to have a choice from 2 out of the top 3 te in rd 2. Most likely there are 3-4 te drafted by our 3rd rd pick and you can bet that somebody good slips to rd 3. Since the Te class seems so deep I now think that it might be a really good thing if we draft best player available in rd 1, 4,5,6,7. The problem is that it really puts a lot of pressure on getting production out of whoever slips to rd 2. Realistically 1-3 out of, Devin Thomas, Malcolm Kelly, Mario Manningham, Early Doucet, and Andre Caldwell could very well slip to the 2nd rd. Especially if the Bills don't draft a wr in rd 1. I'm very happy with any of the above players. As long as the Bills definately draft the best Te on the board in rd 3. The entire rest of the draft could be best player available. Lets take a look at NFL.com te prospects: http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/john-carlson?id=1966 http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/martellus-bennett?id=1062 http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/fred-davis?id=216 http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/dustin-keller?id=1074 http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/martin-rucker?id=308 http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/jermichael-finley?id=1072 http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/jacob-tamme?id=324 http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/kellen-davis?id=1066 I'd be all about drafting 2 te this year!
  15. time to get those mock drafts going, maybe we can get a fb with our compensatory pick in the 4th?

  17. TE is arguably our weekest position... My friends call me steely dan neilly. lol! or danimal, danno, dan the man hahaha
  18. http://qisports.com/nfldraft2008.html What a great job! a great site for mock drafts: http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/2008/more_mockdrafts.cfm the last updated dates are mostly not updated. almost all of these drafts are updated daily. usually pretty great site for all information involving the draft including prospect profiles across the top of the page once you click on the position it will list prospects. click on prospects for some decent info
  19. Listening to Tim and Pat Moving the Chains on sirius radio. Buffalo drafts at the 11 spot James Hardy wr Indiana. They do a mock draft every friday. These 2 guys as far as I'm concerned are the 2 most informed analysts in the world. The best. Even before they picked James Hardy in their mock
  20. That was a very good assessment. The Bills are boring. No doubt. But I love them anyways. It would be great to have some talent on offense.
