  1. We didn't get into buying another house too much, other than her wanting to send us listings. But say there IS a major problem for the new owner with my former house within a year, what happens to the house, i.e. who pays for the problems, do I have to take the house back, etc.?
  2. Thanks and a lot of good advice. I had an agent from Coldwell Banker (the largest RE company in the world, apparently) see the house yesterday. I want to sell after I get some exterior molding and a new paint job done, because the house has needed it since I bought it, so time is of the essence. I was worried that there were things inside that would be a problem, but the agent was very impressed with the house and saying stuff like "the house will sell itself." I was wondering "what do I need YOU for then?" But after reading the above advice, I realized that if there's no agent, like "stevewin" said, people will want to take 6% off the price immediately, so there's really little savings, or at least not enough savings to justify the extra headache. Also I think the agent can get an open house to draw a lot of people and get better offers, from a better clientele base. So I feel a lot better knowing that going with the agent, at least in my case, is the best option. That's good because I'd feel bad telling her I wanted to list it FSBO and didn't need her, when she had already met with us and put in the effort to do some research.
  3. Is getting an agent worth it, or should I try to sell it myself? Also what is the usual commission for an agent (i.e % of list/sell price) and is it negotiable? Any other tips would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
  4. The fact that is was a hole in his heart, which can be and was repaired, is a lot better than it being from another reason. However the limp is troubling, unless he recently had surgery, which I hadn't heard about.
  5. I think with Tedy hiring an agent for the first time in his career (or at least awhile), that he's ready to start thinking about #1. I doubt he plays this year, and I'd be surprised if this isn't the end for him in terms of his football career. Good luck to him.
  6. That's what I was trying to say, i.e. that he didn't lose the game by himself. But had he played smarter, the Bills would have won the game and thus made the playoffs. He obviously acquitted himself nicely with the rest of his season and making the Pro Bowl, even as an alternate.
  7. I got selected and was offered a 12 month deferral, which I took. I know have to serve next march.
  8. Marburg is less virulent than Ebola. Ebola's mortality rate is around 88%, versus 23% for Marburg.
  9. Hill would have been nice for the Bills. And the Cards will definitely have to go DB. They've lost a starter (Starks) and their nickel back (Hill), and Macklin, the other starter, isn't all that good.
  10. I guess that means you pass-block like Travis.
  11. Nate made a mistake in that game, going for the INT instead of the PD. Admittedly it was a costly one that cost the team a chance at winning, but I won't hold it against him and think he's learned from it. That being said, if I think the Bills could keep him for the year, franchise him next year and then trade him for a 1st rounder, I'd do that in a second. I'm averse to the idea of paying one player what a franchise CB makes, but I also don't know if the Bills could move Nate, like the Raiders are having trouble moving Woodson.
  12. Every player has their own motivation. I'm just guessing that, since TD offered McGee a contract extension last year, he must have done the same with Nate. Maybe the offer was too little? Maybe Nate and Terrence think of themselves as franchise CB's and will accept no less than that? In any case, you can't look at what other players got/took.
  13. Willis needs to be less lazy in his speech before people will start beating down his door. The kid is intelligent, he just has that "it's all good" attitude.
  14. Hopefully for him he learned that hiring your buds as assistant coaches is NOT a smart thing to do. Belichick and Shanahan succeed/succeeded largely because of their assistant coaches.
  15. You missed the point of my reply. I was trying to imply that TD already approached Clements years ago with an extension, and he declined, like McGee did.
  16. You mean like TD tried to do with McGee last year?
  17. I'd say $9M a year average and $14M signing bonus. Again that's for ONE player, not 2 like above.
  18. When he first became GM of the Bills, he was faced with the prospect of letting both Moulds and Wiley walk. He paid Moulds. So if TD thinks Clements is worth keeping, and Clements doesn't ask for the moon, TD will pay him. If not, a trade probably gets done.
  19. This is the Redskins we're talking about. They'd give Clements the huge deal he'd be looking for next year, just like they did with Coles a few year ago.
  20. The Raiders aren't a good benchmark. I think they grossly miscalculated the Woodson situation. Hell they were surprised when Woodson signed his tender. I'd be surprised if they traded him period, just like I'd be surprised if James or Alexander got traded. A ton of money AND a draft pick given up are a lot, again for a guy like Woodson with other issues.
  21. Phew! I thought you were advocating cutting JP!
  22. Woodson is washed-up. Overhyped and can't stay healthy. And the Raiders should be looking for a 2nd rounder at best, given that the Colts and Hags want just a 2nd for James and Alexander. What about the rumored trade of Clements to the Skins for their 9th overall pick?
  23. Sorry, I didn't get it the first time that they were REALLY old. You might be okay. Let us know how the call goes tomorrow.
  24. Did you "do" something specific, or is this a general "everyone has ruined my life, woe is me" BS story? I think you're making the right decision here. Nothing good seems like it could ever come out of a relationship with a person like her. BTW, let me state that I haven't had any problems with my IL's, lest anyone get that idea. Sure we do things that tick eachother off at times (although we basically use my wife as the sounding board and just move one without a word), but nothing terrible. I'd say my mom is more of a PITA to my wife than anything, but again, nothing terrible, just mom stuff. It's a shame relatives just can't get along sometimes.
