    QB protection is basically the only argument for not playing starters. Honestly I think it makes most sense to play the backup with the starters for obvious reasons. If I were coach that’s how I would run preseason games.

    What’s the difference between maybe 15-20 snaps in a preseason game vs multiple live scrimmages instead? Do you think without preseason they wouldn’t have live hitting scrimmages instead? It’s all conditioning the body.

    Injuries can happen anywhere. Plenty of injuries happen at practice. Always hope for zero injuries but it’s part of football.

    If Watson gets a year he’ll have a hard time getting back into the league. The Browns probably go after his bonus money and release him. Because it’s the start of him trying to save his career. He’s going to have to apologize repeatedly, show remorse, get treatment, and beg for another chance after this. Its going to be very hard to get another opportunity.
