The Pats....I hate em but I'll take em. -
NFL Rumor from Todd McShay
turftoe replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could it be that Cincinnati's interest in Kelly is not for pick #9 but rather at 22? Dallas has a big need for a CB and would love to get ahead of the Saints. Maybe there is a trade in the works?? We shall see. -
You've been a Bills fan for too long if...
turftoe replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A long time....but NEVER too long! Remember Howard Cosell introducing the MNF halftime show by saying..."Miami's got the oranges.....but Buffalo's got the JUUUCE. -
Not this Friday Knucklehead. I was thinking Friday the 25th but I was mistaken. The draft starts on Saturday the 26th.

I understand that things will be different this year, with the first two rounds on Friday. My brother and I went last year and were two of the last people to get a ticket. Literally, out of some 3000 tickets, we were like numbers 2,995 and 2,996. We sat in the very top row of the hall. My advice is to go extra early to get a good spot in line. We arrived at 5AM the morning of the draft and there were already 3000+ people in line. Luckily, the line, which started at a street corner moved to the doors and created a mad rush with everybody running around 3 blocks to reform the line. We probably gained about 100-200 spots in line and actually got two of the last tickets. Probably more than a thousand people stood in line for 4-5 hours without getting a ticket! If you are going to spend the money to travel all the way to NYC, you better make sure you get in to the show. The NFL should be getting a notice out pretty soon with the directions for those planning to go. Last year it said that fans couldn't line up at a designated door at RCMH until 5AM so that's why we got there at that time. Nobody mentioned that a line actually starts around the corner at probably midnight (10 hours prior to ticket time). I'm not sure what the times will be this year, but I'm certain there will be way more people than tickets! As far as the draft, we had a great time. You will be given a big plastic bag full of goodies including a draft guide, some snacks, and two wireless earphones to be able to listen to either the NFL network broadcast or ESPN, both of which are being broadcast right in front of you. Expect a lot of JETS and GIANTS fans, however, I was surprised at the overall league wide fan support. If you are a trooper and stay for the entire draft, (both days) you would get a free ticket to the next years draft. I couldn't afford the time, but some did. Overall, I had a lot of fun and the atmosphere is electric. Go if you can, but make sure you go early to get a ticket!

CB Leodis McKelvin visited One Bills Drive today. Buffalo
turftoe replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Do you mean Leode worthy? -
Well, you asked for it, so here is my $0.02 for the first 10 picks without trades. Miami Chris long St. louis Gholston Atlanta Ryan Oakland Mcfadden KC Jake Long N.Y.Jets Harvey Patriots Mckelvin Ravens Clady Bengals Dorsey Saints DRC Bills....... I also was hoping for one of the DE to fall to us but it didn't happen. Ellis is here as trade bait. Denver really wants a top DT and they pick next. Phones are open boys...... Any callers?

What's the deal with the hat?

After watching the Super Bowl, the whole viewing world learned how to be successful against the evil empire. You first and foremost pressure Tom Brady! Our DT aquisitions will make our defense much better, but will our DEs get to Brady like Strahan and company? Possibly, but the Bills could have their eye on a guy like Harvey, a DE who would compete with Kelsay and give us better depth at the position. Just a thought.

I was just browsing around and found a place with some video clips, mostly combine interviews. Everytime I try to provide the link it never works. Maybe someone here can make it work. If you go to Denverbroncos.com, under their multimedia link there is broncos tv which has the clips. You can grab the toggle bar to skip past all the intro/promo crap. I just finished watching Dustin Keller and Devin Thomas....our next two draft picks.

Patrick Willis in the Senior Bowl
turftoe replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Didn't Willis have trouble in pass coverage? I heard he has much better vertical speed than lateral movement. -
I wouldn't mind it if the Bills took Branch at #12. Our D-line would be set. Branch is probably the best run plugger in the draft.

I like to read Gosselin's final mock draft because he is good at gathering tidbits from his multiple sources and has been quite good at predicting the first round. He, however, doesn't have much of a clue about actually grading players based on first hand observation. Just go to the Dallas Morning News website and under his page there is a link to their top 50 players. They have Daymeion Hughes as the 10TH best player in the draft. The guy is slow and will be lucky to be picked in the 3rd round. I loved the draft guides that the late Joel Buschbaum produced. My understanding is that he actually studied a lot of film. I just haven't been able to find much that I like since he died.
-
They all do it to some degree. A little over a week ago, Mike Mayock had Leon Hall as #9 on his list. Now he has him at #18.
-
Beware of the prospect that leaps up the draft board in late April.
-
The best player available that fits our needs will be picked. It will be a consensus decision between Levy, Modrak, Jauron, and probably others as well(scouts, assistant coaches etc..) Thats what I like about Levy. He is a consensus builder extraordinaire.

Marv came back to Buffalo as a GM to complete some

Actually, I think you need a question mark. -
Sick of All the Mock Draft Topics
turftoe replied to BuffaloBilliever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How about a Flutie vs Johnson thread? -
Meachem and Evans would be a pretty good 1-2 punch. Fairchild had that for the Rams and it could help further the progress of Losman.

I just cant picture Bledsoe's bust in Canton. A full body statue, on the other hand, would be easy to imagine.

Who Will We Play on the Road AFTER they "Byed"?
turftoe replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Does anyone know the win/loss % for teams after their bye week? If there is a big advantage then this should absolutely be a factor in making the schedule. When the schedule came out, I knew just knew we would play the Pats after their bye week. It's not a matter of IF, only WHEN. -
Marv is doing the right things
turftoe replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Marv has done a lot of good for this team and I'm glad he is back. He did, however, make a mistake by promising not to franchise Clements. We could have tagged and traded him for at least a first rounder.
