When NFL network cut to the Bills war room, there was one table front and center. That table always had Nix and Gailey. Then the surrounding tables has some other coaches and scouts (i assume). But Modrak was not at the head table, and i don't remember seeing him in shots.
Nope. I'll trust NFL execs much more than a bunch of morons who hate a guy because they didn't draft a different guy.
Immature or not, Whitner has never gotten a fair shake from the Buffalo fanbase.
Outside of the Buffalo fanbase, Whitner is actually highly thought of.
As for stuff he says on twitter, sure it comes off as immature. But that's no more immature than the fans that ruthlessly attack him because he's not Ngata and can't separate what happens on and off the field.
I'm not going to bother with the nameplate on my Whitner because i can easily get a new stitched jersey from the chinese sites for $40. It'll run what, at least $25-30 once you factor in the shipping and such, correct?
From a football standpoint, i'd like Donte back, but at our price, not his obnoxious asking price.
From a personal standpoint, both sides (the fans and Donte) act like immature children with the entire twitter mess with him.
Since 1992, there have been 1.5 championships won by northern schools. Ohio St in '02, and a half for michigan splitting in '97. The best football players come from Florida and Texas, and the southeast in general. But yeah, lets draft northern guys so they have "cold weather experience" for the 1 game per season where the elements might come into play.
If there's one thing about the draft that i've learned over the years, its that next year's QB class is always better than this years.
Plus, next year with the 32nd overall pick, Nix and Chan are going to pick EJ Manuel, who's going to declare early after winning the BCS championship.
Yeah, aside from a 1st, 2nd, and a 3rd round pick spent on the DL in the last 2 drafts, the Bills NEVER spend high picks on the DL, You're so right.
But a 4th round pick spent on the DL is going to fix our all rush D woes!
Also, with regards to the other need positions like LB, there's a steep drop off at CB after williams, while there appears to be a good number of LBs on the board. There's more draft depth at that position.
Like it or not, it was a definite need, and a player with a 1st round grade on him.
Florence is gone, and McGee is getting up there in age. Tough to argue with it.
I only make the trade as per GG's parameters: Swap 2nds this year and they give us next year's first. Or, swap 2nds, and they give us their 2011 3rd, and 2012 2nd and 3rd.
Word is that the Browns told him they were taking Amukamara at 6, so he went to take a leak, and they made the trade while he was in the bathroom. Then they told him to come back in when they picked at 27, but pulled the dipsy-doo on him and traded up for taylor before he came back for the #27 pick.
Suh and Fairley? I think the interior OLs in the NFC north just peed themselves a little bit.
I love it that newengland* blew that pick of solder. Their drafting woes continue.
It must be nice to live in a world where you can pick and choose as to when exactly you want to draft your franchise QB, and you also know a year in advance that a franchise QB will be available for you to select at your draft spot.
Take Ponder in the second if we want him. While i don't advocate us trading up, the terminology of a trade up is a pet peeve of mine.
If we trade our 2nd and 3rd to get a late 1st, we didn't "give up" a 2nd and 3rd. We only "gave up" a 3rd round pick to improve our second selection spot. We started with 3 picks, ended up with 2, so we only lost a net of 1 pick.
There's 2 guys i was wondering if we could discuss, because i haven't heard much about them. What do people think about Cameron Newton, QB and Von Miller, LB?
