  1. If having a "disaster" draft like Chicago did gets you to the conference championship game, i'll take those "disasters" all day long.
  2. Butler is still young. There's no reason why the team should be in a hurry to get rid of him. But i certainly hope that Hecht and Connolly are gone, and i won't be too sad to see grier go. The team isn't that far away. They got a lot of good young players that are only going to get better. Add in a top-6 scoring threat and a top defenseman and the team will be looking very good for next season.
  3. what "big situations" has miller come up short in? A 1-goal loss in game 7 of the '06 ECF when we were down to pulling fans out of the stands to play D? The Gold medal game of the '10 Olympics where the USA lost in OT by a score of 2-1 and he still won the MVP? The '07 ECF where the sabres were out matched by Ottawa? Miller has started almost 30 consecutive playoff games for a reason. He's a great Goaltender. 29 other teams and basically every other hockey playing country in the world agree with this assessment. Its only a small group of loud mouthes in Buffalo that think Miller is no good. Thankfully, none of them are anywhere near running the sabres, so Miller is going to stay right where he is.
  4. if a team isn't sold on players at a particular spot, they are and have been willing to accept less than the stupid "draft pick trade value" chart.
  5. With all the teeth gnashing that goes on about how all the Bills do is "draft 1st round DBs," since 2006, we've spent more 1st rounders on the lines (McCargo, Maybin, Wood) than we have on the secondary (Whitner, McKelvin).
  6. Watch the games. Don't be a simpleton who does nothing but look at the goals against. The defense has hung him out to dry, as has the offense. I can't even count the number of times there has been multiple flyers standing unmolested in front of Miller. Getting rid of Miller would be the height of stupidity. Thankfully, Pegula doesn't seem to be the type to drink the moron kool-aid, so Miller will be back starting game 1 of the 2011-12 season. The entire league thinks Miller is one of the best goalies in the business. That doesn't mean he won't have bad games. Ideally next season, Enroth can play 20 games during the regular season so Miller is a bit more rested come playoff time. The only thing he's guilty of is being slightly overworked over the past few seasons.
  7. Is Enroth going to play defense as well as goaltender? Because this game tonight has been the Flyers versus Ryan Miller.
  8. From what i gather, if the lockout is lifted, the league would still need to establish the rules under which the next season will operate under. So even if the stay is not granted, free agency and the 2011 league year will not start immediately. Until this gets figured out, they don't want any football activities taking place.
  9. Amen. I'd be really excited with either of these guys.
  10. The 17 and 28th picks? No. 17th, 28th, and 33rd, yes.
  11. You guys do realize that this is an edict from the NFL, don't you? Teams were instructed to not allow players to work out ro conduct football activities. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2011/04/nfl-in-chaos-as-players-league-seek-clarity-in-judges-ruling/1
  12. Pitt has actually been split with their high picks. The last 2 drafts they have drafted the lines high, but the previous few years, their high picks included RB, WR, and a number of DBs and LBs.
  13. Taking Haynesworth jr at #3 would certainly improve our DT draft equity.
  14. Sorry, your mock draft is invalid. It doesn't include Casey Matthews in round 4, so how can i take it seriously?
  15. You're right. Its only the standing buffalo and the current helmet.
  16. The NFL is a passing league, and the Bills were near last in the league in sacks. We had no one that could get to and harass the QB consistently. Taking Von Miller is only going to help the defense, the same as with taking Dareus or Jordan. I don't think we can go wrong with any of those guys. I simply don't see why Miller is viewed as such a disaster by such a vocal minority.
  17. This. While i certainly hope that the throwbacks look like that, i took a look at last year's copy of Madden, and it is entirely possible to create and play with those jerseys using the existing jersey options they give to Buffalo. On the other hand, if those videos did get yanked, its a good sign that those are in fact the new unis.
  18. It may be good for the fans in the short term, but it is not good for the long term health of the game. Hopefully, a stay on the injuction will be issued until an appeal is filed. The owners have the upper hand at the next level. The best hope for the league is for the appeal to be upheld and the lockout to be upheld. This may be the only way to force the players back to the negotiating table. They started it by decertifying and walking away from the table. they need to be smacked back in line and forced back to the table.
  19. You dont understand. To most posters, anyone who isn't a 350 lb fat guy is a "luxury pick"
  20. Flutie didn't carry anything in 1999. He rode the back of one of the top defenses in the league to the playoffs. The Bills made the playoffs in spite of Flutie, not because him.
  21. If a guy is good enough to be taken at 10, he's good enough to be taken at 3. The jags "reached" for Alualu last year and look how that turned out. I dont think you can go wrong with Jordan. If Dareus is gone, i've got no problem with Miller/Jordan at #3.
  22. If you go by the value chart, newengland's* top 3 picks (17, 28, and 33) would roughly equal the 3rd overall pick. I'd take that trade in a heartbeat if i am Buffalo, but there's no way belicheat* gives up 3 top 33 picks for a single player. To anyone.
  23. And in your mind, were the 3-13 Buccs of 2009 (picking 3rd overall) on the verge of 10-6 in 2010?
  24. Amen. the amount of disinformation on Ponder is ridiculous.
  25. If game 2 is typical Miller, why is his GAA so low? Replacing Ryan Miller takes us farther form the goal, not closer to it. Seeing how the 2 playoff wins have come on Miller shutouts, that shows how much the team relies on him. But hey, 2 shutouts in 4 games? Any goalie can do that, especially in the playoffs. Most goalies pitch 3-4 shutouts per round anyway, right, so Miller's 2 are below average?
