Since there are a number of people who arent completely sold on Trent as a legit NFL QB, I simply want to know what are your own personal expectations of Trent Edwards for this upcoming season. No excuses, no ifs, no ands, no buts. I dont want to put win expectations on him, because so much depends on the rest of the team, and i'd like to avoid stats like sacks, because a lot of that depends on blocking. I just want to know what passing numbers you would like to see from Trent at the end of the 2008 season that would make you satisfied and or happy with his progress. Also, feel free to note any minimum benchmarks that you feel he *must* reach. I'm also going under the assumption that trent plays the entire season. For me, i'm expecting a season of around 62% completion, 3200 yds, 19 TD, and 14 INTs. That would be a good season by my standards. If he can hit those benchmarks, i will have a lot of confidence in him heading into 2009. Anything better than that is gravy. My minimum benchmarks that i feel he must reach this season are (again, this is projecting across 16 starts) are 2500 yds, 60% completion, 17 TDs, and 16 INTs. If he cant reach those numbers, i will have some serious reservations about his future.

sarcasm my friend. And to answer your question, no it wasnt.

Trent wanted to go to a school where there'd be low expectations and so he wouldnt have to compete with anyone. [/tards]

Good post Rich. WRT the LB position, i know you want more size, but what are your thoughts on our current cop of LBs? Are you suggesting we look for a LB early on to be a future starter (sooner rather than later), or are you happy with the potential of POZ, Crowell and Mitchell? I thik the appropriate spot for a LB would be the middle rounds to bolster the depth. It also wouldnt hurt to snag a guy with some size to sub in on short yardage/rushing downs.

1. Losman will NOT be a distraction if he's on the roster this season. He's admitted he wants to be traded (can anyone blame him), but hasnt threatened a holdout, etc or anything of that nature. He showed up for the offseason program and has shown no sgns that he'll be a distraction. 2. I can see Losman remaining on the team in 2009 as well. It could be very similar to what happened with Rex Grossman this offseason. Everyone thought he was sure as gone from chicago, yet he stayed on for another season. (most likely due to him not getting the type of contract he wanted on the open market) And for a QB, if you are going to try and make a big splash and hope to hit it big, you are best off in the system you have known for years.

The best part is watching the chinese fire drill during checkout. Sorting which things thay can/cant pay for with food stamps, then watching the cashier to stop her when the credit card part of the bill reaches $43, and then paying the rest of it off with a check. -

AJ, be glad you live in a relatively urban area. Nothing beats trying to get something at wal-mart, and watching the group in front of you pay for some things with a check, some with a card, and the rest with food stamps. -

Does he tuck the sack back and let you call him erika? Or does he just dress up based on whatever whim strikes them? I guess the second option puts some spice into your day, as you dont know if erik or "erika" is showing up to service you. -

A girl i work with still refuses to buy anything or pay for any bill online, out of fear someone is going to steal her money or her CC#. -
no...they have skaters that wear jerseys, but anyone that has watched them play recently would hardly call that collection of washed up has-beens a "hockey team"

TOTALLY ORIGINAL Draft Thread!!!!
Ramius replied to ndirish1978's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How about all the ridiculous mock drafts floating around here... Round 1a: Some unreasonable trade down with Dallas who just willingly gives us their 2 1sts Round 1b: Some completely unreasonable trade up where we send a 7th rounder, a 2009 4th and JP Losman and get a 1st in return Round 2: Some guy that will go in late round 1 Round 3: another guy that will go in round 2 Round 4a: Owen Schmidt, FB Rounds 4b-5: guys that will be drafted in round 3, yet they magically "fall" to us Round 6: some player from UB or born in buffalo Round 7: some injured player, or a developmental QB who will be taken in round 4 -

If the front office starts making decisions based off the rumblings on message boards, then this franchise is fuct. -
Here is the official discussion thread for the 3 round mock draft. This will also serve as the official trade thread. The rules are simple. There are 15 minute time slots for teams to make their selection. When it is the Bills selection, i will post a poll for everyone to vote on. Post your pick during your alloted time. Feel free to move along as quickly as you'd like. If you are on the clock, you do not have to wait until it is your time to choose. If you know you are going to miss you pick, please PM me or one of the designated assistants below a list of your desired picks. If you do not submit a list, a pick will be made for you based on the best available player remaining. Also, i am looking for some people who would be willing to help with the draft. I just found out i will be out of the office on tuesday and will need someone to keep track of the picks for me. The helper(s) also need to be willing to receive PMs from people who wont be on during their pick. PM list for picks: Ramius Trades: Philadelphia gets: Round 1 pick (#10) New Orleans gets: Round 1 pick (#19), CB Lito Shepard New Orleans gets: Round 1 pick (31), TE Jeremy Shockey New York Giants get: Round 1 pick (19)

Malcolm Kelly to workout again Sunday.
Ramius replied to Brandon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
makes sense that he'd workout again, if nothing more than to improve his numbers. But its really odd that he's not allowing scouts in. Makes you think he's either tryig to hide something or he's gonna have a guy with an itchy finger on the stopwatch. -

1. Just because YOU didnt agree with the Whitner pick doesnt mean the FO sucks. It means you didnt agree with them. 2. Funny how you claim the Bills desperately need to hit on the 1st 2-3 rounds in the draft and act like our front office has somehow whiffed on the picks, or is disabling us from making the correct picks. They've had 6 picks the past 2 years in the top 3 rounds, and came away with 2 very good players and soon to be stars (Whitner, Lynch), 3 players showing some real promise (McCargo, Poz, Edwards), and only 1 pick that has not panned out (as of yet, but i am willing to give him more time), in Youboty. And he was a 3rd rounder.
