PFW on Losman in "The Way We Hear it"
Ramius replied to BillsWatch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Saying Trent played better than the rest of the 2007 rookies is in fact true, but itis in the same vein as arguing the Hillary Clinton is more attractive than Rosie O'Donnell. Sure, technically, relative to one another, one of them is more attractive. Or its like saying that bear sh-- smells better than dog sh--. To the rest of the world, its still sh--. -
OVerall, vicious circle wasnt as good as some of his other stuff. Did you see the cutdown version, or the full version? Because there was some stuff on the full version that was fall off your chair hilarious.

I'm with SnR on this. I find Dane Cook hilarious. Rough Around the Edges had me laughing the entire time. The guy's not as good as Carlin and Rock (never liked Pryor too much), but he's funny. As for stealing material, theres about 5 types of jokes you can tell, so all comedians "steal" material.

Draft Tek Runs a Sim of Bills TradeDown
Ramius replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Bills trade down from #11 all the way to #29, they better get SF's #1 in 2009 for their troubles. The trade down isnt worth it for the current price. -

Westinghouse is like a PMS-ing ex girlfriend who runs into you and decides "she'll show you" by bitching you out. Little does she know that she's making a complete ass of herself in front of everyone, and everyone knows how truly pathetic she is.

Are we becoming a mirror of the Detroit Lions?
Ramius replied to AKC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll completely agree that building the lines first is the way to build a team. ITs something TD didnt do, and we are still seeing the effects of this neglect. I still dont think you are giving the Bills enough credit along the DL. The DL isnt a top-5 or top-10. But its made some serious strides. Adding in a 3rd round DT wouldnt hurt at all, forcing Kyle Williams to 5th on the depth chart. However, the team has other holes and more pressing needs that must be addressed. I'm not saying reach for a WR at #11. In your poll, i voted best player available. Ideally, i'd like a trade down to 17 or 18, with us taking a WR there. If we cant trade down, i DE would be a great pickup at 11, to bolster our pass rush, bolster our entire DL and infuse some youth into the position. However, given the holes on this team, taking a WR at #11, while not preferrable, would not be the end of the world. -

Which one of AKCs arguments are you using? When referring to the Pats* and Eagles, he insists that they keep drafting DL, no matter how good their current line is. When faced with other examples, such as the steelers, then the argument changes to "Well, ummm, once you have a good DL, they you can stop drafting them." Everyone knows that you need and want a good DL. AKC has just gone over the top with his overstatements and oversimplifications, and his utter refusal to listen to any opposing viewpoint or argument. There's more than one way to build a football team, ya know? -
You're the Bill's GM and it's April 26th- 11th pick

I'm going outside to smash some compact fluorescent bulbs. I'll make sure to turn on every light in the house so i can see what i am doing. -
I like it. Every other major sport has the all-star game that changes locations on a rotating basis. Why not do this with the NFL draft, and give most teams the chance to go to the draft closer to home?

FYI: Rule changes under consideration
Ramius replied to stuckincincy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We've had the playoff seeding argument, which i am in favor of the NFL's proposal. I'll address some of the other changes: I like this potential change. No more judgement call forceouts. If you dont get your feet down in bounds, it isnt a catch, plain and simple. Offense can adjust, and will have to correct patterns so the WR gets the ball with room to get both feet down. Most importantly, again, it eliminates any possible judgement call by the refs. I like the deferrment rule. Why force a team to receive the ball at the beginning of the game? If you've got a stout defense, let them get on the field, get a stop, and then you can get the ball at the half. I DONT like the elimination of the 5 yard facemask. Any pulling, tugging, etc, deserves 15 yards, but if your hand grazes a facemask, and you instantly let go, realizing it was a mistake, you dont deserve 15 yards, only 5. And finally, i wish the NFL would do away with the "timeout called 3 milliseconds before the FG was kicked." I would be in favor of eliminating the coach called timeout all together. Make a rule so only a player on the field of play can call the timeout. If they want to try and call the last second timeout, go ahead, but it will hurt them on the field. -

You're contradicting yourself, because the premise of your every post in the past few weekly crusades is "if the Bills dont take DL early in the draft, they will continue to suck, and are equivalent to the detroit lions." You insist that if we take a WR at #11, that we will somehow get worse, and continue to suck, which is simply untrue. You've also ignored numerous valid points and facts that directly contradict your arguements. A valid discussion would be to debate the merits of taking a WR at #11 versus taking a DT at #11. But you've never wanted to have a valid discussion. Your entire stance was that "if the Bills dont draft a DT early, they will suck, and everyone who disagrees with me is an idiot." You simply want to pound your idea onto others, with no regard for the opposing viewpoint, nor facts that contradict your arguements. -
After reading JoeF's post about JP being a team first guy

Theres idiots on both sides. The people that want trent to fail are no better than the people who are happy that the Bills did bad last season because it means JP is done. -

I think the more frustrating argument was with the people who somehow thought the way the Bills developed JP was a perfectly acceptable way to develop a young QB. Its something the team needs to change, or we'll be having thse same arguments in 2009 with Edwards and <insert next savior here> -

So, according to you, teams should continue to stock up on DTs, even if they have good ones, except for the steelers, who dont need to stock up on DTs because they have a good one. -

Define irony: Poster who trashed JP for his haircut and high-fiving his teammates lecturing someone else on personally attacking a player. -
Exactly. Losman was jerked around and developed like sh--, but that means little right now. The more important thing is that the Bills do not make the same mistakes with Edwards. Get him some weapons via the draft, and let him start and play through his growing pains. It'd be nice to see a little bit of patience.

You arent giving enough credit to the current Bills players. We dont know how McCargo will turn out yet, and he showed some real promise last season. With a good DT next to him finally, he's in a position to really shine. You say our D allowed no room for error? What about our offense? They allowed no room for error. If the D couldnt hold the defense to under 17 points, the Bills simply werent going to win the game. Every time our D gave the offense the ball, they could barely manage a FG out of the drive. How again exactly will drafting a WR make the Bills like the Lions? We've taken 2 1st round wRs in the last 12 drafts, NOT 4 of the last 5 as you'd have everyone believe. Again, if selecting WRs in a fantasy football draft mentality, why do so many teams do it year after year, including perennial powerhouses, pittsburgh and indy? You have some solid points about building a DL, but unfortunately they become obscured in your oversimplified, overstated crusade. -
As much as i want Losman to do well and succeed somewhere, the Bills made their choice in Edwards, and better damn well stick with Edwards for a full season (so long as he stays healthy, of course). If they begin to play musical QBs, again, i'll be infuriated with the coaching staff/front office. Oh, if Edwards shows some real promise this season, and has 2 bad games in 2009, they better stick with him then too.

They let go of trent's johnson long enough to stand behind him?

It all comes down to the fact that 99% of JP bashers are more set on being right than the Bills being successful.
