  1. The thing is, this is really only a big deal in and around buffalo. I've caught tidbits here and there on the various big sports networks, but thats been it. No one outside of Buffalo si talking about ti anymore. Sure, if Lynch turns out to be the driver, the story will pick up again, but Lynch's silence is only a big deal to buffalo and the BPD. No one else cares, and i doubt this is keeping Goodell up at night.
  2. What controversy on the team is this causing? As far as i know, the only controversy this is causing in on the bills' message boards and in the buffalo media. The other 99% of the USA seems to think nothing of it.
  3. In the same vein of thought, one should say then that the owners should hold up their end of the deal and not cut players whenever they wish. The player has no guarantee they'll be on the squad tomorrow, so i dont really fault them for making the max buck today. A way to fix this would be to go the route of baseball/hockey and institute fully guaranteed contracts, where if you cut a player he's still on the books for the length of the deal.
  4. That must be with the next gen. My franchise mode on ps2 has had RFA's for years now. My biggest peeve about franchise (aside form the ridiculous lack of scouting college players) is the "roster management" feature. It is supposed ot be in there for your team to cut overpriced players, ie- a 79 rated player who is making 5 mil a year. But it lists way too many players on that list, and it also lists players with expiring contracts, and the CPU automatically cuts them. It basically results in 12-20 90+ players hitting FA every year. After 1 season of '08, players like peppers, levi jones, etc were all cut. I feel your pain about the CPU offseason A.I. i dont know why they cant fix it. After 1 season of '08, the vikings (who had rookies adrian peterson and chester taylor) signed edge james, and then drafted a HB with the 5th overall pick.
  5. specifics probably dont matter to a poster who is on a crusade to string up all the bills players.
  6. No shock that you're backing obie wan. His post reflects truly what a whiny scumbag he is.
  7. If SD hadnt stupidly traded their 2009 2nd to the fuggin pats* for jacob hester, i'd say they are should be a prime candidate. As it stands, it wouldnt hurt them to offer their 3rd. Taylor might put that team over the top.
  8. Bentley on one knee is bette than duke preston on 2. Even if he couldnt beat out fowler, i'd rather have an immobile bentley over a 100% healthy duke preston.
  9. I'm on last gen, ps2. I have heard the progression is fuct on the current gen systems, but it still is piss poor on last gen, specifically in the playoffs. For example, last year i had ko simpson who was rated like a 77 or something. During the regular season, his performance was decent, and he improved to an 81. That seems reasonable enough to me. But come playoff time, he jumped from an 81 to a 90 in 3 playoff games. His stats were normal, nothing crazy or spectacular. Forwhatever reason, when you win a playoff game, all your players improve a ton, and if you win the SB, its very common to have your entire team's awareness go up to 99.
  10. it sucks for them if one of the missles/bombs hits his stash of trailers. I'd be pissed if there was a nuclear war tomorrow. then i'd have to plug in my ethernet cord to get online instead of using wireless. who wants to be tied down like that?
  11. While that is an admirable feature, you dont want a girl who is shaped too polygonic.
  12. are you suggesting he outfit her with Darth Vader-like electronics?
  13. I'm impressed with Whitner thusfar. I'm not impressed with Youboty at all. As for Simpson, i liked what i saw from him his rookie year, and last year was obviously a washout. We'll see what he brings this year. For being a 4th round pick, i'm happy where he is at and his potential to improve.
  14. Franchise mode has disappointed me the most in the past few iterations of madden. Theres a variety of issues that need to be fixed. I think they need to install some of the old Head coach features into franchise, because i want to both run the team and play the games. For instance, why is it in all other sports you can scout players in season with a scouting "bank", but in madden i am forced to play some stupid mini-game just to *hopefully* get a scouting report. Not to mention that the franchise player progression system is broken beyond repair. Why should my entire OL gain 2 points overall for simply winning 1 playoff game. Also, the offseason needs some major work. Like NOT having every team dump its best players, and NOT having the salary cap so high that no team ever comes close to it.
  15. IIRC, we gave up a 3rd to select a DT...
  16. Keep to the east coast. the west has been having problems with their plate tectonics. Perhaps you should stay at home and just listen to some Semisonic.
  17. In the past 2 drafts, the Buccs have spent a 1st, 3rd, and 4th on the secondary.
  18. As much as we argue about the Whitner pick, i've never denied that those 2 picks were great picks by the buccs. Toss in 2nd rounder aaron sears, FA jeff faine, and that OL has the makings of a good one. The only piece they are really lacking is a true LT. They have petitgout there for now, but are going to need someone else there soon. I havent heard if there are any plans to shift Trueblood over.
  19. Wow. You dont obviously follow the buccs at all, nor do you have any idea about their players. Sure, Clayton could be considered a bust. ITs touch to call cadillac a bust, because he got hurt. But thats where your post stops making any and all sense. Joseph and Trueblood are anchors on their OL, and 2 big reason as to why the buccs won the division last year. Those 2 are quickly becoming elite linemen. Alex Smith has developed into a pretty nice TE for them, considering he was a 3rd rounder. Gradkowski was a friggin 5th round QB who was forced into a starting role as a rookie. What do you expect from him? Your post can be summed up in one sentence: Its better to have people THINK you're an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
  20. DirecTV needs to come out with a "one team" or "one division" package for something like $100 or $125 per season. I'd much rather pay that to get only the Bills games or simply the AFC East games than pay $250 to get the entire NFL. Especially because all of the NFL games are on at the same time. To me, it seems that you'd get a lot more customers. I am a broke ass grad student, so $250 for sunday ticket is too much, seeing how i only spend $10 per week to go watch the games at the bar (which i usually watch 12-13 games).
  21. I dunno...i'm convinced from the 1 time i had miller lite that it is entirely possible to get an STD from that nastiness.
  22. For instance, see Super Bowl XL.
  23. Of course, one could bring up the point that the guy giving 18 year olds cigarettes would be perfectly legal...
  24. Are you talking about last gen (ps2, xbox), or current gen (xbox360, ps3)? Because the last gen systems hit their graphical "wall" a few years back. They simply cant support "better graphics and animations."
  25. I guess the problem comes from the fact that even if the parents had instituted a "no alcohol" rule at the party and some kid sneaked some in, then left and killed someone, the parents would still be held liable.
