  1. I believe it was. But now he's trying to sweep everything else under the whole "500K and a 1st rounder" penalty. He doesnt want to have to admit that the pats* 3 SB's are a complete sham and should be stripped.
  2. Perhaps james and john know a middle class white teenage girl that has been kidnapped?
  3. I'm not sure either. I kept waiting for them to say something about these two, but nothing. It was like a big joke with no punchline. BTW, since those guy just sit on their porch all day, how do the rest of the you feel about having your taxes foot the bill for their cigarettes and beer?
  4. No matter what else we argue on, i am fully with you on this topic. The pats* are a bunch of scumbag cheaters, and they have shown that they are willing to cheat and use falsehoods and do whatever else it takes to win in the NFL. The filth infests that organization* from the very top down to the very bottom. They cultivate and encourage a culture of cheating just to ensure a few victories. From the HGH to the videotaping to the blocking and/or using other frequencies for the QB to the encouraging cheap shots to the using IR players in practice, the franchise as a whole is downright despicable. What they need is to receive the equivalent of college football's death penalty. It should start with a ban to belicheat*, multimillion dollar fines to kraft to the loss of multiple draft picks. But most likely, Goodell will say that the pats* have suffered enough and try to sweep this under the rug.
  5. We've got the same thing at my mom's house in buffalo. Pioneer receiver, circa early 70's, hooked up in the basement. I dont know if this predates it or not, but my dad had hooked up his old reel to reel player to the receiver, and it still works.
  6. Too bad tampa drafted a first round CB this year. That move screwed them from making the playoffs in 2008.
  7. This is an asinine statement. So you are going to be negative and contradictory because you dont like the positivity about the team? The 2 year jump has gotten us into a position where we can compete for the long haul. TD took it one season at a time. Marv/Brandon have a clear vision for the future, one that involves being competitive over the long run, NOT just trying for a 2-3 year window. As for the defense, Stroud is 30. Do i need ot list the numerous DTs that have had success late into their careers, well past the age of 35. DT seems ot be a position where the dropoff isnt as severe as it is elsewhere. When you question the pass rush, did you consider the 40+ sack season we generated in 2006, or the poor results from last season when both kelsay and denney were injured most of the season. I think we'll be pleasantly surprised with the pass rush this year, as both Kelsay and Denney will be healthy and we have ellis in the rotation, along with stroud and johnson, and a vastly improved McCargo.
  8. Regarding the Bills OL, no, i am not happy with our depth situation. I would have liked to have seen us snag a mid round OL or 2 to bolster the depth. My question was to obie wan, who previously claimed that "numerous teams have starting quality back up LTs." I would just like to see the list of teams with starting quality backup LTs.
  9. There was no "plan" in place from TDs era. The thing did need to be blown up and re-started from the ground up. The problem was this. If the core vet leadership was kept in place (players such as milloy, moulds), they would be over the hill and would need replacements right now. The Bills were proactvive about getting the replacements in the draft. Its simple really. In 2006, the Bills took a look, and realized that it would be 2-3 years before they could realistically compete. So they decided to jettison the players that would no longer be productive in 2-3 years, players such as milloy. Teams do this all the time, and are lauded for their foresight. Yet you knock the Bills for this same foresight.
  10. Still waiting for the list of teams with starting caliber backup LTs. Note: answering that question has nothing to do with the Bills drafting tendencies, the way the Bills have addressed the OL, nor does it have anything to do with how the Bills acquired their LT.
  11. Well, lets just ignore that over the past 2 seasons, Whitner has been playing at a higher level than milloy has. He was an upgrade from day 1. Or are you saying its only ok to upgrade the OL, and not other positions?
  12. I find it highly ironic that you were so willing to crucify James Hardy over an incident with minimal details, yet you continue to defend a proven pathological cheater in Bill belicheat*
  13. I spent a good 15-20 minutes yesterday trying to find it with no luck. The old player pages used to list the base salaries for all of the remaining years on the players current deal.
  14. On the contrary, i think the Bills had to have Donte Whitner, not just any SS. We've seen them, in the past few drafts, move around to get the guys they want. They obviously have gone into the draft with specific players in mind, and did what it took to get those players, public perception be damned. And thats whats inportant, getting talent, not simply getting "draft value."
  15. No. theres no explaining as to why the Bills have played the pats* after the bye the past few years. But this years schedule was set a long time ago, both home and away. So the league is not "bringing the hammer down" on the pats*. The only flexibility in the schedule is the 2 conference games that you play based on division finish, and even those are set as home and away beforehand.
  16. Saw that. Looks like a convenient excuse in the event he cant win at belmont.
  17. To be fair AD, NE stole welker from miami with a poison pill RFA offer. Of course, miami should have given him the 1st rond tender, but thats another argument for another day. You are correct in that welker is good at what he does (read: slot receiver who catches nothing but glorified dump offs),but he's simply not as good as the media makes him out to be. I'll argue that he's no better than Josh Reed. NE just uses him extremely effectively. Put Reed in welker's position and he'll put up at least the same numbers.
  18. NASA, aka that little government "waste of spending that given us nothing of any value," has just dropped the phoenix polar lander right on the mark. First powered landing since the viking landers in the 1970's. Wat to go NASA! Now lets see what the little guy can beam back.
  19. just because we havent spent high drat picks on the OL doesnt mean we have ignored it. But we all know that the onyl way to success is to draft 1st round OL, which is why the vikings have been making the playoffs every season.
  20. The question doesnt involve the Bills and their OL drafting tendencies. Just answer the question. You claimed that numerous NFL teams have starting quality backup LTs. Which teams are they and which backups are they?
  21. Hmmm. the NFLPA website used ot have contract info (years and base salaries) for each player. Unfortunately, they changed their website a ton, and the link to that page that i had doesnt work anymore.
  22. clumping platelets on here always has a cap page posted, and its usually fairly accurate. http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showuser=2760 cap page: http://www.billszone.com/mtlog/archives/20...ry_cap_page.php
  23. yup, i said i had no problem with the Bills taking a WR at #11 last april. I never said they HAD to take one at #11, but that if they did, i'd be happy with it. However, if you asked me personally, you'd know that i wanted a DE or CB. The difference between me and Bill is that now and 2 years from now, i wont spend each and every single post whining about who the Bills picked. As for the amount we spent, yes, tossing money at a problem doesnt automatically solve it. However, it is important to notice that the Bills HAVE addressed the OL last year. They chose to do it through FA instead of waiting a few years for an OL to develop through the draft. (if you look at the past 3 drafts, you'll notice that the Bills tend to spend high picks on instant impact players that can step in almost immediately and contribute, as opposed to players that may take a few years to fulfill their potential) The draft isnt the only way to to fill needs on a team. I still think we have some issues with OL depth and would liked to have seen a pick or 2 in the mid rounds spent on the OL to develop some decent depth. However, it isnt the end of the world because we didnt do that. I try to understand why the pick was made instead of jumping to conclusions and whining. Take the Reggie Corner pick for example. I was a bit mystified as to why the selection was made. We seemed to be ok at corner, and *I* thought that the pick may have been better spent elsewhere, on the OL or a TE. Bu me whining about the pick isnt going to change anything, so i took a look around, saw the talent the kid had, read some stuff on him, and i think he'll turn out to be a decent player. The main problem is that not many people on here want to discuss or debate anything regarding the draft, because its much easier to scream "ZOMG! Jauron is an idiot and is going to draft a DB with every first round pick for the next 7 years." Bill tends to marginalize whatever good point he may have brought up by his over the top whining about first round DBs that for some reason, must be included in his every post.
  24. Thank you for being just another on the long list to disprove obie-wan's idiocy. He has been claiming that numerous teams in the NFL have starting quality backup LTs. But when asked to list these teams, he refuses to answer.
  25. I know. I was just repeating what i read/heard in that Modrak wand the Bills were highly interested in trading back into round 1 with the target being Dustin Keller. They couldnt trade up, but the Jets were able to, since they had higher picks than Buffalo. (i searched and cant find the link) As for Bill, i know its a futile effort. no matter what happens, he'll whine about first round DBs, while ignoring the fact we spent 75 million on the OL 1 year ago.
