  1. The Bills have a plan to make Peters the highest paid member of the OL. But instead of paying him, they are going to cut everyone who makes more than him.
  2. Hopefully Kelsay will follow later on today.
  3. How do you get a UF grad off your porch? Pay for the pizza.
  4. Know why Miami chose the colors they did? To get their student/athletes accustomed to wearing orange.
  5. No they can't. He's an ERFA, meaning he's property of the Bills once they tender him. No one can make him any offers. He has 3 choices. Play for the Bills under the tender. Negotiate a long term contract with the Bills. Or Sit the season out.
  6. Lots of teams aren't sure what the landscape of the NFL will look like after either a new CBA deal or on the other side of an uncapped year/lockout, so teams are reluctant to give up loads of cash in a long term deal. Most of the vet moves thusfar are the usual salary cuts/aging overpaid vets, etc.
  7. I'd take Coles in a heartbeat as #2. Set him up with a 3-4 year deal, which gives him 1-2 years to start opposite Evans and let Johnson and Hardy develop. It also allows Reed to work out of the slot where's the most effective.
  8. Just what sage said. If the match is dormie and you win the next hole, you'll win by 2 in the score. 3 & 1 or 4 & 2, etc.
  9. Good man. Sure UF has its share of good looking women, but does anyone really want to lower your standards and date some gainesville filth? There's much higher quality elsewhere in the state.
  10. Close. 2000 S-10. Not too unlike yours.
  11. nope, never drove a blazer.
  12. Good thing i'm not in chemistry and i'm leaving here shortly.
  13. Lets see... 1. Teams like to have good kickers 2. The going rate for a good kicker is 2+ million. 3. The Bengals have a good kicker who was set to be a FA. 4. Instead of letting him hit the market, the Bengals franchise tag him, paying him 2.5 million, ensuring themselves they will retain their good kicker and not lose him. 5. Other teams this season and previously have franchised kickers to keep them around. Thats the big picture. I'm not sure where your crazy old man rantings about taxpayers paying money for the Bengals stadium fits in this discussion about kickers and the franchise tag - although i'm surprised that you haven't blamed the franchise tag on liberals yet.
  14. What does me not paying for the Bengals stadium have anything to do with 2+ million being the going rate for a good kicker?
  15. What the hell does that have anything to do with the cost of a good kicker?
  16. Alex mack was a damn good center until obama won the democratic nomination. He's been terrible ever since and is probably going to be a bust in the pros.
  17. 2+ million per year is the going rate for a good kicker now.
  18. Good luck and best wishes dante!
  19. I doubt it. Not to mention that most GMs will tell you that very little stock is put into the combine when it comes to draft positioning.
  20. I highly doubt NFL front offices are all of a sudden going to change their opinion of a player and what position he plays simply because he ran a relatively meaningless 4.5 40 time. Especially not 2 months before the draft. Fans and idiot "draftniks" put waaaay more stock in the scouting combine than any front office does.
  21. All 3 of the DE prospects go between 250-260. Its not like they are going to get blown off the line. Take a look at the DE sack leaders from last season. A good number of them go 270 or less. Unless you are running a 3-4, chances are your team won't have a pair of 280+ lb DEs. Athleticism and tehnique can easily trump size when it comes to the 1-on-1 battles on the perimeter of the line.
  22. Good post Bill. I don't think Raji will be available at #11, in which case i'm hoping we take Brown/Orakpo. Though it may be a bit high, i wouldn't really mind Pettigrew at 11, because he's a complete tight end who can bring the blocking and receiving. If Raji is available at #11 i've got no qualms with taking him and loading up at DE/C/TE in round 2. Obviously trading down is always nice, but you cannot count on that. If we were to trade down, i think the targets would be pettigrew or perhaps Maybin. I see no reason why we couldn't use someone like Maybin at both OLB and DE. Let him play OLB on 1st and 2nd downs and then he can move to DE on obvious passing downs. As for Vilma, he'd be nice, but i am guessing he re-signs with the Saints. The only reason they didn't re-sign him is because they would have owed the Jets a higher draft pick (their 1st rounder). But from what i have heard, Vilma wants to be in NO and NO wants him back.
  23. Your info is always appreciated, gord.
  24. It makes so much sense. So much for "objective observation." You like Milloy, even though he's over the hill and hasn't been at his prime in years. You got pissed that the Bills let him go, which is why you hate Whitner, his replacement. Its like the JP-Trent syndrome, only with our safeties. Your boy got cut, so you have nothing but vitriol for his replacement.
  25. Claiming that Lynch "mowed down" the girl makes you no different than those trashing her for being fat and drunk. And if Lynch isn't bigger than the team or fans, then don't hold him to a higher standard than the team or the fans.
