  1. Losman was bad in 2008. There's no arguing that. However, the entire team was also bad during that stretch. As far as his development, it was mangled starting in 2005. I find it funny how both TD and mularkey (and the fans) claimed they knew he was raw and would take a couple of seasons to develop, and then yanked the plug after 3 games. Losman started to show some promise in 2006. There's no arguing that. Then he was abruptly bumble!@#$ed again in 2007. Think of it this way. Would you approve is jauron and co benched edwards after 2 bad games to open this upcoming season? I sure as hell wouldn't. But that's what they did in 2007 with Losman. Most of us "losman fans" wanted to see what he could do in 2007 over the course of the season and then move on if he didn't have it. But they never afforded him the opportunity. Its very similar to Edwards going into 2009. Most of us want to see Trent under center all year so we can determine if he's gonna be a good one or not.
  2. Agreed. Until any of the big SEC schools actually grow a sack big enough to stop playing division III football schools for the non-conference games and take on a real challenge, they have no foot to stand on. Say what you want about Ohio St, but at least they have the nuts to take other big name schools. As for tebag, the plaque is UF being over the top retarded and doesn't have a thing to with him*. *Tallahassee law requires that i conclude this post by stating that tim tebag is fond of manly anal love.
  3. Just a quick thought before tonight...if Sawyer, Jack, Kate, etc are all in 1977 and sun/frank/ben are in 2007 (their current time), shouldn't sawyer, kate, jack possibly all be on the island in 2007, having lived there for the past 30 years?
  4. get a few drinks in him and he'll tell you all about it
  5. On Rivers and on many other of his "blocks," Ward aims for the head. Sure they are "clean and legal" by the old NFL standards, but when you look at them, they are simply dirty. A huge block to de-cleat someone is one thing. Intentionally going for the opposing players head is something else. I also found it highly amusing that when they were reviewing the new rules on the NFL network, and showing hits that are now illegal, all 3 of their clips involved steeler player hits. Here's the rivers block. Ward leads with the crown of his helmet, on a player looking the other way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pec0phgsveY Here's a ward hit on Ed Reed, where again, you see ward ead with the crown of his helmet into a defenders head. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QGKlluCU0o...feature=related I dont mind good solid hits. But head shots and legal "crackbacks" are highly unnecessary.
  6. It was a cheap shot by ward, but he's known for being a scumbag POS when it comes to his "blocks." The guy has a history of "lighting up" defenders who are away from the play or aren't looking. And i agree. Big hits happen, but legal "blocks" such as the hits delivered by Sapp and Ward are cheap and unnecessary. Hopefully Rivers will return the favor this season and knock ward out for the year.
  7. Lori, for whats it worth, they showed a clip of the owners and/or coaches meetings on NFL network total access last night/this morning with all the AFL owners holding the "legacy" jerseys their teams would be wearing. Jauron was holding our current blue throwback. Kraft was holding a white jersey with red/blue stripes on the shoulders. Just found a link to that picture. I'm guessing we're going to be wearing our standard blue throwbacks in ne* on monday night. http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true
  8. Seconded. They do nothing but screw over the worst teams in the league. NE* is too cheap to pony up the cash to pay a bunch of their players, so they get rewarded?
  9. If you think the bruschi blowing was bad when he came back, wait til this game and watch the announcers spend the night flossing with brady's manhood.
  10. I assume you guys are referring to the long pass to Freddie Jackson against denver. Two things: 1. It didn't go for a TD. That pass play went for about 65 yards and Jackson was pushed OB at the 7 yard line. He scored on a run on the next play. 2. That pass to Freddie was one of the best passes i've seen trent make. He dropped it in perfectly about 25 yards downfield right over the defender and hit Jackson in stride. There's a lot of passes you knock Edwards on, but that pass wasn't one of them.
  11. You are starting to sound like Flutie with your, the "team" loses, but Trent Edwards wins games rhetoric. I've got $100 that says Bill can't even make it 25 posts here on the main board without some reference to either JP Losman, or Levy/Jauron and drafting DBs.
  12. Kinda like a colonoscopy.
  13. Yup. Since all of these guys work out year round, these work outs seem to not much more than "team bonding." These are the same workouts that Willis always skipped because he was working out with Ray Lewis and the guys from "The U."
  14. Correct. New head coaches get additional mini camps this time of year where they run through padless team drills. For the rest of the league, those camps aren't usually until may or june, and now is just voluntary conditioning workouts.
  15. Yes, in any given year, you can easily explain and probably come up with a good argument as to why the Bills didn't select early OL. (They do seem fond of late rounders however). But, over the long haul, you cannot continually neglect the OL in the early parts of the draft. At some point, you have to do it.
  16. My concerns about Edwards are the following: 1. Downfield passing ability: this is a 2-parter, and has nothing to do with perceived arm strength. The first part is his willingness to throw downfield. At some point, he's gotta put the ball out there. We saw last season you simply cannot survive and be successful by never challenging teams deep. The second part is his deep passes. Trent's deep passes, for whatever reason, need some work. They need to be better timed and the ball needs to hit the WR in stride. Too many times our WR's have to stop and wait or come back to the occasional deep ball thrown by edwards. 2. Injury factor: Trent needs to find a way to stay healthy for 15-16 games every year. He has yet to demonstrate this ability. Sure, QBs get hurt. But in a league where teams are so close at season's end, its very tough to be successful if you can only count on your starting QB for 11-12 games. 3. Passing TDs: Trent needs to find a way to put the ball in the endzone a lot than he's been doing. I'm not saying he needs to be a mad bomber and toss 30 TDs per year, but he needs to get to a point where he's consistently throwing at least 20-22 TDs per season. His current rate of 18 TDs in 23 games needs to improve. (For comparison's sake, i count Trent's first start at NE and the arizona game last year as 1 game combined). What i find very disturbing is that Trent has thrown multiple TDs in only 3 of his 23 career games. Tossing more than 1 TD once every 8 games simply isn't going to cut it at the QB position in the NFL.
  17. They were only following FSU tradition. After the baseball team choked in last year's CWS, the basketball team need felt the need to out-do them. They should have won handily with a 12 point halftime lead. However, i'll attribute a lot of it to inexperience. Our team is still very young, with all of the big time players (douglas aside) either freshmen or sophmores. FSU should be making some noise in the ACC for the next few years at the very least. That being said, wisconsin players were flopping so much they made the World Cup jealous. I swear, the Big 10 is intent on setting sports back to the 1950s with the garbage way those teams play both football and basketball.
  18. The problem isn't so much not drafting OL in round 1, but the Bills' refusal to draft any OL in rounds 2-3. There's lots of really good OL that are taken in those rounds every year, yet the Bills never do.
  19. Perhaps Jauron is onto something. At the rate we are wussifying the game, specifically the flag football rules regarding the QB, DEs are soon to be obsolete. Better stock up on CBs that can cover the pass.
  20. The 2 have nothing to do with each other, and I'll echo the same sentiment of VA. Losman did what he asked, busted his butt, tried to get better, just couldn't put it all together on the field. Peters has a ton of natural talent, but instead of showing commitment, he's showing that he really only cares about the next big payday. There are some serious warning signs that even if he gets paid, he'll lose all motivation to actually perform. If he were to show up to off season activities and training camp and take the proper approach to renegotiating a contract, or he can continue to be a baby and whine and cry and gain weight and not be in shape, and then waste half of our season with his piss poor play.
  21. I've got no problem with the joke, because i've made jokes like that about myself and others countless times. I'm sure we all have, and anyone on here who has called someone else a tard has made the exact same joke. The problem is, you've got to realize that you can't say that joke when you're the president and you're on camera. Stupid comment by Obama. In the bar with your buds, sure. On national TV, hell no. As for the media and the constitution, its wishful thinking. The only way you'd get the media to pay that much attention to it would be if there was an American Idol amendment being passed.
  22. At least those guys bring it week in and week out and put the team above themselves. Peters is seeming more and more like a fat tub of lard who is going to balloon up to 380 and coast when he signs a new, big money deal. I'm all for a player getting the most money possible. But in return, i expect 100% on the field, not taking 9 games to get into game shape because his fat ass wasn't in camp. Its his antics that people are pissed at, NOT his desire for more money. If Peters had showed up to camp last year and busted his ass, there would be overwhelimg support in his corner to give him a new deal from everyone. Instead, he chose to be a selfish fat baby which is why so many people are against him.
  23. Definitely Jennings. He had a ton of talent and was a hell of an LT. Of course, he also was a huge vag. Jennings started 53/64 games in 4 years in buffalo. In San Fran, he's started 23/63, missing an average of 10 games per year. Of course, the question is, would you rather have jonas jennings starting 8-10 games per year, or our current tub of goo who will continue to hold out and eat tim hortons/mickey Ds, sit the first 2 weeks, spend the next 7 getting getting his fat ass finally in shape, and play solid LT for 7 games. Either way, you are getting solid LT play for about half a season. The only difference is Jennings is a lot cheaper. EDIT: With McCargo, we'll see how he does with the new DL coach who doesn't hate him. Perhaps he blossoms into a decent player, or perhaps not.
  24. White will be gone in round 2.
  25. No way rookies cost $10 million in cap space. If you look at the traditional "rookie pool cap," even the teams with the #1 overall pick usually have a 5-6 million limit. No way we spend more than about $4 mil cap space on rookies.
