  1. You got all amped up about it, so you're the fool, not Gilmore.
  2. How does Kolb's agent misunderstanding something make the Bills FO amateurs?
  3. Manuel isn't being talked about at the top of round 1 because of his inconsistency. He's got all the tools, and has put it all together for some games, but not the week in and week out you'd like to see. For comparison's sake, The Clemson game from this past season was one of his best games in his career. The UF game from this past season was one of the worst of his career. Most of his flaws are the type that seem to be coachable. Also, once we suffered a few injuries to the OL, pass protection suffered. SJBF, in the NC St game, EJ didn't play great, but Jimbo hurt the team. FSU got a 16-0 lead at the half, and Jimbo went into a shell in the second half by sitting on the ball and trying to run out the clock instead of letting the offense continue to operate normally. EJ did make mistakes in the game and i'm not dismissing those, but he also was not put in the best position to succeed. Just to clarify a few points i've seen that are blatant lies: Myth: The Seminoles ran a simplified offense for EJ. The offense wasn't simplified at all. It was a short to intermediate based passing game. EJ rarely thrwe the ball deep, and a lot of us FSU fans were frustrated that Jimbo wasn't calling plays to get the ball downfield more. EJ"s not dumb or stupid. There was no need to "simplify" anything. Myth: EJ can't run the read option. There are 2 things wrong with this statement. First, the 'Noles did not run the read-option. EJ was never asked to run the read option. They ran plenty of traditional option plays, but not the read option. There's a difference between the 2. The read-option is where the QB hands the ball off from a standstill or keeps it. the traditional option, which FSU runs sometimes, is when the QB and RB roll out, and the QB either keeps or pitches out. Second, EJ runs the traditional option as best as anyone i've seen. He knows when to keep and when to pitch out, but more importantly, he knows the perfect time to make the pitch. there were numerous time you'd think he was going to get tackled for no gain, and at the last second, he sucked in the defender and made the pitch, allowing our RB to easily gain 10-15 yards. I have a love/hate relationship with EJ. He was one of my favorite players on FSU, but his maddening inconsistency led to numerous 4 letters being slung in his direction during some games. However, i'll gladly continue yelling at him if Buffalo drafts him. To me, he's got the highest ceiling, and in a draft with no sure things, thats the reason to choose him.
  4. Jason Peters is Darelle Revis...but 400lbs fatter at 10% as talented. And peters might be the stupidest player in the league. But hey, I suppose hes ok if you only ask him to block air and not require him to do anything as mentally taxing as noticing and blocking a blitzing safety.
  5. Uhh, no. It means that putting in 100% effort isn't enough if you're not winning and advancing towards your goal. If you keep losing, simply saying "i did my best" isn't enough. Losers always whine about doing their best. Winners go home and f%ck the prom queen.
  6. You nailed it. Davis is thinking that if he can show that he's healthy and close to what he was, he can cash in big time next year. Part of me wonders if OBD isnt making many signings because a lot of these guys currently on the market want only a 1 year deal to try and cash in again next year, whereas OBD wants them for multiple years to build a team.
  7. Maybe their mascot is the one coming out?
  8. This thread is hilarious for no other reason that to see all the negative ninnies get their panties in a bunch because a national writer dares to write some positives on the Bills and likes the HC hire. The article was good. It sure as hell beats the same old crap about how we're supposedly going 2-14 next season.
  9. I understand that big boards are trying to reflect the absolute ability of a player. Thats fine, if you're simply compiling a list. The problem comes in when you use the big boards as a jumping off point for a computer to make draft selections like DraftTek does. For their purposes, to accurately reflect the current NFL, all QBs need to be bumped up about 20 spots, given thats how much more they will be valued on draft night. Drafttek is doing everyone a disservice by using incorrect rankings for their simulation.
  10. Drafttek is looking like nothing more than bleacher report with this crap. What a waste of bandwidth. Tough to lend credibility to a system that is not even close to being based in reality. I guess you guys are giving up on any and all semblance of accuracy Astrobot? If Geno Smith falls to #8, you ignore Minnesota's call and calmly turn in the card with Geno's name on it.
  11. They can spew all that garbage all they want, but i wouldn't be surprised to see 3 QBs go in the top 9 and/or 5 in the first 41.
  12. I love EJ, so here was my end of season analysis just after the bowl games, but PRIOR to the senior bowl, combine, etc. I'll just add that i think he's got the ability to develop into a franchise QB, but as i stated, he'll need some work. To me, everything that can be seen as a "negative" with him is correctable. And Jimbo definitely hurt EJ last season. As for the crap analysis from walterfootball, its just that, crap. The guy hasn't the slightest clue about EJ, and some of the things posted were flat out lies. Remember, walterfootball is still stinging from claiming Jimmy Claussen was going to be far and away the best QB in the 2009 draft. its a fan site, run by someone living in mom's basement, and nothing more.
  13. Didn't the Bills go 6-10 in Jauron's final season?
  14. $8 mil for an OG is ridiculous. You've got to look at your projected budget for your entire OL, for not only this year, but the years in the future. Wood's due next year, and i see OC as much more vital than OG. So Levitre walk this year for insane money may help keep the rest of the line intact. It sucks losing him, but every team loses good players via FA. Its the nature of the game.
  15. Chan Fitz Buddy The changeover is almost complete.
  16. Agreed. If they bring in 3-4 solid players to fill some holes, that'll be a much more successful FA period than having one big "splash". If they bring in a decent OG, LB, and WR, that's a good start to the offseason.
  17. Meet a few scientists that have spent their lives buried in academia, and its extremely easy to see how this happens.
  18. How are talking ab out rotating QBs? Going into a game with a set plan for Player X to play a few series and switch to Player Y, or starting with player X, and if he's ineffective, switch to Y early on?
  19. Its some of both. Yes, EJ is supremely talented but frustratingly inconsistent. But Jimbo did him no favors. The offense was not always designed to best utilize EJ. After the clemson game, EJ stopped running and Jimbo rarely took shots down the field. It was baffling to most of us FSU fans. Jimbo is an odd bird. He never let EJ just go out and win the game unless it was necessary.
  20. The Iron Sheik is definitely worth a follow. Hes hilarious, provided you arent offended by lewdness and profanity.
  21. So we can expect a lot of nickelback halftime performances?
  22. Not to ruin your rant, but we rattled off the 4 game win streak under Dickie Jauron in 2008, when we started 4-0. The OT losses to Baltimore and Pittsburgh were in 2010 under Gailey, part of the 4-12 season.
  23. For what its worth, this year agents and teams for UFAs are allowed to talk on March 9th, but players can't speak to any teams until the 12th. Its entirely possible that Levitre's agent can find out what teams are willing to pay and see if the Bills will match it before UFA starts.
