  1. I think the issue is the celebrating. Almost any time you see a player stand up and celebrate after a big hit (which White did), there's a flag thrown. It's nonsense, the NFL has become a joke, but if I was coaching these guys I'd tell them not to make any waves after a big tackle. Also, did anyone else notice in last night's game that Artie Burns' fumble-causing hit was helmet-first? The announcers (who were awful) didn't pick up on it - should've been a flag. Was a big turning point in the game.
  2. Again, with betting on games now legal in many states - the NFL needs to get its act together. They are amazingly tone deaf, reactionary, and stupid. You've got a bunch of billionaire owners who are not used to being challenged or questioned, a well-paid fig leaf commissioner whose only job is to protect the owners at all costs, and an administrative regime run by incompetents.
  3. Yeah maybe so - but the NFL has a serious integrity problem at this point and needs to stop being so tone-deaf. Sports betting is now legal, the implications of that haven't fully set in for the league - you cannot have games swing on discretionary, ill-understood calls on a weekly basis, too much money is at stake.
  4. I don't know about "biggest bust" but I do think Zay is in the discussion as the worst starting player in the entire NFL - he's really that bad. He fights the ball when he tries to catch it - he almost dropped that 53-yard bomb against San Diego. He rarely gets himself open. He runs with no explosion or power. Honestly, he's awful.
  5. Benjamin is not putting the work in during the week or on Sundays. He was repeatedly lining up wrong against Minnesota and, coupled with the drops, it reflects a guy who just doesn’t have his heart in the game. And don’t forget this is the same clown who needlessly called out Cam Newton a few weeks ago for not being a good enough QB and making Benjamin look bad - meanwhile Benjamin’s own lazy tape is what makes him look bad. He will get a few more chances because of his pedigree but I see him being out of the league in another year or two. Just doesn’t want it.
  6. I read it - I don’t see it. Again this is a normal New England September. The front seven is still gelling - I guarantee you that by the time we play them they’ll be playing fast and downhill and stopping the run. On offense, yes they have a talent deficiency and yes Brady is pissed about it but we’ve seen this before too. And with the Gordon trade and other recent moves I see a team working to upgrade its personnel mid-season - unlike the Bills, who stubbornly trot out Arena League players week after week. Getting Edelman back is huge for them as it gives Brady a second option when Gronk is covered. They’ll be fine.
  7. Again - the NFL is populated by morons. It amazes me how a billion dollar industry manufactures its own controversies and gets in its own way year after year. The NFL unnecessarily falls on itself!
  8. Writing off the Patriots during the first month of the season - which they treat like an extension of the preseason - has been a fool's errand. This guy is a moron.
  9. Correct, but Alabama's chances of beating the Vikings improved exponentially.
  10. The NFL may have jumped the shark. They're tone-deaf morons.
  11. One thing - film study. The Bills' defenders were running the routes for the WRs today, even most of the catches were highly contested (until the soft zone at the end). That's solid film study.
  12. Someone here told me a few days ago that the replay system works fine... It doesn’t. The NFL is populated by bozos.
  13. I mean, some of us predicted he'd be right about where he is - so in that sense, no, but objectively yes, certainly at this point in his career. Maybe he can find a place for himself in this league but I've yet to see anything from him that suggests he's anything more than a nice rotational effort guy.
  14. Nothing like a careful, strategic, well-executed plan.
  15. Folks don’t realize it but Minneapolis has a high concentration of Fortune 500 companies. Also, a nice stadium will make it more difficult to turn the parking lot into a cross between a Phish concert and “Escape from New York,” which seems to be all that 30% of Bills fans care about.
  16. Edmunds is getting a great education going up against good QBs and good offenses. This part of the “process” I endorse.
  17. Should I change my screen name to "Cooing for Bodine" or "Pining for Groy"? Maybe I should start a poll.
  18. Except it doesn't! The NFL can't even get the video review system right - they're constantly overturning calls without clear and convincing video evidence, or letting obviously poor calls stand.
  19. I really cannot understand why a multi-billion dollar industry cannot get its act together to design and enforce rules in a clear and consistent way. It is affecting my enjoyment of, and interest in, the sport. I watch less and less of it. Goodell's NFL is boring, unfair, and surprisingly reactive and stupid.
  20. That gets called against Buffalo - we all know it.
