The inability of people over 55 to apply critical thinking skills to content they encounter on Facebook is a huge reason for the mess we find ourselves in. That generation came of age with the dawn of mass-produced television and they learned at an early age to believe whatever the box told them. It has not translated well. Facebook + Baby Boomers = Chaos And if you don’t believe me I will show you my mom’s Facebook feed.

Yet here you still are, on a football message board, yammering endlessly about how disengaged you are...

I’m the snowflake!?!? You can’t watch your favorite team play your favorite sport because the players’ politics upsets you ?

I mainly don’t watch NASCAR, bull riding, or hunting shows because I despise the politics of the “athletes” and their fans and I can’t stand the pseudo-fascist “YOO ESS AY!” nonsense they blast at full tilt. But I don’t feel the need to go to NASCAR forums to announce my displeasure and threaten to boycott, nor do I yell “stick to sports” when some hick race car driver says yet another stupid thing to a microphone. NOBODY CARES IF YOU LEAVE, JUST DO IT ALREADY.

Honestly go watch NASCAR and UFC and conspiracy videos on Facebook. No one cares. If you feel triggered by the politics of the people who entertain you then just don’t pay for the product. Why is it that the same folks who want athletes to “shut up and play” can’t “shut up and leave”?

Well that’s not true either. Granted we are now in the land of hypotheticals but if he was grabbing a knife while engaged with the cops then almost any jury is going to find that lethal force was justified. We cannot live in a society where a perp can grab a weapon while engaged with police and they have to ask politely for him to put it down. OTOH we have yet to hear definitively that he grabbed his knife and if that had happened you’d expect that to be the first thing to be pointed to in defense of what happened.

I wouldn’t go nearly that far and honestly that kind of thinking is part of the problem.

It’s not about “gadget plays” it’s about plays designed specifically for McKenzie and the fact that they move him around the formation to help identify coverages pre-snap and exploit matchup mismatches post-snap.
