  1. Even if we were able to land ALL those people (unrealistic), even if Beane was on the same page with you and traded Edmunds (unrealistic), even if every possible way to free up every penny was able to be done and agreed upon by those players (unrealistic) - we still wouldn't have enough cash to make all of that happen. Saquon Barkley, Chandler Jones, Rob Gronkowski, Bobby Chandler, and re-signing Harrison Phillips is insanely unrealistic.
  2. It's Saturday. Free Agency opens on Monday. Beane's gonna do some stuff between now and then to get some wiggle room to make moves. But THAT much? No way. "They can do anything they want" is such a minimizing thing to say. It's not that simple. You need to have the contracts to make it work for both parties and you need them to agree to it. If it were as simple as that, we'd have the space right now.
  3. Apparently, I missed the memo that being 2 million under the cap actually means we're 50 million under the cap. We can make some moves to free up some money. But not THAT much. And there's a lot of you who are going to be really disappointed because Edmunds will be here this year and will most likely be extended to free up space. He will NOT be traded. Beane even acknowledged his detectors and made a point to say he doesn't agree with you.
  4. So we lose Emmanuel Sanders, Isaiah McKenzie, and Cole Beasley and you have us signing no replacements in FA and not taking a WR in the first 3 picks? That's a bold strategy.
  5. Benjamin Allbright has been wrong more often than he's right. I'm not *expecting* Chandler Jones - but Allbright saying something is or isn't going to happen is meaningless to me. I'd also add two things 1.) He's a Broncos reporter who seems to be hoping Jones is coming replying to a Bills reporter who seems to be hoping Jones is coming. So it might just be playful banter. 2.) If Jones does go to Denver, they aren't getting the Von Miller reunion like has been long suspected. And if Buffalo was going to pay for Chandler Jones, I'd imagine they'd be interested in paying for Von Miller as well.
  6. Interesting thing to me is that the Broncos are in on him as well. Most people are convinced Von Miller is coming back to them. If so, they're out and they're the only other "contender" for Jones who's looking to play for a contender. Also can't help but wonder if the fact that they're in on him might point to Von Miller to the Broncos not being the forgone conclusion most are pointing to. And if not, maybe we're interested in him as well?
  7. Honestly, this is the type of RB acquisition I'd expect. Very much the Frank Gore, T.J. Yeldon, Matt Breida inexpensive veteran type that Beane likes to bring in behind Singletary.
  8. Who said it was going to be "shocking"? You can make a "big splash" without it being shocking. Von Miller, JC Jackson, Chandler Jones, Allen Robinson, Rob Gronkowski would all be big splashes.
  9. Stopped reading after this. So many of you live in a fantasy land that there are no consequences or penalties for doing so and you're just plain wrong.
  10. Thing that bugs me is that even if a coach didn't get word in to Bass, how did Bass not take it upon himself to check and somehow assumed that they wanted it kicked out of the endzone? Like as a Kicker, you'd think he'd stop and think "I probably should squib it or kick it short of the goal line to eat clock" or at the very least say "this is a big time situation with a number of options, what do you want me to do, coach?"
  11. Yeah, miss me with the Berrios and Andy Isabella obsessions. I don't get it.
  12. We're losing 4 of our 7 WR's from the 53 man roster last season. Whether it's a WR who is to be 2nd or 3rd in reps, a big time WR needs to be added in FA, Trade, or the Draft. And we'll still need at least a couple more to fill out the roster.
  13. Dude, no. Obada was a nice little story that people got excited about. But the hype was a lot of sizzle but no steak, outside of the one game against the Panthers. He slid inside a number of times in a reserve role and didn't provide a thing. Being our starting DT? C'mon. He's a Free Agent and we're not using cap space on a guy who's role can easily be replaced by a late round draft pick.
  14. I mean, if he wants to come for peanuts and be our replacement to Efe Obada - okay. But we need something strong opposite Rousseau. Signing Lawson, Re-signing Hughes or Addison (at this stage in their careers), Epenesa, or Basham is not the answer. But I'm okay with Lawson being part of the 3 man rotation with Epenesa and Basham outside of the Starting 2 though.
  15. Colts take a chance on Wentz and give him a bag. They IMMEDIATELY regret their decision. Washington be like "we'll take your bad decision on as our own!'.
  16. Extend Stefon Diggs and Tremaine Edmunds - lowering their cap figure this season. Release Cole Beasley, Jon Feliciano, AJ Klein (done), Matt Haack, and Vernon Butler. Paycut/Restructure Daryl Williams and Mitch Morse Restructure any recently signed players that are open to converting to bonus' or pushing out cap figures. Re-sign Harrison Phillips and Ike Boettger. Tender Ryan Bates and Justin Zimmer. Focus on getting a legitimate starting veteran DE opposite Rousseau via Trade or FA. Sign or trade for a WR. Draft a speed WR with a Day 2 or early Day 3 pick. Draft CB Round 1. Get another RB and TE to compliment Singletary and Knox via FA, Trade, or the Draft. Sign best veteran QB who doesn't get a starting gig. Draft Punt God in Round 5.
  17. He's not ancient. But he will be entering his 11th season in the NFL. I don't pretend to have followed him closely over the past season. But I can't imagine if his skills weren't eroding with age at 32 years old this year, they'd have released him. So I don't know that I'd be screaming for him to replace Edmunds completely. Bringing him in, okay. But is he an every down player we can trust for years to come at this point?
  18. And what of Gabe Davis? Are you comfortable keeping him as the 3rd highest in reps and surely receptions? You'll lose him when his rookie deal is up for someone who can give him more playing time and a team that will pay him, which we won't be able to do after paying Diggs and Metcalf.
  19. You know we're a million over the cap right now right? Better question, you know that the salary cap exists right?
  20. We woke up this morning 6 million over the cap. Releasing Klein puts us at just under a million over. Gonna need to do a lot of extensions, releases, restructures, and pay cuts before we can do anything. And like everyone else has pointed out, FA hasn't opened yet. There's been one big trade that has happened in the entire league. I mean, this is a joke post, right?
  21. This was one of the many no-brainer moves we could make to free up cap space. Others being extending Diggs, extending Edmunds, releasing or re-working deals on Beasley, Feliciano, Morse, D. Williams, and Butler. This is not a huge loss. You can easily replace what Klein brought us with a draft pick or a cheaper option. I wholeheartedly disagree. I think the players that we'll have going out aren't going to make us substantially worse off than we were last year. On the contrary, with good drafting and smart moves in the FA and Trade market - I can easily see us being better off.
  22. A more realistic scenario would be Tyler Lockett, who appears to be on the market. Just 3 Mil on the cap this season and nothing guaranteed beyond that (9.7 next year if they keep him). Seems like the kind of cap friendly, decent player move Beane would be interested in.
