  1. THE GOLDEN BOYS listening to TUNES? You mean like... Lawrence Welk I can just picture Eric bursting in all mad as hell demanding a trade or release and Marv, Ralph, and Dick kicking up their feet on the desk with their earphones on being like "A ONE... A TWO... A THREEEE...."
  2. With this new speedy WR corp... we will roll out Moulds, Evans, and Davis and we best run a lot of "Pray for Rain" or "Hot Crossed Buns" ... and stay away from stuff like "Orvules Right" and "Hilbur's Left" That's right, I'm taking it back to Joe Montana's football... cerca 1991, B-Lo Bills playbook.
  3. I wonder if it's Dog: The Bounty Hunter ?
  4. If the recall rule is true, we desparately need Sam back.
  5. Sam Adams would do well in any alignment, he's just one hell of a DT. It pissed me off when we lost Ted, it pissed me off when we lost Pat, and now it's just as irritating to lose Sam. It seems like such a simple formula that we keep pissing away everytime we get it right. You get 2 monsters in at DT and we establish a dominant defensive unit. Unless we get 2 really top notch DT's back in here via FA/draft, we can expect to get gashed in the run game yet again the way we did this past year and going back to '01-'02 when our defense was awful.
  6. The idea has merit, but NO WAY am I in favor of cutting Takeo loose, injury or not. He's one hell of a special talent and if anyone can come back bigger, faster, and stronger than before it's him. That aside... unlike most in his profession he really has shown loyalty toward us the fans and the city of Buffalo. He came from the Bengals right to a team that's gone 20-28... and during that time the Bengals actually turned it around. He's had every right to be bitter and disappointed that in the prime of his career he's toiling away on another losing team, but he hasn't. He genuinely seems as thrilled today to be a Bill as the day he signed. No way do we cut this guy loose... he's just a rare player that really lifts his whole team when he's out there.
  7. I want "Super" Mario Williams to be on our squad come '06!
  8. Should we get T-Buck? Also... sounds like Mawae is on the move, do we want him for our center? Maybe flank him with Bentley and Hutchinson at guards... wooooahhh nellie, half back dive here we come!
  9. Holy SHEETSKI! TD, Leslie Neilsen, Steve Martin, and this LB coach from the Seahawks should start a group called the TEFLON TOMS... TD would sing lead (natch!) but they could easily sub in and out and you'd never know the difference! They would sing 70's Disco remakes... I can see it now, TD out front with that arm in the air "NIGHT FEVER NIGHT FEVER!" or a little "DANCING QUEEN" action! I'd bust a gut I tell you... I'd bust a gut! Someone call Drew Rosenhaus to put this all together and work out the numbers, this must happen!
  10. The biggest thing that they have done in their short time is express a commitment to retaining veteran talent. I can say, had Donahoe stayed, I'm 90% certain both Moulds and Clements are gone next year. Well that's great... we clear precious cap space, and MAYBE if we're lucky bring in younger, less expensive players that can be reasonable fill ins. But, lets face it... that doesn't ever make us better. I think the era of mediocrity at best would've continued. As much as we all slammed Butler for his handling of the cap situation, we had very very good teams in comparison to what we had in the cap sensible Donahoe era. I don't care if we had to overpay for Pat Williams... I still want him here. Maybe the hardline "take it or leave it" approach to negotiating made the bottom line look better, but the product on the field sucked. With Moulds and Clements still in the fold next year, we can look to the draft to actually ADD talent and not replace what we lost yet again for letting players that we've developed walk away.
  11. Here's Uncle Joe and he's a' movin kinda slow at the JUNCTION....
  12. With Marv here, I wouldn't be at all surprised if we could land Hutch and Bentley. The era o' Donahoe is over. This is Marv's time, and we will get O-lineman up in this mix.
  13. You're right... if it happened to the Bills, we'd be mad as hell, and if it worked in our favor and we won a SB we'd be on cloud 9. The key thing here is, that, most of us weren't pulling heavily one way or the other in this game and thus can look at it objectively. I can say, going into the game, I just wanted to see a good game and didn't care which team took it. But, as the game went on, you could see Seattle getting absolutely shafted. The first TD called back, I could accept... I thought it was ticky tack, but the rule is the rule... OK. But, that holding call that brought it back from what would've been first and goal on the 2 yd. line or whatever, was completely a phantom call... no way to defend it. Then on Big Ben's TD run... I'm sorry, I don't think it was in, but it was obviously very close, and I could accept that, EXCEPT the linesman originally called it down short, then AFTER the play was blown dead and Ben lunged forward a bit after he was down, the linesman changes his mind and calls it a TD. What's with that? I'm inclined to believe he saw Ben lunge forward at the end, but he was already DOWN at that point, and to me it simply didn't look like the ball ever broke the plain before his knees touched. What's more frustrating is, on big game deciding plays, you could see the Steelers getting a handful of Seahawk jersey and clearly held on a few runs by Big Ben that sprung him to seal the deal. Which would've been ok... let em play I suppose, but they never afforded the Seahawks that luxury all game. I will say, the Stevens incompletion, I thought was a fumble, which worked in the Seahawks favor. However, most of the bad calls seemed to go heavily in the Seelers favor and I think may have impacted the outcome. I had no interest in either team, but I do have to say by game's end I had a lot of hostility toward this officiating crew. They were terrible.
  14. We used to play a version of cover 2 when TC was the d-coordinator here. NEON Keion Carpenter and Henry H-Bomb Jones played at safety... while Thomas Smith and the 'Toine Child played CB 2000 or so... we had a pretty stout D in those days.
  15. Going back to a 3-4 could be done. In fact, the draft may set up well for just that. Now, we'd need a Ted Washington type to play NT, but at the 8th spot there's a decent chance AJ Hawk might be there. If we're able to pick up a big plodding NT (I'd love to keep Sam, but being a 2 gap tackle doesn't seem to be his desire or forte), picking up Hawk would allow us to roll out a very talented group of LB's in Fletcher, Spikes, Hawk, and Crowell(?). Certainly more talent at the LB position than Ted had last time he was here.
  16. Also it looks like we locked up Bobby April as Special Teams/Asst. Head Coach, which should keep him here. GREAT MOVE!
  17. Never waxed me bungholio before... but YOWZA! sure sounds painful.
  18. Ok, let me weigh in on this... Nothing is sweeter than seeing Big Sam shoot the gap in perfect harmony with the snap! The QB hands the ball to the running back who is like "OH STEVESTOJAN!" as he gets plowed under by 350 lbs. of Sam Adams, the second he takes the hand off. THOSE are the plays that make differences in the game, and it's been a long long time since we've had a d-lineman with that capability.
  19. True dat... True dat. Takeo Spikes is one uniquely outstanding competitor.
  20. I don't really understand the virtue of hiring "Dinger." The Jets offense has been consistently mediocre to terrible for many years. The last time they had a high powered offense was when Parcells was there in '98. Since then they've ranked 15th-29th every year in points scored. We've had some anemic offenses in that span, but even our offenses has ranked higher over those years. I've heard Jets fans be very outspoken in their displeasure with Dinger's offense. Not that previous track record was a big factor in picking Jauron, obviously, but what would make anyone think this guy would be a good OC moving forward?
  21. Just to clear up a few things on the Bryce Fisher issue. He had 8.5 sacks with the Rams in '04, and signed with Seattle as a free agent last offseason and has led the Seahawks with 9 sacks in '05. He definitely has developed into a good player, and it definitely was a mistake to let him walk after his first campaign in '01. He had 3 sacks for us that year, after fulfilling his Air Force commitment and you could see he definitely had some ability, just needed some polishing, IMHO. But, he's a good guy and is now enjoying well deserved success... congrats to him.
  22. Let us not be hasty now... the book on Bentley is he can also tear it up at guard as well. There's always room on this team for L-Chaz Bentley
  23. That was the story when he came here, but that's not been the latest speculation around NFL circles that have suggested Wyche would, in fact, be able to take over the position if it were offered. Who knows what the situation really is, I, like everyone else just go by the media reports and rumors we get, but apparently his vocal situation isn't something that would hamper him from taking on the role as previously thought.
  24. I will say this... if, in fact, Wyche is retained and promoted to OC, I feel REALLY good about this hire. Say what you will about the staffs around the AFC East and how we'll get outcoached, etc. BUT, Sam Wyche is flat out one of the best offensive minds there is, PERIOD. And, if April is retained, I think we're superior at the staff positions of OC and ST to any team in the division. How much will that mean overall in the long run? Maybe not enough to be a difference, but I think that coaching staff, if it takes that shape, could hold its own.
  25. I agree, however, as has been stated many times before, look at Bill Belichik. He was 36-44 as the Browns head coach. He was regarded as a good defensive mind... kind of quiet... smart, etc. Truthfully he looked, at that point, much like Jauron does right now. You never really know, but the 2nd time around for guys from that mould could be a recipe for success.
