  1. I'm hoping Wyche stays on and is able to take over as OC, despite his vocal limitations. In the midst of all the names being batted about for OC right now, I don't think you can get a better offensive mind than Sam Wyche.
  2. Sherman as head coach... Wyche as offensive coordinator... Capers as defensive coordinator, is that possible? On paper it looks like a very very good staff.
  3. This part does ring true... back when Sherman was GM/HC, the Packers did have back to back 12-4 seasons. That would certainly be nice to see here again.
  4. If you could take Aaron Schobel and clone him 52 times over... that's the character we're shooting for on the Marv Levy led Bills of the 21st century.
  5. It's that ZONE BLOCKING man... zone blocking! Why can't we get some of that here in B'LO?
  6. What say we field a line that reads (from center to left): Bentley, Hutchinson, D'BRICHSHAW FERGUSON WOOOOAHHHH NELLY! Lets get er done!
  7. I recall 2 years ago during the search that netted Mularkey, Poojer posted that Jimmah could never coexist in Buffalo with the "big hair Buffalo women" ... I will echo the same response that I had to that post so many months past: GIVE US A COACH WITH HAAAAIRRRRR... LONG BEAUTIFUL HAAAAIIIRRRR... and give him a can of spray to tame that HAAAAAIRRRRR!!!
  8. They're supposedly in "closed door" meetings right now... but to me this has the markings of Marv back on the sidelines all over it.
  9. Guess who's back, back again! MARV is back, tell a friend! OC: Sam Wyche DC: Ted Cottrell Lets go BACK TO THE FUTURE my friends!
  10. Everyone tries to make these arguments that taking a QB high in the draft will eliminate you from winning the SB, but it makes no sense. That may be the recent trend, but the bottom line is you have to acquire as many good players as possible. If that includes taking a QB 1st overall, or taking a DE/DT/OT etc. first and getting a QB later, so be it. But I'm never going to buy into the "odds" of winning a SB is based on where you draft your QB. In our case, drafting a QB (be it Young, Leinart, or whoever) early in this draft would be assinine in my opinion. JP has shown flashes of greatness that can hopefully be built on, and we desparately need to improve in the trenches.
  11. I have a hunch that Mike Williams can still end up playing at a high level. And frankly we have the leverage. Because he has been a "bust" to this point, the pressure is on him to take a restructure as opposed to being cut outright. We'd get him at a more reasonable price, and with Ferguson on the opposite side I think they may in time develop into a dominant set of book ends.
  12. Are you sure this is wise? I stand 6'5" and weigh in around 305 lbs... and I'm only a fan! Perhaps I could throw a block or two!
  13. Holy SHIZNIT! If we got Levy (in some capacity) AND Polian back, I would be, dare I say "overwhelmed with joy..." The strange thing is... I get the feeling that everyone who has worked here and moved on to have success other places would still welcome the opportunity to come back to Buffalo (ie Dwight Adams). I highly doubt Polian would leave Indy, but I'd dance a jig if it happened.
  14. Clearly a site with subtantial credibility.... But in all honesty, if it's true Donahoe is going to be let go, there is no way we can know the future of Mularkey at this point without a GM in place.
  15. I'm not in favor of moving Modrak to GM, but the logic about passing on Ricky Williams for McNabb makes no sense to me. 20-20 hindsight proves that he made the right decision. That's like saying, had Donahoe passed on Williams to draft OT Levi Jones, who is becoming a real stud, that would've been a bad move and Donahoe was a bad GM because of it. I mean... isn't the essence of being a good GM going against the grain of popular belief and stealing the true talent out of drafts that is passed on?
  16. Personally, I like JP and the way he played this year. I think the only problem was he didn't play ENOUGH. I mean, realistically all you can expect out of a young QB making his first series of starts in this league is to make some good plays. The bad plays are almost a given with a young QB... we can't expect him to consistently light up a defense like a 10 year all pro or something. What we can hang our hat on is he had his days this year where he played at that level. With experience you hope that develops into consistency and being able to play that way week in and week out. We probably won't know for sure how he'll fully develop for at least another year to 2 years. But what I do hang my hat on is him scrambling around and making plays that few QB's in this league can and the way he feathered that pass to the back of the endzone to Lee Evans... it was sheer perfection. Those things showed me he's CAPABLE of greatness... and right now that's all we can ask for. Lets hope he gets there.
  17. Methinks the band is getting back together... and I think we're going to enter a real rennaissance. We really took 10-6/11-5 for granted. It wasn't acceptable to lose in the first rd. of the playoffs every year, but that braintrust clearly had a much better handle on what was going on than this group ever had.
  18. Not a chance. Our special teams are flat out awesome, April isn't going anywhere.
  19. Oh man. If we could get D'Brickshaw Ferguson and a couple of veteran guards via free agency, we might be DECENT. That could be decent... don't you think?
  20. If this continues it may be the President's Trophy you smell... we are hanging real tough with Ottawa right now.
  21. D'BRICKSHAW FERGUSON! MAIN MAN!... HOME TEAM... ALRIGHT!
  22. Picture this... Opening Day: 2006 THE RALPH is packed per usual, you can feel the electricity in the air after a long football hiatus. Marv gathers the troops on the sideline and you hear "WHERE ELSE WOULD YOU RATHER BE THAN RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW???!!!!" And on the jumbotron they show a montage of great moments in Bills history... all the players... all the wins... AFL CHampions... THE COMEBACK... Lofton galloping to the endzone, Bruce bursting 'round the edge to sack 'Dan the man' ... Jimbo dropping back and slinging it. It'll certainly be a fun and exciting time to be a Bills fan.
  23. Next verse... same as the first! I also saw George Seifert at the airport last night, he was wearing a Bills "hoodie"...
  24. I'll buy that... like I said I love Lee Evans and think he is becoming a hell of a player. But, Moulds is a rare talent. His numbers haven't always shown it, but having had the privelage of watching him over the last 10 years, leads me to believe that Evans could turn out to be a very good WR and never come close to the threat that Moulds poses. Moulds has a rare combination of speed, size, strength, aggressiveness and just plays "nasty" for lack of a better word. As much as the comparisons have been drawn to Harrison's situation, I'll point it out again... had Moulds been drafted by Indy, the Good Lord only knows the kind of numbers he would've put up.
  25. I have to say, as much as I didn't like Gregg Williams as our coach, I felt bad for him when he left. I felt he truly gave it his best shot but was just overmatched in his first shot at being a HC. But Mularkey at this point, I can say, I'll have no feelings for whatsoever and I want him gone as much as the next guy. Maybe he's on some idealistic mission to promote lockerroom equity, but the bottom line is alienating our best pro bowl level type players will only lead to agonizing defeats like Sunday. And there is not one single shred of evidence or rumor of anything that has leaked about Adams or Moulds at this point that sounds like anything other than they want to play and help this team win. And why in the hell should they be taken out? They're far and away the best players we have at their respective positions. This absolutely makes no sense.
