  1. Here's one for you Chef... As you can see from my location, I'm a city guy as well.
  2. Yes, its a bit cheesy, but it has always worked... BARRY WHITE...All time greatest hits... http://www.google.com/musicl?lid=Yja2A13e0...aid=3XCZ3C0tuyB
  3. Getting through....???? Tell that to the one on your list who McGahees his knee next year, costing himself millions of guaranteed dollars, all while the school earns an a$$load of money off this kid via performance on the field, jersey sales and BCS bowl appearances due to play of 1st round picks. These kids should get the $$ while they can, any agent who is not advising a potential client of that (especially in football) is grossly negligent.
  4. It was a "double bird strike," per this report... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/plane_in_river
  5. I think rumor...right now the rumor is it was a flock of geese.
  6. Not high tide. That pilot deserves a ticker-tape parade. He takes off, loses power in both engines due to birds, gains control over this commercial jet with little or no power over the largest city in the country, then proceeds to make a water landing, bringing it in with no break-up and save everyone's life. WOW! We got ourselves a hero.
  7. And 100 mg of Viagra.
  8. I'm downtown...watching four helicopters hover over the base of the Hudson, every boat took off up the Hudson while I was having lunch. Wondered what happened.
  9. And given that NYC relies on ferries and that there is a minimum of at least 15 in the Hudson at any one time, helluva great decision to land tehre and get the passengers to safety immediately.
  10. A slideshow of photos... http://news.yahoo.com/nphotos/Hudson-River.../plane_in_river
  11. Agreed, at least on Wall Street. Good article, thanks for linking.
  12. I would be very leery right now for many reasons... 1- Never, ever mix business with friendship, it will end badly 95% of the time. This is really not a good idea. 2- Bad climate. Residential roofing will be put off except in the most dire circumstances. Nobody is spending for big ticket items right now unless they absolutely must. This WILL NOT change in 2009. In fact, 2009 WILL get much, much worse than 2008 ever got. 3- Life situation. No offense Gordio, but your life isn't set up for this right now. You have a 4 year old and one on the way (I have a 3 year old and one due in March). If you were single, maybe I could see it. Right now you have to be the provider, not the risk-taker. You work for a bank, good job etc. Even if you were laid off, you would most likely get severance and unemployment. If you quit, you get neither. Think about that. 4- Let the bank job ride. Play it out. If you get laid off, get your severance and unemployment and take a shot...well, not the best idea, but at least you'd have a bit of a cushion. Quitting and going for nothing....really bad idea. Think you got stress now? 5- Don't stress what you can't control. Worry about your specific job, reduce your debts and expenses and put yourself in the best position should something happen. Other than that, don't worry about what you can't control.
  13. For $4 mil she'd better
  14. Good for her... as PT Barnum said....
  15. Pardon the pun, but screw that. Let convert RICK to a bank-holding company as we certainly are a company with systematic importance to the municipalities in which we operate due to tax revenues those municipalities derive from our activities and the jobs we create. We can access TARP funds under the Capital Purchase Program, providing Treasury with nice 10% preferred dividend. We can use the TARP funds to acquire other adult establishments, thereby providing other municipalities with the benefit of our management experience in running a publicly traded busienss focused on adult entertainment. If we put a Rick's in each municipality, we may be able to make enough revenue to offset some of the municipality losses due to the financial crisis. Also, think of the jobs we can create...many in the retail sector may be looking for work soon. We also don't believe we will be that affected by the financial crisis...$15 and BYOB is not too steep even for an out-of-work stockbroker. What do you think?
  16. Rick Reilly says Utah is the National CHamps. Has some pretty good arguments as well, I agree with him completely. http://sports.espn.go.com/espnmag/story?id=3815656
  17. I can only imagine. for outkicking your coverage.
  18. I'd love to take this guy next year in the mid-rounds. He is a solid all-around player.
  19. Or the biggest Ponzi scheme....
  20. Got yourself a keeper there!! I concur with your previous statement
  21. I'm just speculating that she is probably built like an apple. At least with 275 lb NFL players, you are, most likely, talking at least 6'2"-6'3".
  22. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,479782,00.html “I thought, I know I’m big, but I’m not as big as an elephant. And my husband got mad.” “They should have machines that fit most everybody,” she said. Perhaps its time she started to consider salads...
  23. Lets not push that "in good shape" concept too far. We were coming off the greatest asset bubble in US history in 2001. Of course, we remedied that by creating two of the greatest asset bubbles in world history...but hey, we don't need no stinking recession...
  24. Tell them you will be reporting them to your state's Attorney General and filing a claim for reimbursement of the warranty charges... http://www.minyanville.com/articles/DELL-c...n/index/a/20639
  25. No complaints on my Jeep Wrangler, I love it.
