  1. We could have an in-his-prime Elway back there and it would make no difference with our line. Lets fix the lines, if JP doesn't develop we'll go QB in 07.
  2. LT & C, but I think LG (Bennie Anderson) not RG, if Villy is healthy he can do the job adequately. Re-sign Nate Clements. DT, Ted Washington or Grady Jackson should be brought in along with drafting Ngata and we'd be fine. Problem is we need someone to coach them on D, which we don't yet have. Thats a lot of work to be done, BTW.
  3. We're not close till this team improves the OL and gets a DT. Till that happens we're only a bit better than last year, and thats because of addition by subtraction (TD, MM etc.).
  4. I agree with Ted over anyone.
  5. Not some clown who was canned by Baltimore...get TC in here and lets be done with it.
  6. Too bad there no 78 out there, or 67 or young OL named Wolford.
  7. Awful. I'd rather see Gray.
  8. What do you think eball, save the runoff election for next week?
  9. If we beat Atlanta that would finish our longerst roadie this year at 4-2...pretty damn good. I just hope we can avoid Ottawa in the playoffs for a while. That team is the best in hockey, when healthy, and I think it just may be their year. Still, I love the progress our guys have made. Our team is still so young and I think we're going to be very good for a very long time.
  10. Yep. Add Yankees, Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, Celtics, Lakers, Packers, Raiders to that list as well.
  11. I agree completely. You will see progress. Hell, I thought there was a lot of progress in JP's game from the first 4 games to the second 4 games he started. He looked like a totally different QB. But you won't really know till after 07.
  12. Actually, I would think Bates would want to come to Buffalo. Jauron's rep is that he lets his coaches coach, there IS a lot of talent on the Bills D, especially if Mt. Washington or Grady and Ngata are brought in, and Bates wants to be a HC. What better way to raise your profile than to take a D that crashed and burned and make a third team's D (after Miami and GB) ranked in the top 10 for a year or two. I'd be willing to bet its a cozy situation for a coordinator who wanted a higher profile to launch to a HC job.
  13. At the end of 06, assuming JP makes every start, he will have played 24 NFL games. Even then, I don't think you can make a definitive opinion on JP. I think in 07 you will learn what you have with JP. QBs take time and you will see progress, but you won't be able to fully judge JP until after 07. Look at some of the guys from non-major college programs (or ones that didn't have a pro offense like USC) who have taken a couple years to develop...Hasselback, Favre, Pennington (pre-surgeries), McNair, Trent Green, Plummer, Leftwich and Bulger. Everyone is looking for the next Marino, Big Ben or Palmer. There is a reason these guys are so rare, because it rarely happens that way. More likely is that in 2 years, with steady playing time, we'll know what JP is all about as a QB, and whether he can get the job done.
  14. Great friggin movie, it was just on about a month ago on TBS or TNT.
  15. You know, its funny....the Democrats have become the party of the disenfranchised...liberals, urbanites, minorities...sure we'll take them all say the Dems. The result is that the Democratic party is completely dysfunctional and without a platform. The Dems have not proposed a meaningful solution to a problem since 1994 (welfare reform). Even the Republicans had the Contract with America that helped them win control of Congress. The Dems have relied solely on bashing the Republicans. Bush proposes Social Security reform, the Dems say his plan is awful. They never propose one of their own. The Dems won't go anywhere until they develop a platform.
  16. I'm excited over Bates. C'mon Bates accept the offer!!
  17. Knee-jerky...no, actually I was one of the few defending the DJ hire and the Marv return. The thing is, I think the way to win with our young offense players is to ride McGahee. We saw what happened when Mularkey tried to pass his way to wins. I just wish we had a guy from a team that was committed to running the ball, like either SB participant.
  18. Actually, most of the Rams games, they were within 10 points on their 1st possession of the 2nd half. Perfect time to run the ball, keep the pressure off your young QB, set up play action and keep your sh------- defense off the field.
  19. I'm in the process of looking over the play-by-plays on the Rams games in the second half. It really looks like this guy is more pass than run, no matter what. And most of the Rams 2nd half games were NOT blowouts. They were within a score or two, perfect situation to protect your untested QB AND keep your sh------- defense off the field.
  20. LA, Fairchild called the plays when Martz was out. Thus, last years Rams team offense was all on him. The playcalling was on him. So, he can be blamed for averaging 35 passing attempts per game with Martin/Fitzgerald as QBs.
  21. If Jamie Martin and Ryan Fotzpatrick are your QBs, you need to run Faulk and Jackson. Rely on the strength, not the weakness. Thats been our problem...oh the last 5 friggin years on offense and I'm really sick of watching it.
  22. He averaged 35 passes per game with Ryan Fitzpatrick and Jamie Martin as QBs!!! To me, if Ryan Fitzpatrick is your friggin QB, you give the ball to Steven Jackson & Faulk 35 times a game!! Killdrive part 2????? FCCCCCUKKKKK!!!
  23. Oh no, I was hoping for a guy who'd run the friggin ball 30 + times a game. Now we're going to have someone who learned at the Mike Martz school of boneheaded coaching decisions??? He averaged 35 passes per game with Ryan Fitzpatrick as QB!!! To me, if RYan Fitzpatrick is your friggin QB, you give the ball to Steven Jackson 35 times a game!! Dammmmnnnnnn!!!!
  24. Fairchild was the RB coach under Greggo in 01 and 02. Would really be useless.
