  1. I agree completely. You will see progress. Hell, I thought there was a lot of progress in JP's game from the first 4 games to the second 4 games he started. He looked like a totally different QB. But you won't really know till after 07.
  2. Actually, I would think Bates would want to come to Buffalo. Jauron's rep is that he lets his coaches coach, there IS a lot of talent on the Bills D, especially if Mt. Washington or Grady and Ngata are brought in, and Bates wants to be a HC. What better way to raise your profile than to take a D that crashed and burned and make a third team's D (after Miami and GB) ranked in the top 10 for a year or two. I'd be willing to bet its a cozy situation for a coordinator who wanted a higher profile to launch to a HC job.
  3. At the end of 06, assuming JP makes every start, he will have played 24 NFL games. Even then, I don't think you can make a definitive opinion on JP. I think in 07 you will learn what you have with JP. QBs take time and you will see progress, but you won't be able to fully judge JP until after 07. Look at some of the guys from non-major college programs (or ones that didn't have a pro offense like USC) who have taken a couple years to develop...Hasselback, Favre, Pennington (pre-surgeries), McNair, Trent Green, Plummer, Leftwich and Bulger. Everyone is looking for the next Marino, Big Ben or Palmer. There is a reason these guys are so rare, because it rarely happens that way. More likely is that in 2 years, with steady playing time, we'll know what JP is all about as a QB, and whether he can get the job done.
  4. Great friggin movie, it was just on about a month ago on TBS or TNT.
  5. You know, its funny....the Democrats have become the party of the disenfranchised...liberals, urbanites, minorities...sure we'll take them all say the Dems. The result is that the Democratic party is completely dysfunctional and without a platform. The Dems have not proposed a meaningful solution to a problem since 1994 (welfare reform). Even the Republicans had the Contract with America that helped them win control of Congress. The Dems have relied solely on bashing the Republicans. Bush proposes Social Security reform, the Dems say his plan is awful. They never propose one of their own. The Dems won't go anywhere until they develop a platform.
  6. I'm excited over Bates. C'mon Bates accept the offer!!
  7. Knee-jerky...no, actually I was one of the few defending the DJ hire and the Marv return. The thing is, I think the way to win with our young offense players is to ride McGahee. We saw what happened when Mularkey tried to pass his way to wins. I just wish we had a guy from a team that was committed to running the ball, like either SB participant.
  8. Actually, most of the Rams games, they were within 10 points on their 1st possession of the 2nd half. Perfect time to run the ball, keep the pressure off your young QB, set up play action and keep your sh------- defense off the field.
  9. I'm in the process of looking over the play-by-plays on the Rams games in the second half. It really looks like this guy is more pass than run, no matter what. And most of the Rams 2nd half games were NOT blowouts. They were within a score or two, perfect situation to protect your untested QB AND keep your sh------- defense off the field.
  10. LA, Fairchild called the plays when Martz was out. Thus, last years Rams team offense was all on him. The playcalling was on him. So, he can be blamed for averaging 35 passing attempts per game with Martin/Fitzgerald as QBs.
  11. If Jamie Martin and Ryan Fotzpatrick are your QBs, you need to run Faulk and Jackson. Rely on the strength, not the weakness. Thats been our problem...oh the last 5 friggin years on offense and I'm really sick of watching it.
  12. He averaged 35 passes per game with Ryan Fitzpatrick and Jamie Martin as QBs!!! To me, if Ryan Fitzpatrick is your friggin QB, you give the ball to Steven Jackson & Faulk 35 times a game!! Killdrive part 2????? FCCCCCUKKKKK!!!
  13. Oh no, I was hoping for a guy who'd run the friggin ball 30 + times a game. Now we're going to have someone who learned at the Mike Martz school of boneheaded coaching decisions??? He averaged 35 passes per game with Ryan Fitzpatrick as QB!!! To me, if RYan Fitzpatrick is your friggin QB, you give the ball to Steven Jackson 35 times a game!! Dammmmnnnnnn!!!!
  14. Fairchild was the RB coach under Greggo in 01 and 02. Would really be useless.
  15. I like Dinger best, but he's going to Denver. Arians is a name I didn't think of and he might be an excellent choice. Caldwell, I would support wholeheartedly. Thing is, given the Jauron focus on D, we need an OC who has some experience doing the job because he'd be on his own. We need a Dan Henning type, not a guy who has just been elevated from QB/WR/RB coach and is looking to prove how smart he is to become a HC in 2-3 years. I really think that is a recipe for disaster. This is why I think Palmer or even Joe Pendry wouldn't be bad choices. I'd be MUCH more concerned with a guy like Fairchild or some other 30something with something to prove on his way to becoming a HC (think Mularkey in Pitt).
  16. They can have him. He was Greggos RB coach in 01 and 02. Do you guys remember our RBs doing anything of note in 01? Henry was decent in 02, but c'mon. I'd like to see EXPERIENCE.
  17. And Oakland is very much over the cap and will need to make some cuts. Having a player such as Big Ted publicly say he wants to play for another team and coach, is one way to ensure he is one of the cuts.
  18. Thats AWESOME. Can you imagine Big Ted next to Sam??? Forget about running the ball up the middle. WOW!! C'mon Marv, get er done!!
  19. Alright you POS, now you pissed me off. As someone who worked across the street from the WTC on 9/11 (and still does), the ONLY reason the towers fell was due to an act of depraved murder and violence so horrific that it sickens the soul. You say innocent people are dying...you're right. There were over 3000 innocent people in those towers and on those planes, some of whom were very good friends of mine. What did they do? They went to work, school, or boarded an aircraft that day. Folks such as USMCBills fan are fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan and soon to be Iran, to ensure that nothing as sick and depraved ever happens to innocent Americans again. I salute and commend all of our Armed Forces men and women for protecting innocent Americans from ever having to experience what I saw and lived through on 9/11. You use words such as "unjust" and "dead bodies strewn on streets without a care" and think you have a clue. I'll tell you about dead bodies "strewn on streets without a care" but the names of the streets are Liberty Street, Church Street, Broadway and Maiden Lane...all streets here in lower Manhattan. "Unjust"...you have no idea what that word means...its "unjust" for a single mother working as a receptionist at Cantor to decide if she has to jump 107 floors to her death or face the flames...knowing that her daughter is inside the WTC Day Care Center and not being able to know if her child is alive...that is the very definition of "unjust." You want to continue????
  20. Seattle has the cap room to sign both Hutch and Alexander. So we won't get Hutch. Backus, I love. He should our LT next year. I would love a run at Bentley. Perhaps... LT - Backus LG - 2nd Round Draft Pick C - Bentley RG - Villarial RT - Peters MW gets cut and we save the 5mil and give it to Bentley.
  21. Donnie Henderson would really be a nice hire. I'd be very glad to have him running the D. The offense on the other hand....
  22. Good. I just hope we don't end up with Steve "I was #4 on Greggo's list" Fairchild.
  23. If you see year-to-year progress, sure. A cowher coached team has never gotten out of hand the way Mularkey's team did this year.
