  1. Nicolino is the loss IMHO, but it is not even a big one. d'Arnaud, Gose, Syndergaard, Aaron Sanchez, Roberto Osuna, Danny Norris...all staying in Toronto. Hechhavarria is all glove, no bat (think Rey Ordonez bad with the bat). Marisnick is raw and overrated. DeSclafani is already 23 and striking out 6 batter per nine in the low minors. I mean...to not even get an everyday piece like d'Arnaud to build around is shameful for FLA (but the whole thing is shameful for FLA). As for Escobar...he has been drummed out of two organizations for his bad attitude (ATL and TOR) and FLA says they may flip him. He is a marginal player at best.
  2. You could almost justify it from the Marlins perspective if they got TOR's best prospects. But the prospects are only middling prospects. TOR's best were not included.
  3. Yankees. Growing up in B-lo, the Yankees were always on TV, so I became a fan. Went to see the Yankees at Cle and at Tor. Was a fan starting in the early 80s...1996 was pretty sweet...first team I rooted for with a title that I saw....still waiting on Bills and Sabres.
  4. One word....PLEASE! Give up a 2nd or 3rd rounder no questions asked. Our O would be lethal as long as Fitz can deliver the ball.
  5. And now we know who she is... http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/rod_ballgirl_red_hot_bod_xCukvkWEtKsGdycIMse1PM And yes, yes I would! Of course, if Arod got her in the sack, you know he'd have to call Ibanez in to finish the job!
  6. Exactly. I was at the Ibanez 2 HR game...thats as loud as that stadium can get, and its not that loud. Contrast that with the Tino Martinez game of the 2001 WS...never heard any place louder, any sporting event, period. The building was literally shaking from the noise and emotion...thats why you go to the game! They blew it with the new stadium...both on atmosphere and price. Edit: What the stadium is supposed to sound like... http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=2946720
  7. More than that tho...thew stadium's acoustics suck. Its not the same experience. The old stadium shook during LCS and WS games and it amplified sound. It was awesome. New stadium...not so much. And the prices are awful. I used to hit a dozen games a year...take the 4 train up and pick up scalped seats. Sat all over the old stadium, even behind the plate once. New stadium is too damn expensive to do that. Only hit a couple games a year. I miss the old stadium.
  8. Not just Lingerie Football League...but Lingerie Football League in Canada! Thought Canadians were supposed to be more polite...LOL! Damn....NHL....settle this lockout!
  9. Cards have great D and limited offense. We are just limited. But, since football usually comes down to who wants it more, my thought is we jump up and steal one with a GW FG. Bills 16 Cards 14
  10. If the QBs are gone by the time we pick in Round 1, do any of the LBs compare to a guy like Patrick Willis when he was coming out of college?
  11. If you consider the NYG defensive line the standard in pro football (and I do), they have not yet really kicked it into gear per the NY Post (link below). Now, of course, the NYG d-line has accomplished much more, but maybe we need just a bit more patience with this team. http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/giants/bad_in_sack_KNvDnCaZLOoj2WkzMXfsOK You see it all the time in baseball...there is an adjustment period for high-profile, big ticket free agents, maybe same is true in football? Look at Albert Pujols' first 7 weeks this year...not so good. I just cannot believe that this line and team is truly this bad.
  12. Yep...think he been viewing the All-22? Thanks for posting, that was a great little read.
  13. If Modell is ever voted in the HOF, the induction ceremony itself would be a debacle. Think the league wants to hear booing drown out the entire speech? Modell is not HOF worthy cause of what he did to Cleveland. End of story. Whatever else he did for the league will never be fully appreciated because it is viewed through the Cleveland lens.
  14. Thank you for posting this, I had forgotten about it. Truly classic response from RW!
  15. I wish you the best Brian. I recall fondly watching games at McFaddens when your fakes would inspire chants of MVP! MVP! MVP! across the bar. I get the move, but I'm not thrilled because Brian Moorman was one of the few bright spots for us for a lot of years.
  16. Totally disagree with the bolded part. Check out the SI story linked below. Barkley really seems to have his head screwed on right. After reading this piece, I'm rooting for him and I would not have a problem if he was the future of the Buffalo Bills! http://sportsillustr...04838/index.htm
  17. Same here. Any ribbing was good natured...nothing violent or disrespectful. Had a pick up football game in the lot with some Jets fans and some Bills fans before the game. No problems at all. I was wearing a Bills jersey...no issues.
  18. Interesting read on the good and bad of Modell. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl--no-middle-ground-when-discussing-former-browns-and-ravens-owner-art-modell.html
  19. Gotta maintain my reputation, that I did not make this up!!!
  20. Modell was sued and settled the suit by leaving the team's colors & history behind. And, if I recall, the Indians & Cavs got new buildings, Modell was told your time is coming. He did not want to wait his turn.
  21. http://tinypic.com/r/10x54dc/6 I scanned the page & uploaded the image. See for yourself.
  22. Sorry I cannot link it (can't find it online), but it was in today's NY Post. Urbik is questionable. Smith & Johnson are doubtful.
