  1. Beats me - I don't think I've watched more that 2 or 3 KC games in the past few years, so I don't know if he made big plays for them. The KC club hasn't struck me as a defensive force for a while. A hundred tackles+ per season is common for all starting LBs. If they view him more as a pass-rushing LB...that's something that is needed.
  2. Eh. Pedestrian LB stats after 4 seasons who at age 28 and season #5 made a flash in a couple of games behind a decent DL. Who heard of the guy before last season's playoffs?
  3. I seldom agonize over the problems that millionaires may have.
  4. Almost every NFL game is sold out. Peters' snit isn't going to change that.
  5. ...then he was traded to SEA in 1976, they traded him to MIN in 1977, where he garnered 5 All-Pros, 4 Pro Bowls, and a 1979 Pro Bowl MVP. Holy Haven Moses and Daryl Lamonica, Batman!
  6. Whatever game ended the 0 for 20 losing streak against MIA in the '70's?
  7. Hello Tenny. Speaking of damage, how's the coming crop shaping up?
  8. JP 90 yd. strike to Ginn!!!! Whitner badly beat!!!!
  9. Evidence suggests that children and football players both like to cry "No fair!!!! You gave him more!!!! ...sniff...sniff... ".
  10. I change out my battery and also my wife's roughly every 2 years. 2 x $70 / 720 days = 19 cents per day. Getting stranded, perhaps at night, perhaps in a bad area, the cost of a tow...I pay the $0.19 per day instead. It's not a bad idea to carry the few tool needed to loosen/tighten clamps and to remove the battery hold-down bolt. One of those emergency start batteries are a good idea, too - take it out and top off the charge monthly. Re cleaning: I avoid using a cleaning solution where the clamp is affixed to the cable. It gets in the cable windings. I use one of those inexpensive male/female wire brush things instead of cleaners. For general info - they sell a device that plugs into the ciggie lighter socket that provides juice to keep electrical settings of the vehicle and radio during battery change-out and terminal cleaning.
  11. Hmm... Bengals notebook Whitworth gets 4-year, $30 million extension By Mark Curnutte, Cincinnati Enquirer 07/28/08 "...On Sunday, Andrew Whitworth - who has started 28 of 32 games in his first two NFL seasons - signed a four-year contract extension through the 2013 season. "They made a statement that they wanted me to be here. And I said I wanted to be here for a longer period of time to help us win," said Whitworth, whose (2nd round - '06) rookie deal ran through 2009. The extension is good for $30 million in new money, similar to the contract extension signed by fellow third-year pro Domata Peko, a defensive tackle, in June. Whitworth has made 13 of his NFL starts at left tackle. Whitworth played 1,041 of the offense's 1,047 snaps last season, second-most on the team behind quarterback Carson Palmer."... http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/a.../807280378/1066
  12. Sept. 11 (no kidding), 1960. First-ever AFL Bills game...a 3 - 27 loss to the NY Titans.
  13. I 'm not sure you can blame it on them. 5 years is a very long time for a battery to last, especially one that seemingly you didn't pay much attention to.
  14. 1st thought...for many decades, rear wheel drive, snow tires and tire chains somehow got us through... 2nd thought...Pontius Pilate... I was aware of cautions about Subarus with automatics and rear limited-slip. I've no idea about your Pacifica. If you think tire shaving is a moneymaker, wait until the 2008's start needing tires. Starting with MY2008, the Feds have mandated that signal transmitters be inserted inside the rim to monitor tire pressure. They require special care when tires are mounted/dismounted - an expense to be passed along. They are approximately 50 bucks each, and will in time fail and get damaged. And add 200 bucks cost or so to those that have an extra set of rims/tires for summer or winter usage. It's my understanding that the disabling of the low-pressure warning circuits is difficult. I've heard anecdotes that disabling can also disable anti-lock brakes. Yikes. The sad thing is, is that ABS can detect low tire pressure somewhere (but not one specific tire). ABS notes differences in tire rotation speed...under-inflated tires slip more. Previous pressure monitoring systems took advantage of that. Had the mandate been ABS across the board, lower-prices models and some mid-price models would gain ABS - which is a nice thing.
  15. Why? Some sports fans are quick to decry real or perceived unfairness, then turn around and stuff ballot boxes for Pro Bowl berths, Players of the Week and so on. My guess is that teams take into account, that these things are to some extent, a popularity contest.
  16. Shaving seems the way to go... http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/tec...e.jsp?techid=18
  17. The battery cable or cables could have been about to fail, and the removal of them to clean might have done it. The positive cable where connected to the starter motor can also get gunked up. I've had to replace cables now and then through the years. I've also replaced the clamps that atttach to the battery - they sell replacements for those for a few bucks - useful, if there's enough play in the cable to clip off the old clamp and affix the new one with out putting tension on it.
  18. I read in my local paper, that the agents are demanding a 20% increase over last season's first round signings. More $$$ for unproven players...
  19. Very nice. Your kids will be rolling on the floor laughing when they get to look at the album. That's the chief purpose of any wedding pictures other than a portrait of the couple - comedy for the future generations.
