  1. I suggest that the vast majority of the media refused to do due diligence before the election about a particular candidate, and report. Journalism schooling has coursework on ethics - like medicine and law. Those are the only fields of study that have that or evidently need that, AFAIK. Makes one think, eh? Another betrayal by the press. That's very sad. And ominous for the future.
  2. This site must be chomping at the proverbial bit, and chugging along to put up their Obama section... http://politicalhumor.about.com/od/billcli...inton_Jokes.htm

  4. I would prefer to parse Tolstoy's War and Peace than to figure out if deferring or not is best.
  5. Perhaps. But the top ten command the really big dollars, it seems. Just speculation, but I think there are teams that would rather draft past the #10 spot for that reason.

  7. My condolences to your wife's and your family. My Mother died several years ago, with small, uncomplicated assets - no real estate, little cash, and no will. One of my sisters was named executrix (by a court? I don't know). The property such as it was was given to some of her local grandchildren. Her vehicle - an older Mercury Topaz with no outstanding note, was released to my brother - we siblings signed some sort of N.Y.S. "quit claim" form for, IIRC, vehicles worth less than 10K. That gave him legal title to the car, which he gave to his son.
  8. My doctors refer to me as their "ATM".
  9. I had one come up on my left wrist in June of 2004. It swelled up in a matter of days. It persisted until this past summer. It would cause pain from time to time, but it wasn't chronic pain. Do NOT smack it. Because it may be just a cyst...or it may be a radial aneurysm of the wrist, or something else. The physician that looked at mine sent me for an ultrasound test to see if it was an aneurysm. It wasn't - if it was it would have to have been surgically repaired. http://www.emedicine.com/orthoped/TOPIC494.HTM
  10. That surprised me, too. HI with their home-grown refs usually give a visitor a sure-fire hose job.

Recap: MIA@BUF@TOR "With a boulder on my shoulder feelin' kinda older I tripped the merry-go-round With this very unpleasing sneezing and wheezing the calliope crashed to the ground The calliope crashed to the ground."
  15. I'm not flipping through 50 pages. Did Anne Francis (TheForbidden Planet, 1956) make their list?
  16. Happy B'Day, Gents!
  17. For better or for worse, reporters have to maintain a working relationship with the sports clubs they write about.
