  1. Contact Ball State. I understand they can do anything.
  2. No firing. Lewis started out ok. The club is again in the midst of an injury run - 16 on IR, 5 waived off of IR. 7 starters on IR, plus only 2 games by QB Palmer so far. Most of their top 3 picks for 3 years out for good on injury or poor lifestyle choices. Brown goes for what he thinks is a talent bargain, and doesn't see why other teams passed on that bargain. Brown has only 1 full-time scout. Brown is owner, president and GM - the management staff is his relatives and friends. That's today's socialist NFL. I chuckle when folks feel that non-attendance will change the mind of one of the Gang of 32. Kinda like MLB - the PGH Pirates are an example...the revenue sharing insures that actually trying to win is optional. Sports clubs don't operate as normal businesses have to. In a normal business situation...often free (taxpayer provided) place of business, no need to actually offer a good product. Lewis is no better than fair. Very smarmy, condescending press conferences. He's poor on gameday decisions. Nowadays he's part of the "Brown Collective", so to speak. He gets 3M per year, and he isn't leaving until 2010. Brown certainly won't eat a contract. OTHO, there is something to be said for a coach not giving a sh*t. The NFL is loaded with players that don't care about the game - it's all about he Benjamins for many. B'gals signed FB (backfield Guard in reality) Jeremi Johnson to the highest FB contract 2 years ago. He was strictly so-so in '07, showed up so overweight at '08 camp that they wouldn't let him practice. When he finally lost some, he busted his knee or some such. Waived off of IR last week. With a pocketful of $$$. If a miracle happened and ownership of an NFL franchise dropped in my lap, I'd put it on the market the next day. I couldn't stand dealing with the many strutting, self-important primadonna personalities that populate much of the rosters.
  3. He's a far better person that CIN's Mr. Potato Head with his 18 years of heading a losing club and a free $600M stadium (without indoor practice facilities - Brown didn't get the taxpayers to pay for that, so the B'gals are the northernmost club without one). 4. Believe it. It happens with frequency in the private sector. Remove your supporters, perhaps transfer you to another location where you have few friends to go to bat for you. Don't concoct a complex scenario of intrigue - Levy...Ralph..Levy etc., or cloud what happened. Ralph orderd Mularkey's legs cut off. Mularkey was prideful enough to leave after the insult...which was counted on. He could have stayed, held out for satisfaction of the signed contract.
  5. Jeeze...3 1/2 years to 15 for illegal carry, after shooting himself in the leg? These politicians and their vote-pandering ways... http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/11144691 You can beat the daylights out of someone, cripple them and ruin their life forever, and get less time. That .40 S&W is a powerful number - and is chambered in a medium to large frame semi-auto pistol. That's a pretty dumb concealed-carry piece. IMO, if you want to conceal carry - legal or not, a reliable 2" shrouded hammer .38 Special or .44 S&W Special lightweight revolver with good bullet choice is the way to go, with today's transfer bar tech insuring against any accidental discharge. Doesn't fit in with the gangsta image, though...
  6. But evidently not an OTC French paramecium.
  7. Ralph accomplished what he set out to do - got rid of Mike at low or no cost.
  8. What is a paramesium?
  9. I know zilch about digital cameras. Do people still use filters? When I dug out that UltraPod, I glanced at mine - perhaps 20 of them. Dumb question: can you photograph in B&W with a digital camera? I was a big user of B&W film...Kodax Tri-X, Plus-X, and Pan-X, hence the large # of filters.
  10. It's called Ultra-Pod (mine is manufactured by Early Winters). A very useful, low-cost item. Here's a source, with a photo of it. The legs fold in or out...very compact. http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Product___82060
  11. Shottenheimer is 65 years old. Decade after decade of dealing with youngsters, then with the change from want-to-win-pro players to a scene with minor players cashing in for millions, most looking for a posse, bling, and advertising bucks, and all behind their union skirts, rolling in multiple millions. Acting like infants. Add in owners that rollick in a 32 team biz without fear of a free market. Why would Marty care to raise his blood pressure at his age to get back into this goofy show business?
  12. Dunno...they used to sell things that would tap into a camera tripod base and had straps - sometimes velcro, sometimes canvas strap and a buckle - that would stabilize and hold still a camera for a time exposure. I have one of those in my kit bag. I know zilch about digital cameras...you used to be able to stop down the exposure, fiddle with the ASA, and make exposure modifications during development of the image recorded on the emulsion.

  14. Happy B'day, Lady!
  15. I was astounded that WAS enshrined this short-time POS on their "Wall of Fame". What a slap in the face to much more deserving 'Skins of the past...
