  1. I stopped contributions to the United Way when I was working, because atheists and homosexuals insisted that the Scouts were an evil organization because they rejected both agendas, and the UW worked to deny them freely-given contribution money. There was a half-hearted attempt on the part of the United Way to allow contributors to direct their contributions, but that's been weakened. Basically - give to the United Way and let their well-paid political leadership decide how to mete out your contributions. So much for embracing diversity, eh? Seems to depend on who's diversity it is...
  2. Mine is a 2-cycle Lawn Boy. Tune-up for the season is cleaning the spark plug and the air filter, filing the blade square, and lubing the rear drive hubs. I push the primer bulb seven times, set the choke, and it starts on the first pull. For 9 years so far. 2-stroke mowers are tops if you have to cut slopes - no splash, unpressurized oil sump to starve out and ruin the motor because of lube starvation, and are lighter than their 4-cycle cousins. Easy to horse around. They can't sell 2-stroke mowers anymore AFAIK, but you can buy 2-cycle outboard motors anywhere in the US. Same as 2-stroke motorcycles all over the globe. And trimmers. Your new 4-cyl. mowers will have a catalytic converter, soon. Bon apetit!
  3. RB...CB...S... I am prepared for anything.
  4. Not a bad idea...
  5. It could have been Chuckie Cheese, ya know...
  6. Oh, go pay your U.S. 30% Carbon Tax on your heating, gasoline, and cooling bills and 20% more for goods so China can dig more high-sulfur coal.
  7. Well, with Earth Day neigh, you could teach them how to terrorize, inculcate, and recruit younger children with tales about the coming apocalypse, same as school systems and Al Gore do...
  8. Me too! I've no idea who they'll pick at #11, but at #28, Unger/Mack would be very nice.
  9. They host DEN on Dec. 27th. That could do it.
  10. Force of habit...years of working in chemistry and manufacturing.
  11. Maybe the Bills draft a QB. Would that spice it up for you?
  12. My 1st one... 12:30 PM - 16 oz. Gatorade. 1:00 PM - 1 1/2 ounce Fleet Phosphosoda in 8 oz. 7-Up with ice. 2:00 PM - 1st bowel movement. 2:10 PM - 2nd (I omit the descriptives). 3:05 PM - 3rd. 4:20 PM - 4th. 5:30 PM - 5th. 6:10 PM - 6th. Clarity. 6:15 PM - 2nd dose of Phosphosoda. 7:00 PM - 7th. 7:25 PM - 8th. 7:40 PM - 9th. 8:13 PM - 10th. 8:35 PM - 11th 9:20 PM - 4 ducolax tablets + 16 oz. Gatorade. 10:05 PM - 12th. 10:40 PM - 13th. The next day. 3:00 AM - 14th. 3:10 AM - 15th. 6:50 AM - 16th. 7:05 AM - 17th. Then I went to the hospital for the procedure. Mizadolam/fentanyl IV drip hooked up to my toe. I was told that I woke up during the procedure - redundant colon section (not uncommon) had them batting me about to route the probe through to the terminal ileum. I recalled nothing about the procedure. Fentanyl rocks. They suggest that a general anesthetic might be better (Diprivan), but there are problems there (possible side effect: death). I was given apple juice when I resurfaced. I don't remember my dear wife getting the car, and have vague recollection of her seating me at a local breakfast joint for a plate of soft...soothing...pancakes. Subsequent ones: The 3-dollar bottle of Fleet Phosphosoda was replaced with an Rx (OsmoPrep...60 bucks. ), and a different liquid regimen. Fleet got sued for what in IMO was consumer error. Hence my man prescribing the high-price way.
  13. If it has meaning. Here's an article from the Globe and Mail. Seems Canada has similar problems as here: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...l_gam_mostemail
  14. Happy B'Day, Mits!
  15. Ahh, but he'll be playing in a Turk Schonert offense this year!
  16. Bell will be gone in the 4th, and likely before.
  17. And Harvey was a long, long holdout - the last to sign, IIRC.
  18. Wow - that would be a big chunk of change for a suitor to pay out.
  19. My, the tide does seem to be shifting...
  20. Do some homework. Palmer was out for 12 games, willing but inexperienced Fitzgerald at the helm, a short-arming pouty Ocho Dinko, another worthless year from RB Chris Perry, an injured and so an ineffective Kenny Watson cut and brought back, several WR injuries, numerous other OL injuries.
  21. Add in the "wisdom" of Ohio voters. They passed a ballot that not only raised minimum wage ahead of the recent federal increase, but has a built-in yearly cost of living increase. So far, I have seen grocery stores increase their numbers of self-serve registers, including new full-belt ones that shuttle your stuff downstream. Jobs cut. A small local eatery chain that I patronize, has slashed staff. Cut hours, raised prices, requires the wait staff to deliver checks and collect cash instead of customers being able to bring their check up to the register. Which plants the customer in place, and makes them not come back. A classic death spiral. Prices are up in other restaurants, too. Meanwhile, the OH State govt. has raised just about every fee they can, shocked because they had to lay off some of their own - can't have that, and they have to keep up the payoffs to the craftily-cultivated dependent crowd, because they are their very important voting bloc. Narrowly avoided was a ballot initiative, that would require all employers to give 5 days per year of "personal time", which could be cashed in without notice, in 15 minute increments. In a snit? Take off. Big, important meeting you didn't prepare for? Take off. It will be back - it has very heavy union backing, and our current Governor took the cash and understands which side his personal bread is buttered on. Last years' big noise was DHL leaving Wilmington, OH. 10,000+ well paying jobs, a big deal for that rural county. Much hand-wringing. Had to stop U.S. operations. Bad global economy. They left, and today resurfaced to do business at the CVG Airport - which is located in Kentucky.
  22. Perhaps some are two-way and can also pass rush?
