  1. It doesn't. It's a chronic buzz issue here for Democrats, resurfaced recently. Basically, a try for getting public money shoved the union trades's way in return for well-established political support for election. Our current Governor dictated that any public money expenditures be union-only for construction and repair. Even a small food kitchen will have to pay union cost for something as simple as a broken window, if anyone who shows up is on some sort of State (taxpayer) assistance. A curious thing is happening here in Cincinnati. Our black Mayor is hot and heavy about a trolley system of short distance, one terminus being in an area of town where the Cincinnati Police have repeatedly warned White or Hispanic people to stay out of, because of well-established black racial violence against them. Yet..our currently- reigning Black activist - he's head of the local NAACP chapter, is against this. All I can figure is that it 's a power struggle over other people's money forced out of their pockets by taxation and threat of incarceration or financial ruin for non-compliance. Nothing new there.
  2. If this Commissioner, and all the owners, are willing to rebate every dime the taxpayers forked over for RWS (including time value of the gift), they can pull the team. But that would never happen.
  3. Heh - one of Bettis' first gigs was at a CIN feature game, one of those where the announcing illuminati do their outdoor stage thing. Evidently, he stuck his SB ring finger for "lifetime accomplishments" out to the crowd (I've never seen a more pre-ordained SB than PGH - SEA) into the fans' faces. Heavy booing ensued, and Betty exited the stage with Collinsworth remaining with a wry smile and a comment...
  4. Not sure some of your #3 OL's will still be out there. Keep an eye towards OT Joel Bell, Furman. Alabama's C Caldwell looks like a decent pick, too.
  5. I like Madden - wordy, of course, but that's part 'n parcel of the NFL hype. His comments about things on the field are always worth paying attention to, IMO. His W-L record with OAK, the style and excitement his teams brought to the NFL, are remarkable.

  8. Retired, spent forces, I'd say. Who would post, while they are on the job?
  9. I though digital people tout multi-tasking..no? You need not take their hands...
  10. That's right. Dress spiffy, take your lovely bride out on the town to a movie or something else, every week. Buy the Sno-Caps, and the over-priced wine at intermission at the symphony hall. Always stroll hand in hand. No exceptions to this rule. I offer this to you as a gem necessary for domestic bliss that will last all your hopefully long lives. Get out of the house, not just on vacations. I know I am presumptive. If you object, you will have to get in line.
  11. Dear Mr. Beerball, I believe redundancy has been committed. However, "Belabor" is an elegant word not used as nearly as much as it should. Nobody dare roll their eyes and utter "But Sir, you belabor the point" these days, unless they are well-prepared for and able to daunt heavy attack - verbal or otherwise. I think we can easily accept subsequent words meaning the same here, and chalk it up to the author merely wishing to add emphasis. As always dear Sir, please feel free to wing me with the cartridge of your choice as I high-tail away. Always the supporter of Texas as you know me to be, your wound would provide succor to FSID and blzrul, both of which expressed genocide and/or crushing repression as a desirable outcome for the current population of a number of States. It's a liberal concept, it seems. Your humble servant, stuckincincy, bzo.
  12. Who watches a movie every night?
  13. Go find a mirror, stand in front of it and ask yourself..."Can anybody on the internet get me so worked up?". Keep looking, and if your marbles aren't rocking to and fro, you will say to yourself...no. I'm sorry that you think I have picked on you. You post, like I. You are no stranger at posting often, and sometimes - at least in my view - post outlandish, provocative subjects. Which I have replied to. So now, you wish to descry my commentaries your posts elicit. Your comments as well as mine, can be ill-received. We all realize that. I have vague recollection of your words re someones' medical problem. You were crass and hurtful there, IMO and IIRC. And so I said. Cool off, my friend. If it turns out that I am the worst thing out there bedeviling you, you are a fortunate man indeed.
  14. The fee for "Certified" is roughly $2.75 plus normal postage. I don't know the exact cost. That small chunk out of your hide insures you sent it off in time, and if it doesn't show, that's the post office's problem - not yours. You have your receipt. PO folks may try to sell you the "return receipt" thing, but there is no reason. You just need proof of mailing.
  15. In the 1st round of the TBD 3-Round Mock Draft, at #30, the Tennessee GM (clumping platelets) selected Gilbert. The TBD mock results are over in the College Football section, if you have an interest to view the choices.
  16. And mine wanes. My blood circulation seems to be OK, though...today.
  17. Some oldies: Private Parts Corporal Punishment Sergeant Atarms Major Domo Colonel Corn General Issues Admiral Fellows.
  18. It's a convention in publishing...don't be captious. And a subject of countless lawsuits through the years. Feynman, I am calling you on it because I'm right and you are wrong. You have on several occasions put forth page after page of unattributed, full-text postings, without a stitch of attribution. I'm not after you, but I am imploring you to see sense, and change your ways regards this. Posting lengthy liftings of copyrighted material puts TBD at risk. That goes for everybody.
  19. Do you know what he majored in? Was it among the usuals...communications, exercise science, and the like?
  20. \ Typically, 150 words or less, with attribution that clearly names the author, the publisher, the date of publication, and a clear expression of - not an alias - to the source link. Got it?
  21. Well, we have all come across flaming ass*oles that repeatedly post copyrighted text without concern if a site ends up getting sued because of their actions...
  22. My Doomsday device will activate.
  23. "We live thick and are in each others' way, and stumble over one another, and I think we thus lose some respect for one another." - Henry David Thoreau. "Do what you love. Know you own bone; gnaw at it, bury it, unearth it, and gnaw it still." - ibid.
