  1. Well, that will make those that insist on standing all game long, sit down.
  2. Watch Brady's eyeballs. When his head is straight and he stares straight ahead, there will be a receiver running into his vision. Your rushing defenders have to stick their arms up if they can. Always give Welker a chuck in the 5 yard legal zone.
  3. The Beavers didn't light up the lights in last week's U of CIN tilt. Ore.St was at home, and the way the sun played over the stadium cost UCin a couple of deep receptions. Canfield suffered 5 sacks...the Cin rush wasn't dealt with very well by the OL, and the very talented Rodgers brothers were effectively held in check. I don't mean to crow about Cin - but the final score differential could have been wider.
  4. I believe the older term "You Lucky Duck!" applies here.
  5. Good for you, son. I think you and your bride-to-be will have a lovely life together. Having another person taking your side through a lifetime, no matter what, is beyond valuation. Success --- probably inaccurately attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.
  6. Good for her. Here's a heartwarming story about a wedding dress that worn in seven weddings: http://news.cincinnati.com/article/2009082...-traveled+dress
  7. NO took a gamble picking up the then injured Brees (shoulder? - I forget). It certainly paid off - but the don't know about a raw deal. SD paid a price for Rivers, and that money wasn't going to sit on the bench.
  8. When I lived in NY (left in 1978), they based the registration fee on the weight of the vehicle - following the fact that in general, the heavier the vehicle, the more stress on the roadways. As CowgirlsFan implies, the weight may still be factored in in various States - dunno.
  9. Happy B'Day!
  10. My answer is that you spoke exclusively about $$$ and not a word about your betrothed and the life you hope to have with her, she with you. You both should go somewhere and figure some things out. And be mindful, that a wedding is not about you. It is about people that are happy for you and took time to show up - so none of this "I'm the most important thing on Earth" crap. Also - instruct your wedding party - Best Man, Maid of Honor, the others etc., about their ambassadorial duties. They will go out and deliver drinks to old women who would never sidle up to a bar, they will visit every table, and there they will invite young and old to the dance floor. They will deliver snacks and cake to the tables after the meal. Your wedding guests are just that - your guests. Treat them accordingly.
  11. Yes. Take the points and don't waste a drive on a chance 4th down conversion... A turnover is unlikely, but you leave earned money on the table if you fail. Yes, you may leave them deep in their own territory. 90 yard drives happen. Put the points up on the scoreboard, tuck them in the pocket, and let the opposition try to change the score. Turning your back on an easy 3 when you already up is goofy.
  12. PBS 14 (as broadcast here in Cincy) bought out channel 16 PBS, the Miami (OH) University taxpayer-subsidized outlet and a couple of allied PBS radio stations. They call themselves "Think TV". You know the routine - men and women of "vision" who were convinced that the purchases were the smart way to go. These visionaries puffed up their chest and assured that all would be gold and by the way send in that check as usual - we merely had to adore the words of our betters. Unfortunatly, the normal contributing public has been lifting the leg on them, because they decided to load up on the "ad" content, failed to account for the fact of the cessation of monies extracted out of the taxpayer's hide from the Miami station unwilling or not, that the after the acquisition took place, then bought tons of old and cheesy programming. They beg incessantly. Their morning slate is not appealing anymore. The radio audience is especially mad, because previous content was dropped in large measure. The morning radio offerings are this or that syndicated thing spaced between each day's Obama love fest pieces. Sorry - that is so. They misjudged the effects and resentment of their money grab - several content providers of local interest - financial topics, health, cooking, etc, that gave them content for free for years now tell them to pony up cash or forget about it. I have handed over $ to PBS for years. I got a mailing a couple of weeks ago from this outfit, basically accusing me of being a cheap d*ik and a hater if I didn't fork over a check, pronto. So I did - to KET.
  13. Who did they drop off of the PS? not sure - did they have an open spot by putting Stupar on the roster?
  14. Indeed. I'm in a fortunate spot. I get 4 PBS channels thanks to cable proximity to Dayton, the Miami(OH) station and Cincinnati and Kentucky. Also, Ky's KET network has 3 channels. The KET network does a good job; plenty of fascinating programming about local Ky life and history. And also BBC America stuff. A lot of that is trash, but gems surface from time to time. Two of the PBS channels were forced up the dial into the HD atmosphere, but a no-cost DVR box swap with T-W solved that. They come over fine on my SD CRT tvs. I also had a good situation when I lived in the PGH area, getting both the WVA PBS tv feed as well as the WVA public radio stations.
  15. I'd point to Couch as a QB tossed into an organization that put him into a no-win situation that after several years, broke him figuratively and literally. Like Brando said to Stieger..." I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am, let's face it. It was you, Charley. ..."
  16. I sure do. IIRC, it was at the end of the NFL season, not part of the pre-season games. Also IIRC, the college all-stars won a game or two - not sure. 3rd IIRC - the All-Stars played the Championship Game losers. Perhaps KRC will chime in with the facts about this. Of course back then, the players in college and those that got a job in the pros were more comparable in size/speed.
  17. I see that a chunk of Iowa and Missouri get the NO - BUF game plopped in the middle of GB-STL coverage. I guess that's the TO name factor.
  18. "See how PRWeb Works."
  19. Crop rotation was known - but cotton was a hot commodity and letting fields lie fallow or planting alternative crops wan't smiled upon (my understanding is that cotton plants are notorious depleters - correct me if I'm wrong - that makes your day, I know ). As to your second assertion - I'm aware of the "balance" thing. I merely stated that there was Northern sensibilities against slavery. I need not type in an exhaustive tome covering all possible bases for every post I make, at risk of course, of suffering captious responses.
  20. I miss CFL broadcasts. And was happy to see ESPN broadcast last season's Grey Cup. That was a fine game.
